  1. That was intense. As much as I understand where shank is and how he might be feeling, he is being unnecessarily harsh with Chase. These guys both still love one another but can’t bring themselves to be kind to each other. now was Dawson the tall sexy stranger in the stall? He either was or wasn't, but if he was then he is seriously creepy.

    Before the Storm

As the pressure of the storm builds, so too does the emotional pressure between Taggert and Ash. I’m really enjoying that slow unfolding of the possibilities between them. I do hope they get to shelter together and cuddle up for warmth. 😜
  3. I’m really glad to hear that there is an alternative route for August. Rob will be a slave to their father until the old man pops his clogs and then he might inherit the ranch. But August has the chance to escape and begin his own life thanks to his gran. Grans are amazing and I was lucky to know both my grans and all 4 of my great grannies. I’m glad Fletcher arrived. Another good meeting and trust is slowly being built.

    Chapter 6 Contact

That was a dramatic ending to the chapter! I did not see it coming, although we don’t know for sure what “it” is. Hank’s reaction following the laughter that came from the car, alongside Kevin’s awkward posture does suggest that “it” may well have been at least adjacent to Chase’s bathroom escapade. I’m glad Chase is staying in his father’s condo, that he got an encouraging email response and that he rode out the tears on his long bike ride.
  6. Agreed @raven1 . I wonder if Hank half hoped that Chase would see him and say hello? It was a very bleak image and leads me to believe that Hank has suffered far more deeply than we yet realise.
  7. So Hank turns down Chase’s offer and Chase turns down Dawson’s offer. Of course he accepts Rex’s offer of unconditional love - like only a dog can give. All three of these men are dealing with loss. We don’t know much about Dawson yet but that moment of vulnerability says something. Chase’s email was also straight from the heart. I hope his dad responds.

    Wounded

I am absolutely loving this story! Taggert’s reaction to the injury is noteworthy and may give a clue into his life before arriving at the ranch. Alongside the possibility that he has scars on his back, his determination to ensure Ash is scar-free is important. The tension between these two men is building. Can’t wait to see it break.

    Wounded

That could be it @Bft. It would make sense as stagger is really affected by this accident and the injury.
  10. This chapter is quite somber but the Mac and cheese scene was funny and made me think of my mom making it when I was a kid. She would put tomato slices under the cheese before grilling it. Now what child like hot, soggy, pip-filled tomato touching their grilled cheese? I’m going to see my mom in July and may ask her to make it now that I eat tomatoes and don’t mind pips. if Chase can keep this up, he may well morph into being the emotional carer Hank needs or at least becoming an equal partner. This could change their dynamic and give them a chance.

    Chapter 3 Help

Chase is emerging from the black hole and Dr Chorney is giving him space to reflect honestly. I’m hopeful for Chase. That photo still up is very telling, and Hank will no doubt notice that Chase has taken it but left the pillow. Well done Chase.

    Chapter 2 Pieces

Hank has also lost a dear friend, in Chase’s mum as well as his partner. I’m still a bit thrown off by both of them, but Cindy came across very well. I’m looking forward to seeing how they move forward acknowledging the loss that has occurred on various fronts, but finding ways to forgive and recover to wherever that will take them. It will be really important for both our guys to be utterly honest with themselves if they hope to navigate through this situation.

    Chapter 1 Mired

A very interesting start to this story. I thought I had read all your stories Gary, so I was pleased to see this one mentioned in one of the comments in Roping the Moon. Depression is an insidious beast. Whilst I haven’t suffered from it myself I have seen it ravage members of my family and I hate it with a bitter loathing. I really hope that Chase can free himself of his doubts and self- sabotage.

    Guilty Heart

I’m very glad Theo has finally seen through the evil spirit. I’m hopeful that at least some of the pack, through the cubs, survived and that a Pack Whiteflame can be re-established in due course and continue their work of protecting humanity.

    Chapter 1 The Tree

As so often is the case, the abuser was also abused. Parents who abuse children, have a special place kept aside for them in hell. I feel terribly for Mark, but no amount of abuse can excuse becoming an abuser yourself. Perhaps suicide was the only answer, someone was going to die. I hope Chester can make a new life for himself that has meaning and purpose. And of course, uncomplicated love, if such exists ❤️
  17. Gary, if Albert Cooley is jealous, could it have something to do with his late wife? It seems like she might have been a softening influence in the family but is no longer there to “temper” the old man’s temper. Patrick
  18. Sometimes the lackeys of the tyrant are worse than the tyrant himself. Rob is his father’s lackey and for whatever reason he has it in for his brother August. The Crawleys and Cooley couldn’t be more different if they tried.

    Prosperpina

It is wonderful having George, the naval captain back! He has set out his plans with clarity and vigour and dared anyone to cross him. I think he is going to set a whole new standard in the Spanish navy using some of his own funds. The crew are going to have new uniforms and better food. My goodness he is going to be a Spanish hero all over again by the end of this. He will capture a few hearts too by the look of it 😆🤣

I so badly want to read this , but it is so late and I’m exhausted 😩. Temperature in the Middle East reached 45 degrees Celsius today. Will read in the morning. Enjoy it all you western hemisphere folk. 🙌🏼😆

    Chapter 3:Chaos

An interesting chapter. It has a Dynasty or Dallas feel to it. So much turning on heels and face slapping. 🤣 Alex seems like a good guy. His mum on the other hand may be the original Monster-in-law.
  22. Ah. I wasn’t sure why they had to get married. I didn’t think Gael was the kind of guy that would strike back at Carlos in that way. It certainly horrifies Amanda and Natalie which is rewarding in itself.
  23. It is strange that Gael is just kept on a cell and abused. He is obviously not in policy custody. Alex is being a bit creepy.
  24. Ok so I’m still not convinced there was a pregnancy. Doctor family friend … Amanda is definitely a woman scorned. Perhaps by Gael’s father. Natalie is as vicious as Amanda and I need Gael to wake up.
  25. Something is rotten in Denmark. I don’t think there was ever a baby. Mia is a weak woman. Ian is an abusive bully and Amanda is a psychopath. What a happy little crowd for Gael and Carlos to be around.
