  3. Here's the story behind Tears in Heaven. I'll warn you, it's a real tearjerker.
  4. Kieren watched in silence as the conversation continued, but he was still stinging from the wizard’s mild rebuke in front of the others. When the discussion eventually ebbed, the steward led the party into the massive main building, where they would be housed. As they started up the elaborate stairway, Nathar informed them they would be staying in quarters set aside for honored dignitaries and other high-ranking officials when they visited Leander. Kieren wasn’t paying a great deal of at

  9. After leaving Kieren and going off on their own, the two young elves burst across the street and bolted into the baker’s shop. The enticing aroma of the freshly baked breads and pastries filled the air. It caused their mouths to water and their stomachs to rumble, as their minds busily raced over the possibilities that awaited them. Once they were inside the shop, they were able to see rows of breads, with each type displayed in a separate wicker basket. They could also see piles of fru

  12. You didn't mention if their appearance led you to believe they seemed to honestly be down and out or if they merely seemed to be taking advantage of the situation. I would suspect the latter, since I don't see ice cream as being at the top of my list if I were really destitute. However, as Zombie stated, it's a fairly harmless stunt.
  13. I'd have to go with this song, Tears in Heaven (If I Saw You in Heaven), by Eric Clapton If you want to go back a little farther, here are two others. Honey by Bobby Goldsboro and Alone Again (Naturally) by Gilbert O'Sullivan
  14. As Kieren and the others drew closer to the castle, the walls began to tower over them. Since the boys had only seen the tree dwellings of the elves prior to this, they marveled at the size of this mighty citadel. Kieren was equally impressed with the massive materials that had been required to build this imposing structure. The individual stones used in its construction were so large that each one dwarfed the next. He quickly realized that if one of these blocks should become dislodged and
  15. Happy Birthday, KC! And many, many more!
  16. Good luck with this. Long distance relationships are fairly tough as it is, but to add the fact that the other individual doesn't think he's gay adds a whole different level to the problem. I think for your own peace of mind you'll need to clarify that issue first and find out what his true feelings are for you. Then, if he's not gay, you'll have to decide if you're willing to have a platonic relationship/friendship with him. It won't be easy either way, so I wish you the best.
  17. It's amazing that people in English speaking countries understand each other after looking at those lists.
  18. Once again, the three teenagers rode at Beraut’s side and hoped the wizard would impart even more enlightening and intriguing information. He didn't disappoint them and explained what he'd done after learning about the foul deed Madumda perpetrated when he ordered King Orthilue’s family slaughtered. The images that Beraut painted with his words allowed Kieren to actually visualize the events in his mind, so he could experience how the day had unfolded.
  19. Happy Birthday, Mark!
