I hope the sending of that belt is not an indication of the start of future harassment from the woman that gave birth to Adam, as she definitely isn’t his mother. That hypocritical bitch; If she’s decided Adam isn’t a part of her life anymore, leave him be and move on with some other prune faced parishioner in that “church” of hers. That just shows that Adam still has impact in her life. People think the opposite of love is hate but it’s actually indifference-if Mrs. Jackson had truly disowned Adam, she wouldn’t care at all what happens in his life but she clearly still wants to hurt him. Good for Adam turning that which was meant to hurt him into another sign of his triumph.

I’m glad Brady and Ember are working things out, I do want them to be together. I do however, take exception to anyone warning Ember to be mindful of Brady, as Cameron did before he left; Brotherly concern notwithstanding, the Douglass brothers were jerks in high school, the worst kind, it appears. Twenty years ago, Brady and his cohorts were part of a harassment campaign against November that could have ended very differently. That Ember didn’t commit suicide and is a productive member of society is a testament to his strength but what he went through would inevitably leave scars, as evidenced by his personal life and I feel like that’s being glossed over in Ember and Brady’s road to becoming a couple. Brady is clearly contrite and everyone deserves a second chance and yes, Ember has to decide to let hatred and bitterness go but the onus of this is more on Brady, I feel. Brady is lucky he is looking at a legitimate chance at a future with Ember instead of a revenge fuck on Ember’s part. I’m hoping next week’s chapter really allows for the in-depth discussion they need to have before they can move forward.

Tears came to my eyes when I saw the new boy’s name was Gabriel, God’s angel, God’s messenger. Like he was sent by Kyle so Eli wouldn’t make Cassidy’s mistake. A powerful, sad yet hopeful tale.

Wow. With all its anger and resentment, its past and present, this was a delicious, full flavored slice of life. Fred and Susan were a revelation, poignant reminders that Mom and Dad had lives before they became Mom and Dad. It is sad that they weren’t better parents but they did the best they could. It’s too late for Fred to let his children know he loved them and was proud of them but you can see Susan doesn’t intend to make the same mistake. I was deeply touched by this story and still reluctant to give Thomas a pass, lol.

Chapter 8 - Jesse's Return & Karaoke-Off
FanLit commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Chapter 8 - Jesse's Return & Karaoke-Off
“Seriously, Colin? We’ve been friends for seven months. I don’t care if your apartment is messy or covered in One Direction posters. I want to go in, it’s freaking cold outside! And “I guess with Jesse, I didn’t want him to leave, but with you, I can’t live without you! I did love Jesse, but with you, it’s different.” Those were the standout lines in this chapter for me, with the “with you, it’s different” being my favorite.- 16 comments

It’s a damn shame that sharing blood doesn’t guarantee that one will share your best interest. Karma is a bitch and I hope it bites Connor’s mom where it hurts the most; At the very least, she guaranteed that she won’t be having access to her grandchild through her son. The vibe between Connor, Leon and Joel is lovely; When your blood relations prove they aren’t family, you have to create a family made by love.

Chapter 8 - Jesse's Return & Karaoke-Off
FanLit commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Chapter 8 - Jesse's Return & Karaoke-Off
Colin and Charlie wouldn’t have lasted if they got together when Charles was still a man whore; It was good that Charlie took the unplanned sabbatical from sex, it was time for him to grow up anyway. Colin can believe Charles really loves him because he saw the changes in him and recognized them as sincere; He also knows Charles was into Colin and not “Stanley-Colin-Fucking-Clarke the Third!” I know there are many triangles and quadrangles out there-best friends in love with each other but coupled up with other people because they are afraid to take a chance on something more, leaving significant other always a liiiittttllleee bit jealous of that BFF. I’m glad it didn’t work out that way for Charles and Colin and Jesse too, even if he wasn’t the one for Colin, he deserves more. I hope there is still a little more left to the story.- 16 comments

Hmmm, is Mark Alex? Whomever he is or isn’t, Aron and Alex need to be free of this emotionally stifling relationship and Aron and Carter need to become friends again, at least....
-
Methinks Aron was not totally happy with Alex the diva. I hope Carter puts ten pounds on his body, 😂.

