    Obsessed

Vic.................. ..................... enough said. About that cute guy, btw, I think it's perfectly understandable if you didn't want to have an "anonymous encounter" (i.e. unexpected, dirty, abrupt, dangerous, smelly, sketchy encounter).
  3. Love these, especially "Peter's" answer. I feel like using this face, though: because... I might pull a "Peter" in the very near future. Eheh.
  4. Nicely done... more fish in your sea.
  5. My parents, who regularly stuffed me so full of food that it came back out again, never believed I ate enough. Therefore, they hung a huge version of the word chi, which means "eat" in Chinese, on the refrigerator and forced my poor one-year-old self to chirp it without stop.
  6. I think the author's blurb takes the cake.
  7. Actually I think Charlotte's Web is widely considered as one of the greatest children's books ever written. That, and Watership Down, or something. It's brilliant, one way or another. Dear Wilbur, dear Charlotte. Oh gosh, you're making me sentimental.
  8. Chiaroscuro. After plundering his mouth, pull back and just barely touch lips.
  9. I rather agree... The voice is nice, but not amazing -- she's got no chest voice for the lower notes, and the fake vibrato annoys me. I don't even think the judges admitting that they are often too quick to judge based on external appearances is even very genuine. I got more of a feeling of "Look -- we even appreciate ugly people!" than "looks don't matter". But that's not to mean I dislike Susan Boyle. I wish her all the best and am sure she'll finally get a job.
  10. I had no idea -- thanks for posting. I've now sent an email to Amazon and mentioned it on my facebook.
  11. Kevin -- wow. That is, like, a long post. Andy -- yeah, I'll not mention the bifocals minus focal, but that seems a bit hyper-sensitive? old bob -- ahh, true love. As for me... physically, I gravitate towards people who're lean but not emaciated. Reasonable amounts of body hair are fine. And not too short, please? In terms of other "qualifications," I like people who don't talk too much, people who can spout out a lot of amusing nonsense, and nerds. Nerd-love.
  12. For what it's worth, coming from someone you don't know at all, I was very moved but the stories you've been so kind as to post on GA, and I think you have a beautiful soul. Take care.
  13. Happy birthday!
  14. I learned everything in the "family life" class. I couldn't believe it. I remember charging back home after our "family life" video and demanding of my mom -- "MOM, did Dad put his ------ !?!?!?" That was seventh grade, I think. Kind of late. (And to think how I've progressed from there! Just kidding...) I commend you for that. Your boys will probably have an unique view of what it means to be gay, heh.
  15. Abstinence is my last name, and True Love are my middle initials.
  16. lol, Kevin, next time that happens, follow Sharon's suggestion!
  17. Hey, welcome to GA! This is a pretty, ah, impressive first post. I imagine we all need our own green pebble every so often.
  18. That's so bizarre -- a masturbating creep and then a bitchy goat. I somewhat admire your vacationing boldness. Keep it up.
  19. Although it's not like you can possibly be homewrecker (or the non-married equiv) if your girlfriend's guy is straight. Read some Nietzsche and cast off all guilt! Or you can light a candle or something at your local guilt-center (i.e. church). If not to the Virgin Mary, then to Mary Magdalene.
  20. I was going to say in a very Grinch-like voice that No, I hadn't been hugged today, until I realized that I had......
  21. Happy birthday!

    Books

boo! yay! Wow, I thought I and ____ were the only people who read this. They're exceptionally beautiful. People who snort at scifi should this, really. Wow, is Death with Interruptions a new book? Didn't Seeing just hit the market? He's a busy old man, he is. Haven't read this, but the title is hilarious... My list, with the caveat that not all these books are *still* my favorites, nor were they necessarily ever *the* favorite, and not all of them have I read completely (sounds illegitimate... but yeah). In chronological order: The Giver, Lois Lowry The Journey to the West (Xi You Ji), Wu Cheng'en The Hero and the Crown, Robin McKinley Les Miserables, Victor Hugo Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils (Tian Long Ba Bu), Jin Yong Gone With the Wind, Margaret Mitchell The Lord of the Rings, JRR Tolkien Harry Potter, JK Rowling Beloved, Toni Morrison Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen Blindness, Jose Saramago Lolita, Nabokov The Master and Story of the Night, Colm Toibin The Master and Margarita, Bulgakov
  23. Ah, a man after my own heart. Or at least my grade school proclivities. If you think about it, it's terribly ironic that hope's the deepest -- i.e. worst -- item in Pandora's box. It is, after all, the thing that makes us live on in the stupid belief that things would get better, or that the impossible might happen.

    Sunny day

When you're old and arguably retired? And happy (belated) birthday.... actually if there was a thread I probably said it already..... but yeah. Have fun being 25.
  25. You're totally not alone in getting obsessed with someone after minimal contact. It makes no sense, and it's upsetting and totally painful in a way... I have a theory, though, for how it works -- as in, that this kind of obsession happens only when one's guard is down, meaning that it'll happen only once for the first time (the cliched "first love"), and go away until one's guard is down again. But I really do understand how horrible it can be, and how irrational. It doesn't matter if the guy is actually quite boring and wouldn't be a good match in the long run. A word of advice though, don't send this guy any heat-of-the-moment messages or stuff like that. It'll just be embarrassing in hindsight. But I'm sure you're smart enough to not make that kind of mistake. Anyway...
