Curiouser and curiouser. Just how deep is this rabbit hole? And who is Alex truly when Alex is Alex? I’m curious about the “proof” Alex has on Aron, I feel it’s something that may not be that big (or exist at all) but his jealousy has gone amok. I like how this story reminds me that beauty is only skin deep and how insecure beautiful people really are. (Or can be) You look at Alex and would think his beauty has given him everything but he is quite jealous. A secure person would not make Aron choose between he and Carter, nor would he need to be a narcissistic bitch to everyone who works for him. Alex is quite a case. Fascinating, frustrating and infuriating but quite a case. I’m distressed about Alex’s lover but that’s okay because the real Alex can have him when Carter and Aron get together. 😊 Well done, Rumpelstiltskin.

So.... Aron is a bit submissive sexually. It explains some things about his relationship with Alex but not all. The biggest sex organ in the body is the brain so I hope Carter realizes that Alex’s body is not functioning from some type of muscle memory, that was aaaalllll Carter. I’ve been thinking about the title of the story-while I’m familiar with the characters from “Alice in Wonderland” I’ve never read the book or seen the movie so don’t know if it references the story or something to be later proved in this one. Bedtime in the Ruskin household tonight is going to be in-ter-res-ting Oh and if you’re taking suggestions, feel free to update the story more than one a week. 😁

As long as there are two people in a relationship and one won’t acknowledge a problem or change, you have to choose to stay or walk away, no matter who it is. Blood ties don’t always make a family and friendships are outgrown. This is is my second reread and it was just as engrossing as the first time. It’s a beautiful piece of literature.

As a female, I can understand and share your sentiment, to an extent. ”Bro” or “Girl” code (because there is one for females) Gordon was wrong for going after Linda, was he skulking around Brady and his family all these years because of genuine friendship or because he wanted in Linda’s pants? It does happen and I’m only pointing out that Brady isn’t the only one smelling in this situation. Linda did choose to be with Gordon and with that happening so soon after her marriage breaking up, I question whether she is rebounding or genuinely involved-she could be using Gordon to get back at Brady. If Linda and Gordon are genuinely in love I wish them well, (“the course of true love never did run smooth”) it doesn’t change the fact their dating is questionable. (many starts are) Instead of “Bro” or Girl” code how about the golden rule? That’s all it really is, anyway.

Intentionally or not, Brady did a fucked up thing to Linda and his family; He’s owned it and is trying now to do right. Gordon, Brady’s “friend” from Uni, then proceeded to go after Linda, with Linda clearly okay with it. Had Brady and Linda divorced for other reasons, Gordon and Linda’s action would have been violation of bro code, because Brady is homosexual instead of heterosexual that’s okay? Congrats to Novy on winning the race, he clearly is thriving in his new environment, AJ’s influence, as a best friend or something more is a blessing for him; If he’s gay, I’m certain his road to coming out will be shorter and easier than his father’s. (Linda’s reaction will be interesting to note if he is) Brady needs to check out his baby girl (‘if the mountain won’t go to you, you must go to it’) Against all odds, Brady got his man. The air still needs to be cleared on some things 🤨 but they both want to move forward and that’s everything. (I love how Ember had Brady’s back in his encounters with Gordon). I think some more “sexual healing” is in order, I forget, is little Ember sharing their room? On the “healing” front....will Ember ever bottom for Brady?

That ominous pain on his right side has me very concerned. The appendix is on the right side but am not sure how long appendicitis goes before it bursts; Then I was thinking a bruised kidney or pancreas (liver)? Either way, I’m preoccupied with seeing what may happen with that pain. I can respect Adam not wanting to make a fuss but he should’ve told someone else besides Troy about that punch, I have a bad feeling everyone’s going to know about that punch soon.

Will there ever be a continuation/conclusion to this story?

I don’t know what shaped Daniel’s father but he was a negligent parent who only cared when it was too late about things that he should have been able to love his son in spite of. Daniel wanted his father’s attention and acceptance his whole life; It was his father who killed him. That beautiful, loving boy was not evil, he was Luc’s soul mate and they should’ve had their chance; At least Daniel absolved Luc in his email, he just has to believe it. I wonder what happened to that man after his son killed himself.

😭 😢 😔 I understand Josh. I have been Josh. Yes, Josh, life can be fucked up. Yes, Josh, it can feel like the weight of the world on your shoulders simply to put one foot in front of the other. But Josh....you are worthy. It’s hard to see it and believe it when you don’t feel it but it’s true. You are worthy and beautiful and not the only fucked up person out there, so sometimes our gifts come with fuck ups of their own, and we take it personally. You deserve love Josh, to love and be loved; To get better you have to accept that. The future, a better future, a happy future can be yours, Josh but you have to walk to it, one step and one day at a time. 😘😘 This hurt, Starry but this is life. Your writing excellently and chillingly captured the downward spiral this road can take you. I hope this is the start of Josh’s and Kevin’s (and Maris’) healing to a healthy life. I look forward to the next chapter.

The self suck and the “banana diet” were hilarious!! Carter is really trying to make the best of being in Alex’s body, all for Aron; He says it’s for their “friendship”, he doesn’t yet realize how deep his love for Aron goes but I guess that shouldn’t be a surprise: “Not that he had never seen gay porn. But it happened only because: a. It had been an accident b. Out of curiosity c. Not, definitely not, with the intention to jerk off d. All of the above” Yeeeaaahhh. De-nial ain’t just a river in Egypt, 😄. I wonder if Aron really believes that he’s not in love with Carter anymore, ‘cause Carter is not the only one swimming in that river. 🏊‍♀️ Yolanda’s belief in Alex & Carter as the perfect couple was interesting, too. Is Alex really not that close to her that she’d be unaware of his extramarital proclivities? I gathered from their interaction with that neighbor in the last chapter that image is very important to Alex, I’m wondering how many people buy into the image or even how much is image at this point? *scratching my head* I mean, for all of Alex’s bitchiness and frustration that he causes him, Aron was besottedly happy to see his husband survive and he seems to be in this marriage by choice. 😶 Nice move along chapter, Rumpelstiltskin. 😉 The more glimpses I get of this marital relationship, the more curious I get. Also wondering-will Carter’s body survive his injuries?

Okay, I get that Jamie was acting up but he is on holiday & this was why he and Sam chilled out before he left. I’m annoyed with Lucas for taking the pics in the first place (violating some type of code, if I remember correctly) and then his other friends for being careless in considering Sam’s feelings. He knows Jamie is going to do what he’s going to do out there but he doesn’t need it rubbed in his face. Jamie isn’t the only man-child in that group, they all have some growing up to do.

This chapter broke me up. 😢 Jamie is a special person and so very blessed, even having to deal with the break up of his marriage, he has an incredible support system. The relationship with Sam might not have lasted because it’s a rebound but the chemistry between the two clearly defy that, you don’t introduce your family and friends to just a “rebound”. Three months is a long time apart in an early relationship but Jamie’s dad was right: “....If it’s meant to work out, you will find yourselves. If not, it’s tough, son, but you’ve been through worse, and I’m sure you and Sam will be happy in what life brings your way....” It was the right (but so sad and painful) thing for Sam and Jamie to end things, it leaves Jamie free to enjoy this well deserved break without complications, I know Sam will be in his thoughts, tho. I cast my eyes to Jamie’s adventures with a bittersweet tinge now. Well done.

I think he’s definitely a closet case and an angry one at that. I have no doubt his brother wasn’t the only guy he forced & probably justifies it by saying “a hole is a hole”
