I was so happy to get an update on Gus and Harry and enjoyed the banter from the parents. Hopefully we'll hear in a future update that James, Francine, and Gus have left conservative Redding to live closer to Dan, Laura, and Harry. I don't think I've ever been camping as an adult without a little day drinking!

I liked this chapter, I think that all the boys grew a little bit. I hope that Dean gets some professional help, he really needs it. I also hope that he tells his parents, both for his own sake and to stop this predator from hurting anyone else.

Starting to look like he might have to compete with Shaun for Jack's attention!

On one hand, I'm mad that Eike got away, on the other hand that means more chapters! I was impressed that Cyn walked up to a strange wolf and introduced himself. He's come a long way from Arric scaring the pee out of him! Now Hauser has that distinction. I think they should let the bunnies pass judgement!

We have some clues starting to coalesce, but this stills feels like we are early into our story (I hope). It's no wonder Michael's eyes seem familiar! I look forward to the Miami surveillance, and especially to the moment where Patrick discovers the familial bond. I kind of hope he finds out before Ford and Michael. I'd love to see what he does with the information. That's assuming that Ford doesn't already know. On a side note, is it any wonder that Patrick is a little unhinged with those bedtime stories!

Hopefully the worst is over for Jack! Now that his mum is not at home, he has no good excuse to keep taking the abuse. Joey has been struggling with his orientation in a fairly leisurely manner. I think the pace just picked up!

Chapter 2 Life and Death
CincyKris commented on Headstall's story chapter in Chapter 2 Life and Death
I'm excited to hear the back story of Mitch and Will. Sorry to find out it is probably lung cancer, that was my guess as well. Mitch acted as a matchmaker for Boone and Coy, now it's time to return the favor. Mitch deserves to be happy for the time he has left.- 60 comments

Poor Jack. Poor Dean. I feel for both of them. They think more of their families than they do of themselves. Joey has become their confessor. He must feel like he's got the weight of the world on his shoulders. Does he protect his friends by betraying their confidences? What happens if the next time is the one that kills them?

I'm hoping that Greg will convince the bosses to make Craig redundant, Craig will get his going away check, Greg will be made supervisor, and the whole division will go pear-shaped. Tits-up. Total crap-fest. Regardless, I think Craig is getting closer and closer to pulling the plug on his old career and starting his new life in the country. And I still don't like Archie.

The last line indicates that Dean had a bad experience when he was 14. Up to now, I'm not a fan of him or Maddie. I agree that Jack's dad needs some jail time.

Perhaps if M'rell had paid more attention to wingsecond training, some of their future animosity could have been avoided.

Chapter 25: Eerie Employment
CincyKris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 25: Eerie Employment
Great chapter, we got to check up on a bunch of characters. Looking forward to the mage dance (and the mating dance).- 37 comments

I'm with some of the above commenters. I think there is a big difference between building the tension and frustrating inaction. I'm about ready to give up as well.

I don't honestly know whether Puppy and Hunter will end up together. And I love that! A story that actually leaves me guessing! With all the changes and trauma that Puppy has been through, it's easy to forget that Steven has been through trauma as well. He is 17 and hormonal and he is closer to Puppy than he is to anyone else. I hope he sorts his feelings out in a more appropriate way.

Wow, that was quite a homecoming! I hope Bouncer leaves the rest of the house in one piece because there will be no supervision for a while!

I googled the Bond movie, it came out in 1999. Is this story set 22 years ago?

Well, I guess I was wrong with my prediction that they are twins!
-
I agree, I think his dad kicked him out for being gay. I hope Jason is not too badly injured.

I am tempted to go back and look at the tags, but I won't, I am predicting they are twins. Jason is adopted. I will not read ahead, so I guess I'll find out eventually.

A four-year degree earned 30 years ago certainly does not make me an expert, but I would give Josh a less than even chance of refusing Kai in the near future. When Josh stops loving and hating, forgives himself, and starts feeling indifferent towards Kai, he stands a chance.

Right after graduating with a degree in psychology I worked with victims of domestic violence. So many blamed themselves and excused the abusive behavior because blaming the abuser meant ending it and being alone. A very scary prospect considering the abuser always made the victim dependent on him (or her). The dependence was financial, physical, social, and/or emotional. We don't know yet how Josh broke away, but surviving this ordeal is an achievement.

I can't help but wonder if Hunter's aggression towards Puppy was a defense mechanism. He was carrying so much guilt and self hatred that he lashed out at Puppy, trying to either drive him away or fight back, because he thought he didn't deserve love. On a side note, I'm hoping that Cindy's viewpoint will convince her new father into making changes to the kid prison.

I couldn't agree more! I was hooked by the first paragraph, concerned for Daisy. I'm so happy to have my Monday obsession back! Can't wait for more Boone, Coy, Daisy, Blue, Duke, and now Mitch and the new colt. Thank you!

You have us on an emotional roller coaster! Last chapter I felt a little sorry for Hunter, but mostly I was angry at him and wanted Puppy to stay as far away as he could. Now I feel sympathetic towards Hunter, Taylor, and Puppy. But not towards Cassie! What kind of best friend lets someone they care about go down a destructive path and just enables and eggs him on because trying to help would not be cool. She cares more about being the "edgy angsty teen". Please don't make me feel sympathetic towards her in the next chapter.

I so hope Puppy ends it with Hunter. Maybe Hunter will pull himself out of the self destructive and dangerous lifestyle he's been living, but probably not anytime soon. If Puppy stays with him, he will be dragged down also.
