Davey's mom keeps going up in my estimation. The social services director, the opposing principle, and the school board members not so much.

Ok maybe she's not completely useless. I still don't understand parents who choose a spouse over their own children (who are innocent of wrongdoing). Loved the romantic ending.

Well that went better than most child removals. I'm worried about Jenny. Now that her protector is gone, will her dad try to molest her again? Mom seems somewhat useless.

Wow, I did not expect that. I'm glad he told them. Even though he was making positive changes to his life, he had to have felt alone and isolated. We don't always make the best decisions when there are no checks and balances.

One of the great things about time travel stories is that there are so many possible outcomes and possibilities and no one can prove or verify anything. As an author, you have free reign. Loving the story.

It sounds like he's making huge changes regarding himself and his family. The real question is how far reaching these changes will be.

I'm reading this for the first time. I saw the sequel on the new stories page and it looked intriguing, but one can't read the sequel before the original. I really enjoyed the first chapter.

Wow, there was a lot going on in that chapter. They finally had an actual conversation, which is good, but I don't think either is on the same page yet. I guess I'm less frustrated by Matt, but I still think he's stubbornly holding on to "typical college kid". That ship has sailed! In his head, he is the college kid who is raising his brother. In reality, he is an adult who is now a parent. Aidan needs a dad (or two), not a big bro. There are a lot of "non-traditional" college students, some by choice and some by circumstance. I don't think Matt has truly made the transition to adulthood/parenthood. As for the Kelly bombshell, it does add a lot of complexity to my view of Seamus.

I've read several stories set in Australia, but never visited the katoomba (virtually). The pictures look amazing. I hope the fires didn't devastate it.

I'm very much enjoying this story, whether it focuses on Jeff and Paul, Raymond and Daniel, or the princess. I just checked the views -- over 2400. Still not enough, but a lot better than 3 years ago. This is a hidden gem!

On my god, did I already say Matt was oblivious last chapter? I need another word for most oblivious to the millionth degree!!!! He just casually dropped the info that he's leaving with Aidan for the whole summer - AND - moving out when he gets back to the guy that's in love with him, in love with aidan, and is Aidan's primary 24/7 caretaker. Why would he be upset? Seriously? I'm starting to think the differences in their maturity levels are too much for them to make this relationship work.- 37 comments

I am sooooo glad I didn't have time to read this before going to work this morning! I am mad at Zoltan, mad at Heinrich, sad for Rick, sad for Gus. On one hand, you have me all discombobulated so I'm mad at you, on the other hand, you have me caring so much for these characters I love you. I'm going to go eat dinner and calm down.

You were preaching to the choir 😁! I am a self-confessed liberal heathen, which makes me quite the minority in my very conservative county. My mom and sister both go to a moderately liberal church (no hate speech, more love your neighbor type preaching). I have no issues with them and they have no issues with me. I think my moral compass is as strong as theirs, I just don't believe in their mythology.

Ok, so first of all, I loved the chapter. If you read this comment, you probably read my comment/rant a couple chapters back (defending the scene that precipitated the fall-out). I promise I didn't read ahead when I wrote that. Apparently great minds think alike, because you used very similar arguments in this chapter. Hey, maybe I have a little Julie in me.

I loved the hot scene between Jeff and Paul. I believe it was just that -- a scene. This was not abusive, coerced, or humiliation. It was not a life changing decision to begin a master/slave relationship. Just a fun, exciting evening for two committed adults. I don't understand the difference between condemnation of gay sex in general and the type of sex two (or more?) consensual adults have. Who am I to approve what people who are not me do in bed (or on sheepskin)? Ok, I'm off my soap box. Add me to the list of Larry & Runt fans.

Unlike a couple of frustrated back seaters, I finished this chapter a very satisfied person! My suspicion of brotherly love was confirmed and a horrible mother got a public dressing down. Only real problem was a Maria drought.

Great chapter. I love seeing bullies get their due, I'm looking forward to the potential takedown. Really loved the history, more please. Really, really loved the hot sheepskin rug scene, much more please. And finally, I'm excited about Christmas getting here. I feel like 24's Keifer Sutherland is going to show up and join Ilya's soldaty. You could have called this "1 week".
