Brady’s actually the older brother and I believe Cameron is out. The Douglass brothers were douches in high school but it seems like Brady’s asshatness was exacerbated by Paul and his feelings for November, whom he gave the hardest time to. Cameron and Justin weren’t cool in school but it seems it was to a much lesser degree than what November went through. I don’t know why Cameron and Justin are hiding what is obviously some type of hooking up going on; The only thing I can think of is that Justin just got out of a relationship and maybe wants to keep his stuff private for a while.

I don’t think Katie’s news is great but hopefully it’s something that can be fixed or start to be fixed with a talk from Daddy. “Sorry Ember, I have no idea what the deal is with that guy. I can’t believe we were ever friends.” I said once we got outside the bistro. “Hmpf, I have an inkling,” Ember retorted, “You want to come back to my place, and do some Netflix ‘n’ chill.” ”I can’t believe we were ever friends”, indeed. Really Brady?!?! 🤥 I’m glad Ember didn’t gloss over the comment; Expecting more addressing of the pink elephant in the room in the next chapter. I see the “sexual healing” between Ember and Brady is progressing nicely, 😄🤨 More Hawko and Pix!!

Holy fuck. I’m really bothered by this development between C&C, lol.

Wow. Charles’ issues were obvious and the apparent roadblock to being with Colin yet it’s Colin’s issues that may actually keep them apart. His reverse snobbery is deep rooted and truly hypocritical, as it is his privileged upbringing that allows him the arrogance he currently has. He’s quite manipulative and that’s not something I attribute to Charles. I’m so blindsided by Colin’s issues and how quickly his relationship with Charles unraveled that I was able to forget how much of a douche Charles’ dad was (I really wasn’t impressed with him). The problem between C&C is real and it’s on Colin. Good on Charles for standing up for himself because as Angie said: “Those cocky rich boys know their self-worth.” You can see these two powerfully love each other but this chapter is a sad reminder that love isn’t always enough to make a relationship work. 😨☹️

Chapter 27 - Private Speech
FanLit commented on Cole Matthews's story chapter in Chapter 27 - Private Speech
WHEW!!!! Whatever else, at least Darren isn’t a murderer, just an attempted murderer. I’m hoping Christian’s injuries result in a short recuperation with minimal lasting damage but with a head injury I’m aware I’m being optimistic. (Mystery #1) 🙂 I wonder if Darren made the call to aid Christian; If he did, it doesn’t negate the consequence he should face for what he did. (Mystery #2) 🙂 It was nice to see people around Christian, Whatever type of relationship they have with him, they care about him in someway. Who is the newly engaged woman with accent, as it isn’t his mother? (Mystery #3) 🙂 Very nice twist following up on the previous prompt. 👏 -
Uuuh...My query was for what made Aron marry Alex. 😉

This story merits a sad/angry and a like. Any ceiling that stifles the growth of deserving careers is distressing, what angered and surprised me was the arrogance of Teague in his prejudice; He is so tone deaf to the environment he works in that he thought nothing of admitting he denied Jeff the promotion because he felt he was to feminine. Mind you, there are straight effeminate men so it was a perception that derailed Jeff, the fact he was homosexual is practically beside the point. The only benefit to Teague’s ignorance is that it delivered a confession from his own mouth, he has no one else to blame for the dishonorable end to his long career. Thank you for the provocative piece.

Oh. My. God❣️❣️❣️❣️ I am LOVING this story. The chemistry between Josh and Kells is so natural and it’s so endearing that Officer Kells is genuinely interested in Joshua. I loved how Josh put “Slutahan” in his place, even tho it means he will have to go to a new coffee spot unless he wants spit in his future cinnamon lattes, 😄. Joshua’s smile hurt his face taking in the joy he was feeling, my smile hurt my face from the pleasure of reading this chapter, that’s when I wasn’t busy laughing out loud!! This chapter gets a double love ❤️ ❤️ and my vote is for this attraction taking off to heights neither of them ever knew before. Can’t wait for the next chapter....

I don’t mind the wait on the hanky panky, Laura, anticipation will make the actual event all the hotter. 💥 😉 The ride you’re taking us on via the glimpse into Aron and Alex’s marriage is enough of a diversion. The impression Carter gave of Aron prior to his marriage was of a strong minded, dependable person, not one to fall for the narcissistic tantrums of an insecure diva. For all of its dysfunction and appearance that it should be over, I hope something points to a more internally appealing Alex who did love Aron at one point. (maybe still does in his own way?) I mean, Alex couldn’t say Aron got him pregnant so something of worth had to have walked Aron down that aisle.
-
I mean.... I mean.... Aron’s feelings for Carter at least justifies Alex’s making Aron choose between their relationship and Carter as well as banning mention of Carter in their home; it’s childish and reeks of insecurity but there’s a basis. Carter/Alex needs to get the all clear on those STD results. I want Aron to turn him out!! The sex between those two besties is going to be better than anything Aron ever had with his “Hubby”. I’m really looking forward to how this will be straightened out, Laura and who will be with whom at the end.

“I hand him my money, wondering at this sudden change when it hits me. This raw scent of man, powerful and like a sun drenched fields and also shaded tree lined brooks. It was sensual, beautiful and I was scared to look.” That has to be one of the most erotic introductions to anyone, ever. Let’s not even get into the peaches exchange. 🔥 I’m in. I’m onboard. I hope you post often.