Okay, I’m late in starting this story, which winds up being okay because there’re more chapters for me to read. The premise is interesting, Laura. I’m looking forward to how this will “straighten” Carter out, 😊. Looking forward to the hot sex I know you’ll have them having, too. 🔥💥

Chapter 7 - An Abrupt Departure
FanLit commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Chapter 7 - An Abrupt Departure
Well, alrighty then. The 5 year move could be a legitimate excuse to break up but not in a relationship like Colin and Jesse had (or apparently had). It feels like Jesse felt there were three people in his relationship with Colin and he took this as a chance to walk away before he got more hurt or dumped. I do think Colin and Charles were too close with Colin being in a committed relationship but Jesse should have clearly conveyed how Colin & Charles’ closeness bothered him. Guess this was the flaw that makes Jesse less than perfect. It wouldn’t surprise me if Colin winds up hearing that Jesse has already moved on. Something about all of this bothers me, it didn’t feel like an organic way for C & J’s relationship to end. It’s obvious Colin and Charles have feelings for each other but I’m waiting to see how Colin’s reveal about who he really is affects Charles.- 11 comments

It’s like Troy pointed out, Adam would’ve never did what Kyle did even if they had been in the same circumstances. Adam didn’t realize standing up to his father and taking those beatings was a sign of strength, he could’ve given in to keep the peace but didn’t. Adam has a backbone, where Kyle doesn’t.
-
The “love” I gave this chapter was for Adam’s response to the minister. 🐑 🕊 Adam & Troy’s meeting with Kyle was sad. Parents truly need to understand the impact they have on a child, preferably before they have them; Sadly everyone’s motives for having children aren’t always about being a loving parent, even those who try may have unresolved emotional baggage of their own that they pass on to their children. It is a difficult challenge to overcome being provided an unstable foundation but it is possible if you recognize it and decide you want to change; With that said, Kyle still made his own choice on how to deal with his closeted feelings and has to pay for it. A revelatory chapter about choices and their impact.

Yaaaaaaaayyyyyy❣️❣️ “You’re not… going to lose… your job, Brady,”....Yeah, I think that’s pretty safe to say😂 Are they done fighting their feelings now or do you have something else up your sleeve?

Chapter 5 - Bro Date and Colin's Birthday Surprise
FanLit commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Chapter 5 - Bro Date and Colin's Birthday Surprise
I was Team Jesse before but I’m starting to become split; Before I didn’t see the couple vibe between Colin and Charlie but now I am. I was surprised when I realized Colin was being so detailed about his relationship with Jesse. Unless Jesse shows a very big character flaw, it’s still going to be tough to choose. I’m also curious about Charlie’s reaction when he realizes who Colin really is.- 22 comments

This version includes a breakdown of both perspectives that I don’t think was included in the Nifty version (Jackson’s think thru in the limo). It was crucial to justify Jackson’s choice in giving Carter another chance. Jackson is way cool, so mature for his age, weighing the good and the bad fairly. The title may be “How I got Carter” but it’s Carter who’s the lucky one to get Jackson. I’d love to read a follow up of Jackson, Carter and the crew, it doesn’t have to be long and the romantic in me hopes this is a relationship that they can be in as adults. I thank you Roe, for this story. Tho this was a boy/boy story, I as a girl was transported back to high school in Jackson’s shoes. I’ve rarely read a story that universally captured the torture of high school romance so well. 👏

Chapter 4 - Concert with Jesse
FanLit commented on Mrsgnomie's story chapter in Chapter 4 - Concert with Jesse
I like how Jesse is as inexperienced a hunk as Colin, actually more so, since Colin is not a virgin to man/man intercourse. They really do seem perfectly suited to each other; Mom did a great job in setting Colin up. I like Charles but I’m not sure I like him for Colin, yet. While it looks like Charles is willing to be a one guy man for Colin, I’m not sure he’s emotionally ready for that yet; Then there is the aforementioned “baggage”....- 11 comments

What a wonderful story you have going on here. While Colin and Jesse seem like the perfect couple, there is definitely rooting value for Colin and Charles, too. This triangle is developing in expected and unexpected ways. I am hooked.

Their past prevents the possibility of a calm, civilized conversation, even 20 years later. I think it has to go down the way it is between them, especially on Ember’s part; It would be impossible for Ember to accept that all he’s probably been looking for in a romantic relationship exists in the one person who tormented him in high school. That kind of upheaval to his foundation has to come with aftershocks that we are lucky enough to witness. 😊
-
Yes!! The preview before the main event. I like that Mr. Pompous Put You To Sleep was the one who made the assumption of Brady and Ember being involved. Ember might not have wanted him with Brady but he seems more in control of himself than to scare anybody off, then again Ember isn’t acting like himself. As Aaron pointed out, some roads to happily ever after are filled with fiery, passionate interactions before submission. 🤨 It’s. About. To. Go. Down. I reckon better than either have ever had before-to that end, when Ember finds out Brady was untouched before him, best believe and understand he’ll make sure Brady isn’t touched by anyone else ever again.🔥☄️💥 👏 Well done.

This so encapsulates the desire and anxiety felt when you want to do something for yourself but feel wrong for not spending all your time with your child. Mentally, you know that you need to take care of yourself in order to best take care of your child but emotionally, it feels like you’re abandoning your baby. A parent’s goal is to raise a happy, healthy, productive member of society, able to stand on their own two feet and eventually take care of others. While It’s easier said than done, A parent needs to recharge their batteries and that needs to include activities separate from your child/children. I enjoy and sympathize with Connor’s struggle and journey.
