The discussion at the end of the chapter was pretty good, though outside of sexual interests, I don't really know anything about these characters. I don't know what they are a like as people or what else is happening in their lives except for being in high school.

In this and the last Chapter, I feel that the sex started too soon and there was no transition. It was too much sex told too fast. I'd like to see it drawn out a little more. I'm surprised that they go from this shy straight friendship to blowing each other so quickly. Same with last Chapter. The previous foot thing that went a little too far earlier with Johnny was cool and seemed like something that would happen in the real world.

Uncertain time & age. An interesting approach. The writing is decent. I'm reading on....

Plus - it was great to see Charlie doing well.

One of the best I've read here. I've gotten to know these characters and adore them. They seemed so real and had a lot of heart. The epilogue was a great way to for us to say goodbye. Poka.

That's it @Marzipan, kids don't stay kids - they grow up. Looking at it from Dustin's point of view, he might feel in love with someone - but how will he do when he outgrows his lover's interest range? I think lots of youths have been hurt in this manner. Eric seems sincere & recognizes he is violating societal rules. What is he in love with? The pubertal twink with 'coltish legs' (good one Comsie) or Dustin the person? If he truly loves Dustin, he could keep things cool until he's is of age. Interesting dilemma..

Yes, small epilogue please. This story was so excellent. Its tough to leave it - easily one of the top five for my on @gay authors - . Nice elements: the Russian (I speak and read a little) and the authentic sounding experience of a mental ward (where I've worked), plus a hero's journey through mental health. Nicely done!

I think I liked the original version better but the revision's ending was enjoyable.

What a cheap cliffhanger !! (that I enjoyed!). Great concept and well executed. Not noticing errors in the text, it reads quite naturally.

This is nice seeing them getting to know each other. A few cultural notes for future stories: It's unlikely that high school seniors wont have firm friends and be in a state where they are just getting to know people unless they transferred schools. Your description works for freshman and sophomores. At 17 and seniors, one or both of them will probably drive a car instead of getting a ride from a parent. Everything you wrote is possible, but is less likely assuming the story is set in the USA.

This kid isn't fooling anybody. No suspense here. Unless Daddy preacher has his head in a well, he KNOWS his kid is gay.

Sekaichi Hatsukoi - that's a completely gay anime, so I guess there aren't any doubts about what Peter is interested in.

This is a sweet short story. I like it overall. You should give it another proofreading pass. Try reading it out loud. There are a few areas where the language does not make sense and where the transitions are undefined. I liked that it was emotionally expressive and that it portrayed a sense of nervousness and hesitancy.

I get that, but I do think it is a discontinuity - there were points in the story where having a cell phone would have made a huge difference - like when the car broke down on the way to the award ceremony, for example. I don't care if the Comsie wrote in that he had a phone, but there was no evidence for one in the previous 30 chapters. The severe financial limitations (cant afford shoes) argue against it. Though I'm sure today there are kids struggling for shoes but who have phones. My guess is that there was a significant period of time between writing Chapter 30 and 31 (this story is many years old & I think we just got a new chapter) and Comsie forgot he didn't have a phone in the story beforehand. There was another old story he updated recently which had the same discontinuity. Comicality is probably my favorite author in this genre (along with Columbus Guy, Freethinker, Sequoyah, Ronyx, Geron Kees and a few others!)

Teens dont call their parents "rents'. I'm around kids all the time and I've even asked them about it. It doesn't happen. Nice story though with several points of view.

This story has been amazing as well as emotionally impactful. Keep it up, I'm interested in the worrisome things in the background as well as the plot trajectory. It's been a great ride. I always get excited seeing a new chapter.