I’m catching up on this story, this is about where I got to when I first read it. I’m glad there are more chapters and methinks Mason is in a closet of his own; Bullies are usually afraid of something they don’t want people to know, anyway. I really hope Trick stands up to him.

Very well said.

As long as their issues are addressed, bit by little bit will work. I suspect there will be a lot of “sex therapy” in between those strides, 😄.

Chapter 9 - Fight, sex, fight
FanLit commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Chapter 9 - Fight, sex, fight
I love that in spite of being so obviously in love with each other, Charles and Colin aren’t all rainbows and flowers all the time. They are real and achingly vulnerable with each other. It’s official, I’m on Team Charlie now and look very much forward to seeing how this relationship develops. Now, while there were a few, the passage that made me laugh the most was: “He starts to imitate a toddler’s temper tantrum by bouncing in his seat and crying out. “I. Want. Your. Dick. I’m hard as hell from thinking about it. I’ll beg you, I’ll blow you, and I’ll do anything you want!”- 11 comments

Viewing the statement in the sequence of Adam’s actions you’ve pointed out is valid, too. Bless Adam for wanting to hold on to something to redeem his sperm donor (wanting to know what he was doing with the gun) but I’m with you in that it wouldn’t make much of a difference, nor would I have gone to the funeral. It’s a credit to the author that we all have such different, valid interpretations of what he’s written.

I think that quote means Adam recognizes the belt was an instrument in his parent’s punishment, they could have used a switch or hairbrush or even a paddle to administer their physical abuse but they were the abusers, not the belt. My father was an abusive man and the worst abuse he ever administered to me was with a thick, black belt with a silver buckle. It brought me back to that moment every time I saw it hanging on my parents’(?) bedroom door, as a matter of fact I couldn’t wear a belt for years after, even as an adult. Then I entered a phase in my life where I looked at all the fears and triggers I had in my life, among other things I overcame was the fear of wearing belts. Memories of my father’s abuse remains, it’s a part of my emotional dna, I decided tho that I just didn’t want what he did to me to be the reason I wouldn’t wear belts anymore; Granted, I have not worn a thick, black belt with a silver buckle 😉 but wearing belts is part of the way I have triumphed over my past. Adam could probably use some therapy (and Mrs. Jackson definitely does) but I don’t think he’s in denial of what he’s gone through or who did it.

I hope the sending of that belt is not an indication of the start of future harassment from the woman that gave birth to Adam, as she definitely isn’t his mother. That hypocritical bitch; If she’s decided Adam isn’t a part of her life anymore, leave him be and move on with some other prune faced parishioner in that “church” of hers. That just shows that Adam still has impact in her life. People think the opposite of love is hate but it’s actually indifference-if Mrs. Jackson had truly disowned Adam, she wouldn’t care at all what happens in his life but she clearly still wants to hurt him. Good for Adam turning that which was meant to hurt him into another sign of his triumph.

I’m glad Brady and Ember are working things out, I do want them to be together. I do however, take exception to anyone warning Ember to be mindful of Brady, as Cameron did before he left; Brotherly concern notwithstanding, the Douglass brothers were jerks in high school, the worst kind, it appears. Twenty years ago, Brady and his cohorts were part of a harassment campaign against November that could have ended very differently. That Ember didn’t commit suicide and is a productive member of society is a testament to his strength but what he went through would inevitably leave scars, as evidenced by his personal life and I feel like that’s being glossed over in Ember and Brady’s road to becoming a couple. Brady is clearly contrite and everyone deserves a second chance and yes, Ember has to decide to let hatred and bitterness go but the onus of this is more on Brady, I feel. Brady is lucky he is looking at a legitimate chance at a future with Ember instead of a revenge fuck on Ember’s part. I’m hoping next week’s chapter really allows for the in-depth discussion they need to have before they can move forward.

Tears came to my eyes when I saw the new boy’s name was Gabriel, God’s angel, God’s messenger. Like he was sent by Kyle so Eli wouldn’t make Cassidy’s mistake. A powerful, sad yet hopeful tale.

Wow. With all its anger and resentment, its past and present, this was a delicious, full flavored slice of life. Fred and Susan were a revelation, poignant reminders that Mom and Dad had lives before they became Mom and Dad. It is sad that they weren’t better parents but they did the best they could. It’s too late for Fred to let his children know he loved them and was proud of them but you can see Susan doesn’t intend to make the same mistake. I was deeply touched by this story and still reluctant to give Thomas a pass, lol.

Chapter 8 - Jesse's Return & Karaoke-Off
FanLit commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Chapter 8 - Jesse's Return & Karaoke-Off
“Seriously, Colin? We’ve been friends for seven months. I don’t care if your apartment is messy or covered in One Direction posters. I want to go in, it’s freaking cold outside! And “I guess with Jesse, I didn’t want him to leave, but with you, I can’t live without you! I did love Jesse, but with you, it’s different.” Those were the standout lines in this chapter for me, with the “with you, it’s different” being my favorite.- 16 comments

It’s a damn shame that sharing blood doesn’t guarantee that one will share your best interest. Karma is a bitch and I hope it bites Connor’s mom where it hurts the most; At the very least, she guaranteed that she won’t be having access to her grandchild through her son. The vibe between Connor, Leon and Joel is lovely; When your blood relations prove they aren’t family, you have to create a family made by love.
