  1. Hi, I could advise you some good books, but they are all written in German, so I don`t know if this would be useful. Form my own experience I think, you shouldn`t worry to much about this. Kids at the age of 4 start just to realize that there are different genders at all. If he is naming things like girl nails or colors or whatever, he probably tries to find a system behind things. My son wanted his nails painted at the age of four, too. All his friends had nail polish, so he did it with an edding pencil. I decided to paint them with real nail polish, because it is healthier. I think we both had fun and this was this. Maybe your son wanted girl nails, maybe it is just a thing he finds pretty in the moment, time will tell. As long as you yourself concentrate to think of your kid as human being and not only boy or girl, everything is fine, I guess. That is what I try to do. It is not only us, who are an influence to them so they get a lot of male/female role-models, that bring them to find definitions to gender. And at some point in life, they have to make up their own mind and the best thing we could do, is make them strong and critical and show them, that whatever they decide doesn`t change our feelings for them. P.S. When we were at an amusement park, I stayed with my little daughter 3 years old, because she was to young to join in some of the carrousels. She asked me, if we both stayed out, because we were girls. I explained her, that woman and girls can do everything that boys can, if they are old enough. ;-) I think she will rule the world someday.
  2. I had already planned to do that. Are there certain phrases or terms that work better than others? Does a non-college graduate with a collegiate-level vocabulary have any chance of success?
  3. I have no information about LGBTQ participation, but at least in California, many school sports programs have been cut due to budget restraints and the over-emphasis on high performance on standardized test results. Fewer programs might mean more competition for participation in the remaining programs. And in California, the suburban schools tend to have more discretionary money for lavish sports facilities that urban schools cannot afford – the difference is related to apportionment favoring newer schools as well as wealthier parents funding well-funded PTA groups that subsidize the ‘extras’ like sports and the arts.
  4. I am a client at a nonprofit that serves mainly the homeless and the formerly homeless (I fall in the latter category). One of the services they offer is free use of clothes washers and dryers. If you don’t think that’s important, just think about the last time you sat on public transit and the stench reached you several rows away as soon as a reeking homeless person got on. If you had an extremely limited or no income, would you prioritize food or laundry? The machines that the facility has are old, inefficient and often break down due to heavy use (as well as some abuse). They really need to replace them with industrial-grade machines that are energy efficient. There is a major oil refinery in the area that likes to brag about all the good the company does for the area. Jobs, employee volunteering, and grant making. This is to counter decades of bad publicity from refinery fires, chemical releases, attempts at meddling with local politics, and the general bad image of the entire oil industry. They do fund a lot of programs in the area, including the Rescue Mission I stayed at frequently when I was homeless and an interfaith religious charity that also assisted me. They brag about a 3D printer lab they donated to a high school too. But the nonprofit I go to for therapy is not one of those organizations. I would like to try writing a Grant Proposal, but I’ve never done one before. No one at the nonprofit seems to have written one either. I was told you need to have special training in the art of Grant Writing. Has anyone else done it? How difficult is it to do? When I first became homeless, I applied for Social Security Disability benefits by myself because I thought that’s how it’s done. I later found out that several of the nonprofits I used have people on staff who were specifically trained on Social Security benefits applications and that you weren’t supposed to apply without knowing what keywords and phrases to use. I was told I probably wouldn’t win my case since I didn’t have the training to do it.. But, I guess I did okay because I eventually did win my case (Depression and Anxiety).

    Chapter 55

Be if for protection in prison or even just as a fraternity of brotherhood or just love. I think it should be ‘Be it’ or ‘Whether it is.’ My family wasn’t big on hugs until my brothers and cousins started having kids. The kids changed the family and now I get hugs from my favorite Aunt & Uncle as well as my cousins, brothers, and sisters-in-law. But my nieces and nephews are mostly in that in-between age when you don’t hug your weird Gay Uncle. ;-)
  6. See how strong you are! In German the word for disappointment is called Enttäuschung. Which literally means "getting of an illusion". My father always told me, Enttäuschungen hurt, but they are something good. because you get shot of an illusion and can start new from this point. I try to see it that way, if I get bad news. It is not always easy, but it helps sometimes. Hugs Lyssa
  7. I would have been mortified if someone had seen me like that – of course, I would never allow myself to be put in that situation in the first place. I’m much too inhibited. ;-)

Thank you for giving us another glimpse of Joel, Lucas, and Mason! ;-) I’m happy to have inspired you! I've sent Timothy M several bunches of inspiring images of ‘Jazz,’ but they seem to have had the opposite effect and we’re all still waiting for him… I guess he’s had to deal with too much drool – or something. ;-)

    Chapter 12

After that cliffhanger, it’s no wonder why you don’t reply to Reviews! So now Landon gets put to death for murder or attempted murder of the new King and the old king is banished. Maybe they need a new form of government with a Town Council instead of a King. It’s kind of small to be a kingdom anyway. Our prisons and full of minor criminals and the streets are full of filth. I think that first ‘and’ should be an ‘are.’

