Thank you for this trip through time.Very interesting to see how thing were those days. I remember a lot of things (although I wasn't born yet..yeah right) But I never took a cross country trip on a train. A couple of things got my attention Back then, luggage didn’t have wheels.You with all the smart creative people that were around then I'm amazed it took so long for the luggage companies to think of that. I learned it was because you could buy a brand new house, only a block from the ocean, for around thirty thousand dollars. Whoa how times have changed.Your sister was sitting on a gold mine.Although to be fair property tax was getting outrageous then. I grew up In The San Diego area .Maybe you have found this out since that time but Del Mar had a great yearly summer fair that was very popular. And after the fair ended Del Mar racetrack had their season and a lot of celebrities would attendDesi Arnez of I love Lucy fame was always there.I tripped out when he mentioned Del Mar on an episode of I love Lucy.
