You mentioned football so I'm foreseeing Roy being observed interacting with Cory by some of his future teammates and a few of them approaching Roy saying "You know he's a f-- don't you?" In some HS cultures a jock isn't even allowed to be a friend ler alone a BF. I'm a baseball fan and I know how good Ronald Acuna is but I never really looked at him too close is Cory a fan because he is hot?(believe me I'll look closely next time I see him play) .Having asked that it does sound like Cory is a legit baseball fan he sounds like one of those sabermectric guys if he is then he's pretty smart

Not only did Harland not lie but also not tell the truth he said nothing about being estranged from his Dad but perhaps this wasn't the time and place for that. Something might have been mentioned and I forgot but has any of Bailey's background as it pertains to his parents been mentioned? Elias shows what a smart kid he is by saying "I'd like to hug you. Is that okay?" Rayne may not have had the same issue Elias but Elias knew he had some issues so he was making sure' The project that Bailey will be involved in with Elias I think will also involve Shawn

Like so many other readers I also was touched by the word "Dad". Most of the time hearing a scene described by a talented GA author like @Wayne Gray is lot better then seeing it in a movie or on TV but a scene like this is an exception I would love to see a good actor or actress reaction to that. Parker Owens had a similar scene in one of his great stories it goes to show your great authors minds think alike

I bet that would be a box office hit. The reaction would be panda-monium

Some of the discourse that was mentioned like CEO making 600 times more then thier workers I remember that used to part of the discussion in Washington and everyday life and I haven't heard stuff like that in a while but it is still every bit as true now as it was when it was discussed. Also I don't get around as much as I used to but I don't remember the last time I've seen a Salvation display and someone ringing the bell. Does it still exist or is it all done online? I did learn one unlikely thing I never heard Dominic the Donkey so I guess I will look it up on YouTube. Everything you mentioned is valid and it's been going in the wrong direction for sometime now.
