    Epilogue

Well I must be getting soppy because my eyes are very blurry and there is a strange lump in my throat. I will miss these guys, but delighted that they have all had 10 good years with at least another 10 to come. Thank you for a fabulous story.

    Chapter 7

A delightful dinner party is about to begin, I’m sure. 👌🏽 Andrew is a perfect support for Will in the face of his bully father and crazy aunt. I wonder how old Mrs Carter will handle the situation.

    Chapter 6

Jared and Will have found that they are a real support to one another at school. These types of friendships are super valuable.

    Say It Out Loud

A lovely soppy chapter that made me smile and think all is well with the world. But I’m waiting for something to crop up as it always does.
  5. This for me, was the calm before the storm - the storm of ill health revealed, jealousy and betrayal. How happy they were in that precious moment caught on film.

    Ian & Charlie

Can’t wait to see how the threads of this story unfurl.
  7. So Louis is making a group of friends in his new community. Both Ian and Charlie could be helpful. Fingers crossed that he finds love, beside finding the statue.

    Defective Heart

Well I did not expect that! Whilst it doesn’t exonerate Brad from being a dick, it certainly helps us understand him - and of course we must remember he wa only a kid of 21 or so when he was diagnosed. From king of the world to staring at death’s door would have been devastating. I hope Lyn takes Brad’s advice and goes after Alexander.
  9. Another WOW chapter where Lynton and Alexander dance round the truth of what is actually going on here. One, normally so confident, unable to verbalise what he wants in a way that will be considered seriously; and the other too wrapped up in his own internal struggle to present himself as straight, to notice the nuances of Alexander’s statements. It’s all in plain sight, except to those there.
  10. Anxious to know what Brad has to say, so I’m just turning the page immediately.
  11. I could weep for all 3 of these men, boys really. A love triangle of sorts is a devastation as anyone who has been in one will know. All 3 of them have , to some extent focussed on themselves, and in doing so, fail to see what is right in front of them.
  12. It won’t be long before George and the Capitan will be joined - cock-blocked or not.
  13. A great opening chapter. Looking forward to this read.

    Chapter 5

Evil, murder, conspiracy, a little love and you’ve hooked a middle schooler. Good job Will.

    Chapter 3

I must have read this previously and forgotten because I loving it second time around!!

    Chapter 2

Granny has arrived and everybody is slightly off centre as a result. I love Brody’s dry humour and Andrew’s cheery confidence. Despite his father, the minor major as @Summerabbacat rightly calls him, Will has a good circle of supportive family and friends.

    Chapter 1

So Lisa and Brody have broken up and Will is alone at school with Andrew away at university. A great opening chapter. Can’t wait to dive in.
  18. That was a cracker of a chapter and a great deal is revealed, although I suspect there is more to come. Lyn is at a major crossroad now and how he responds will be quite telling about his character. Will he face the storm and work through it? Or, will he run? Let’s see.

    Chapter 25

Don’t touch it. It is beautifully eloquent.
  20. Carter’s Army is a brilliant opening novel to a multi-novel series. The characters are well-developed and the story line engaging. Add to that the fact that the author responds to comments and engages the readers outside of the story and you have a winner. This is a must-read.

    Chapter 25

A poignant ending to the first book and here I go to book 2. I loved it!
  22. Doha

    Chapter 24

I love Micheline already. Andrew has a good mom who is suspect will become a surrogate mom to Will as well.

    Chapter 23

South Africans normally say Merry Christmas as well.
  24. The comments above are interesting and keep us all guessing. I thought this was part of the conversation in which Alexander assures Brad he has no chance with Lyn. And Lyn just happened to walk in on it at a most inopportune time.