    Chapter 8

Obstacles? Mainly just the one: Closet-Boy! (He’s even got a Super Villain name!) Actually, I don’t hate Alek. I feel sorry for him. He’s trapped in a culturally prescribed role that he doesn’t fit into. Alex just isn’t a good match for Liam.
  12. I’m not sure if this is up permanently, or if it’ll only be free during March 2017, but you can learn more about Del Martin (played by Rosie O’Donnell in When We Rise) and Phyllis Lyon in , a documentary on the Frameline channel on YouTube. They were the first couple married when then-Mayor Gavin Newsom instructed the City/County Clerk to issue Marriage Licenses to same-sex couples.
  13. That is sweet of you Carlos and I appreciate the information! Thank you. I am not so much into stories with teenagers, because I have to deal the whole day with them at work. So I was so thrilled about American steels relaxed adult´s point of view. I think American steel has an enormous potential. I could imagine a lot of different ways, were this story could go. So I stay curious. I will give CJ a chance. Hugs Lyssa

    Chapter 8

Good to see Liam making little steps forward, but like in real life, there are obstacles on the way. Nice chapter!!
  15. So I have to wait patiently. Hm. But I can understand, that to stories at the same time is juggling.

So TP/Wally has a name! And he’s not rushing to have sex with Graham! He’s finally thinking with his heart instead of his libido. He’s even gotten to know things about Graham as a person before they ever kissed. Even if they later decide they aren’t compatible, this is much more than Wally (to avoid a spoiler) has managed in the past.
  17. A red Audi A5. Disjointed images that eventually resolve into a bull and a bullfighting ring. A man walks in front of the bull in the ring. He manages to get the bull to lie down. The red Audi drives off down the road. The backstory that makes this ad ironic: Audi AG owns Automobile Lamborghini S.p.A. which is known for naming its cars after famous fighting bulls. Lamborghini also controls Ducati. The Audi R8 is based on the Lamborghini Gallardo platform.

    Surviving

You love your tortured ‘straight’ guys in denial, don’t you? Of course it’s Matt’s fault that Jake is so confused and upset! It couldn’t possibly be Matt’s own fault, could it? ;-) More please – but prioritize Dissonance.
  19. What a wonderful cousin Fiona turned out to be! I haven’t seen my older cousins (my father’s side) in 3 or 4 decades. I’m in contact with most of the cousins on my mother’s side (all younger). We have big gaps in ages because most of my relatives waited and got married fairly late in age, mostly around 30 or so. I don’t know what it’s like to interact with relatives who are older than me, but aren’t a whole generation older like my aunts and uncles. I guess meeting Fiona was a good trade-off for missing Michael (and Peter). Since I’m on Valkyrie’s waiting list for Joels, can you put me on a waiting list for a Dane like Peter? (I had to phrase that very carefully!) (ColumbusGuy can ask for Rob, but I’m waiting for Jazz.)

    Chapter 44

I shook my head. “I’ve never heard anyone say be careful for this trip.” I grinned. This line seems off. We got pretty far the first night. The village in the distance and we made camp as the sun was setting. The second line seems to be missing something more re: the village. ”You’re a nice looking man, but should someone attract you’re attention? I think you’re a very nice guy.” Your, not you are. And you’re heart.” Your, not you are. Lots of minerals. So they have the raw materials that they can use to trade for other goods. And their metal craft seems to be another useful item for commerce with Blethos & A’Dore. There are definitely possibilities – as long as they don’t become an economic colony of the other two kingdoms, only selling raw materials and buying only finished goods.

    Chapter 2

My first thought when I heard Bailey say, ‘With dad gone… all…’ was that Bailey’s dad had died. Maybe it’s based on my own experiences or too many other GA stories, but I didn’t think dad was away on business trips. Even though some of the stories I’ve been reading have recently had some sex scenes that were, shall we say, a bit overwhelming, I’m kind of disappointed that this story is labeled ‘no sex.’ It makes me wonder just where this story will end up. ;-)
  22. Maybe you both should just stop to ask, how this comes and concentrate more on that you feel so. I do not think, you need to feel guilty about your feelings, nor your mother needs to feel guilty about her decision. It is a good thing, that you can name two steps in communication, the description of what happened and you feelings about this. Perhaps you can go on, finding the words for the need that is behind this feeling, maybe safety, contact to your mother, attention or what ever. Every need is just this: A need and therefore to respect. If you found out about this, one could make a performable request, to get this need fulfilled. Sometimes there is only an inward clarification necessary to feel better, sometimes there is actually something the other person can do. And being a mother myself, I would be happy if my daughter tells me, what I can do, to help her fell better. But if I don`t get told, I couldn`t change/do anything. So don`t feel bad about your argument, you worked a lot out for yourself. And mothers arn`t perfect, sometimes they need just time, to get their brains around stuff to understand. Hug you.
  23. So I get really suspicious. Everything seems to evolve really easy and well. Hm.... makes me think, that something is lurking. Great chapter! Hug you.

    Chapter 4

William, Ellis, and Arden? I think I’m reading too many stories at the same time. I’m getting them mixed up and I’m confused…
  25. It’s amazing how distracting all these ads are after having seen this commercial-free! But apparently, we buy lots of cars, switch phone plans frequently, see lots of movies, use makeup and hair color, eat healthy food, and need loans to pay for everything. At least that’s how I interpret what the marketers think about us…
