Thanks, Yettie One. I've talked with many teachers over the years and I think every one of them has a handful of students that they still wonder about. Did I do my best? Did I help them succeed? Unfortunately, those questions are never answered for them. Thank you for the feedback.

The story was very sad, yet incredibly touching. I had an uncle like that, devoted and caring, even when his wife developed dementia and often didn't even know who he was. He was there by her side every day, right up to the end. That indeed takes enormous strength and love. It also made me wonder what the dispute was about. It's so sad that it kept them apart for so long. Life is short and there's not enough time for such disagreements. Thanks for sharing, Aditus.

I'm not sure I understood this one. Obviously his wife had broken their vows, but did she cripple or kill their child? Or did he blame his child's condition on her dishonoring him? I feel his pain, I just can't quite define it. I also apologize for the multi posts to the last poem. Not sure if it was my computer of the site that caused the problem.

What a lovely tribute to those who fought and died in the Great War. Who's to say that there wasn't a real Owen who suffered in similar ways, for we know there were a great many like Todd and the other men from the village that never returned? When I was growing up, I worked on my next door neighbor's farm. He fought in World War I and suffered from 'shell shock', which we now refer to as PTSD. Although he wasn't gay, I'm certain he would have been honored by your thoughts and tribute.

I was intrigued to see how I, um I mean Bill, solved the problem and captured the prize. Interesting read, Wayne. Very detailed and kept me captivated from beginning to end.

Renee, a very enjoyable and sweet tale. I liked the different take you had on the theme and how your characters made a 'real' family tree. After spending a good portion of the beginning of this year tracing my own family tree, it had special meaning for me. Great job and I truly enjoyed it.
