I feel that the upcoming confrontation is decades in the making. Mother's description so far has been almost Spock-like. I would wager that if anything will illicit an emotional reaction it will be growing a couple of new arms and being mated to a previously unknown species. Can't wait till next week!

Fantastic chapter! My senior mother (DO NOT call her elderly) lives with me and is now looking at me oddly because I've been intermittently crying through the chapter. I'm looking forward to the interview. I reread most of Maple Hollow yesterday, which was wonderful again. But I think this chapter shows how you have grown as a writer!

I hadn't heard of this before, the article was fascinating. I'm going to have to do some googling now! I have always loved reading about archeological discoveries. The closest I have ever gotten is finding a deer leg bone under my hundred year old house's crawl space.

I'm a little confused as to why Aric is all of the sudden calling his partner's brothers "uncle". They are Ethan's brothers, not his uncles, aren't they? Otherwise, great chapter. I'm rereading this since another commenter pointed out that Aric and Ethan were in your new story "Empty Shoes".

I loved this chapter! It was emotional without being sappy. I care about your characters. Thank you.

Beautiful first chapter! I look forward to more, even though I know I will need some Kleenex.

I enjoyed the back and forth between the boys and their victorious encounters with the bigots. I'm concerned for Felicity, was the "stop texting" text from her or her husband? If it was the abuser, did Felicity suffer from it? I'm hoping that Emily knowing will help more than her son in law suspecting. Still, unless she is ready to take the plunge, no amount of "help" will really matter. It's similar to an addict or alcoholic quitting, you have to be in the right mental state to accept that it needs to end. I think she will get there, but hopefully in one piece.

CJ is like the sun, pulling everyone in with his gravity to rotate around him! Will any of these new guys be getting a familiar tattoo?

I don't trust any of the scientists, but a few of them would love nothing more than to stun all three of our beloved family and run a bunch of tests. It goes without saying that the military guys would favor stun first and question later. Hopefully there is a diplomatic type who doesn't want to piss off a new, technologically advanced race.

The way I read it, the pompous lecture came when CJ first arrived, the breakfast where it was discussed happened the morning after the event, so no new lecture yet. The boss will probably be jealous that CJ made the news. I hope that CJ doesn't get sucked in to CIA spy crap!

But is Bouncer's idea of "play" the same as the kid's? I don't think there is any coming back from Bouncer eating the kid!

What a wonderful thanksgiving surprise! A couple of my followed stories just completed and I was facing a dreadful lack of entertainment. Thank you Carlos, I'm so glad you're back!

We finally have progress! Essell and Garjah make a good team. I can't imagine taking a child on a first contact mission!

CincyKris commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 16 Roped and Tied
Beautiful ending! I loved the sexy and tender moments between the two. I can see them having many years together.- 98 comments

The Man with Butterscotch Hair
CincyKris reviewed Cole Matthews's story in 2021 - Fall - A Winding Path
This is everything I want in a short story! We get a great little mystery with an unsettling undertone. Perfect the way it it is, but would be a good starting point for a full novel if the author wishes to pursue it.-

This is a wonderfully fresh take on shifter stories. Our hero is a young deer shifter who is thrust into the human world he has rarely experienced since childhood. We get a character study, a romance, a fish-out-of-water comedy, as well as a really good shifter story.

Great ending (for now?) to a fantastic story! I laughed at Cyn's experience at the airport, I just flew a couple weeks ago and saw a human with the same reactions! I can imagine our couple running through the wooded trails in their animal forms. I hope we check in on them again some time in the future. I appreciate the rich, unique character-driven story you created. Thank you!

This is my favorite anthology entry! Loved the mystery, so many unanswered questions.

Eric keeps adding new accomplishments to his scorecard. This was a big one! Timing is everything. A few months ago, Eric would not have been well equipped to meet with Rob. But now, the Pygmalion-like transformation is far enough along for Eric to manage a conversation. Hopefully a face-to-face meeting will follow.

What are you up to????

I wish I could see their faces when they see all those arms!!! Interesting that the Sonez didn't report him missing. Apparently a certain captain was hoping Essell would disappear.

I'm just reading this story for the first time having just finished (so far) Damian's Wolf. I can understand Dylan's reticence towards other Nekos because of Damian's experiences with his own non-calico kind. I don't understand Margaret's attitude towards her own son. I wonder if she hates being a wolf as much as Jordan and is taking it out on him? I certainly wouldn't mind if she fell off a cliff, other than the effect it might have on Jason.

I loved this joyous chapter! I enjoyed Coy's self-imposed suffering, it made the good news even better. I'm sad that we are close to the end, but am hoping that this little slice of paradise called Larkspur will be the setting for some future stories? I don't want to be greedy, I'll take any nuggets you decide to toss us whenever you want!

Seeing Key get the better of a smug Eike was very satisfying! Good to see that Cyn and Sam are ok. I'm so jealous that a shift takes away their aches and pains!

Always Regretting Yesterday
CincyKris commented on James Matthews's story chapter in Always Regretting Yesterday
I love the realistic aspects of this story. Obviously there is a lot more drama than would happen in real life, we do want to be entertained, after all. But we see what really happens with couples that get together when they are so young. A few stay together forever, but most do not. People mature a lot in their twenties, I know I'm not the same person now that I was in my early twenties.
