Not to defend him but reading this chapter somewhat 'exonerated' Jace...His fear of the unknown made him change into a prick. Imagine having your life upended by a 'miracle pregnancy'..especially since it's something you never imagined would happen or that you planned on at such a young age. He recognised that he has stupid and was just on the cusp of starting to make amends when egomaniacal Elijah came in and sent him adrift all over again. Only this time his adversary is an extremely wealthy egomaniac who is hell bent on asserting his control without any qualms.

Oh this poor young boy!..he is emotionally all over the place and that never ends well..it is sad for a lad of Noah's age to be so duplicitous even the naive Nicky noticed it.

This was yet another epic episode of this story...I almost wish next week could come in the blink of an eye. That said ...I could not help but feel sorry for Lynton. Whatever happened to his family seriously eroded his self-esteem to the extent that he takes overcompensation to another level. He has masked himself that I am inclined to believe he does not even who the real him is. From his keeping up appearances act in College to the present ..Even when it comes to his sex partners...he is hiding himself and yet sex is where people let go..let the masks slip but even then he cannot. His choice of partners(twinks who are smaller than him in size and endowment) and his macho posturing with Alexander in that dark room .The way he was thinking about his sexual prowess.(from slow to hard fucking if I remember correctly) is him trying relentlessly to maintain the illusion that he is dominant ,that he is in control. Reading this chapter just opened another insight into Lynton 's psyche!..That lad is a broken fella trying so hard not to unravel completely ..I cannot wait for next week long enough😂😂.. Thank you!

Because he is stuck in the past..it doesn't seem to register that they have changed ..that they are not the same people they were 8 years ago !.His mind set is still stuck on that man whore version of Alexander from College .

I agree ..lately @Laura S. Fox is leaning into allegory like crazy...especially with this story!..So one has to re-read a chapter in order to be able to understand 😂

You couldn't have stated it better ..we are damned if we do and damned if we don't ...I remember the first story @vanalas wrote here..the one of Praveen...I wanted to stop reading because the other main lead was being a git....my resolve lasted a few days before went back to read ..and back then Vanalas was updating regularly..even twice in a week😂

That's why this story has to rank among the best Laura has written ...it's like a movie..each chapter bringing more clarification.. Alexander genuinely cares and am inclined to believe too that he has loved Lynton from the onset.. @Laura S. Fox is right....Lyn is DENSE...a fact that Alexander calls him out for in this chapter . Twice.. This chapter showed yet another facet of Lyn ..the macho posturing ...him fighting so hard to deny himself the enjoyment he is deriving from Alexander's fellatio. This lad has masked himself so tightly ...chances of illumination happening seem slim..eh.. Thank you @Laura S. There is a song in my country...well the plot is about this woman who likes me a man who likes another woman yet that other woman likes another man...reading the chapter was nostalgic since that song was a hit when it aired back in 2012 in my country...It's kind of a cautionary tale about liking someone who might just not be that into you😂

Sometimes being blunt saves times...it helps sift through the bullshit(pardon my language)😂

@vanalas...your 'cruelty' has no limits...you give us a family finally reunited ..only to take it away.. I love your work really...but there is a pattern that have noticed that is kind of a pet peeve for me. I know it's a story...fiction and we are supposed to suspend disbelief but there is only so much we can suspend😂..I do not know if the law system in your universe has rules but this last scene is a bit ...over the top. You prefer to use the class system trope in your works but even you outdid yourself this time with Elijah taking away Rain from his legal father. I do not know from which part of the world you come from, but am inclined to believe something like that does not happen..I come from Uganda,East Africa but even a rich person wouldn't trample on a poor person like you potrayed Elijah at the JaNoah(that's the name am going with in my head😂).. The other pet peeve is sometimes you make your characters become caricatures(Elijah) ..and all the other egomaniacs you have written over the years....Now that am done expressing my frustration with yours truly .. I like the way Jace realized he was wrong and even though it seemed rushed and not earned ..You gave him depth ..someone who is flawed and recognises that they are flawed. I am inclined to believe the coming few weeks are going to take us on a journey with JaNoah and I for one am excited . Thank you for this update and looking forward to next week.
