In later chapters Jay talks about things he hasn't been able to do because of his contract. He probably shouldn't be rock climbing, but when you're safely harnessed in, it is less likely that you'll sustain injuries...not impossible, but not likely.

Once again we see just how patient Jay is. Though it can be argued, how long will that last? I think Loren likes that Jay doesn't know. No ulterior motives and such. And Jay's comment would have likely been taken offensively by Loren had Jay known what he does. Since he doesn't, Loren is able to receive the words without personal judgement (just self judgement, which is probably worse lol) I think Jay felt uncomfortable by Loren's undress but that doesn't mean he didn't like it, and I think therein lies an issue. It's a chemical stimulate when you're trying to be an organic farmer. Jays at 10 years-ish, so he's definitely reaching the end. Influencers, to my knowledge, don't have typical anything. They come and go. Some last and some don't.

there’s also the possibility that you are part of the group that has normalized sexualization without even realizing it. And now you’re faced with the reality of what you’ve been a part of, what you’ve cultivated. Possibly…what you’ve even built you’re entire brand around. Is that what he wants his brand to be about?

Loren was starting to share more, you're right. Jay comment at the end definitely touched a tender spot. Loren's not quite ready to go kicking and screaming. He needs a little more time to come to terms

chapter four jay I stare out the window like a puppy waiting for his owner. Stupid, I know. Doesn’t change the facts. Doesn’t change the way my heart races when the sand-colored Sprinter van with aftermarket details pulls into the circular driveway. Loren gets out holding two iced coffees and wearing the best smile that seven-am has to offer. I meet him outside and he hands me a drink. “Good morning.” It’s a great morning. We quickly load up in my SUV and drive to

I understand why there are star reviews. It’s one part of a picture. How one rates is subjective. There will be a hundred different opinions. I think having this question open for discussion can help us understand differing POV’s but, ultimately, you will review how you see fit. Honestly, at least you are reviewing when so many don’t. I appreciate that. Thank you.

I don’t think anyone should feel they can’t leave an honest review or that they should only review if it’s 5 stars. I think that defeats the purpose. I have always found it strange though, when I read a glowing review (on any platform) and it’s accompanied by less than 5 stars. To me, a glowing review IS 5 stars. (Unless your in the business of being a professional critiquer, in that case, please don’t read my stories lol) As an author, if someone did that to me (left a glowing review that was less than five stars), I would feel a little defeated. It might even eat a me a little, wondering what I did wrong. My nature is more of an encourager than a discourager so I will likely lean towards a 5 star simply because I know the effort put into writing a story. It’s personal thing. For me to warrant a 3 or 4 star would mean there is something like major plot errors or stilted and hard to read story. Ultimately, each person will review as they see fit. Do I want less than 5 stars? No lol. But I don’t think 5 stars should be unattainable either, not on a platform like this where the work is free and voluntary. I’m curious what others say, especially when we have both sides giving opinions; readers giving reviews and authors receiving reviews. Interesting topic.

And he waited over a year just to be noticed before that. The time between is getting shorter. Surely something will happen before he reaches retirement age...right?

Thank you for the kind feedback. And you're right, there is so much we learn from the everyday conversation! I think it's something we overlook

The Drop in Centre

Heading to the valley to get soccer equipment for the kids. Small town life. Trying to find soccer cleats for a kid with ridiculously wide toe box is so hard it’s bordering impossible. I’m worried he won’t be able to play. -

To embarrass myself further, until this blog, if you would've asked me what prepositions are, in relation to grammar, I would've come up empty. Or, I might have asked, "did you mean predisposition?'. I need a nap and some better education.

I won't tell you what I read at first glance but it rhymes with institution. Clearly I need more than grammar lessons.

Aww, thank you! Good things to come, promise!

Great chapter @Mawgrim. Beautifully descripted. I've really enjoyed reading your stories. Not my typical genre but easy to read and get invested in anyway.

While the peanut butter whiskey is very good and I do like it, I still very much drink it like a child, ugly faced and everything. I tried to drink Blackberry Whiskey on the rocks the other day and thought I was going to die. It was good but it's too strong! If anyone has suggestion on how to mix it...?

One one hand, it takes almost nothing to get me drunk enough to double post. On the other hand… As someone who is public the way Loren is public, and who is sexualized like way he is, yeah, he’s in a hamster wheel for sure.

Jay is not very dense. Of the two, that’s probably Loren, in a sense anyway. Jay is very smart 😉😉
