I am so glad that Tyler is finding himself so comfortable and even found a playmate; I don't think it is anything but physical release; but that can be very important from time to time. I understand why going after the most recent taken; but I would have worked the other way. I would worry that even a few more weeks or months might make those taken earlier go feral and how horrible if you just missed getting to them in time. I can't wait for the teams to hit the road; and they have the machines to do so. Let's hope they are able to start filling the new areas at the lodge faster than anyone expects. When Elijah has one of his moments and Tyler is there for him; you can just feel the emotions rolling off the page.

I am starting to worry a little about Will's use of illegal substances. I know that he doesn't appear to have an addictive personality and doesn't seem to crave the high/feelings from any of the drugs; but the fact that he can't seem to be around them without partaking is troublesome. Plus, I worry that he will get so out of it while using something that he simply does something that he will ultimately regrets. Will handled the frat party with little issues, except for making Zach pissed off and is that really a bad thing? He got to show Dan that size is nice but not the only thing that makes for a good time. How serious is Darius about this girl; he sort of blew off Will for her; can you be serious about anyone named Saturn? There is always a price to pay for mixing that many substances. Let's hope Will never finds out how high it can be. Well done as always, Mark, Bravo...

Chapter 31: Getting Gelato
centexhairysub commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 31: Getting Gelato
Wow, just so loved this chapter. I found Vincent talking about his training with the other shadow mages very telling. He is working on making himself stronger and not afraid to get help from anyone he can. I love how Vincent and Mason handled arriving at the South Dakota pack and dealing with traveling to the lodge from the gate. Ralph seems like a real hoot. The new Alpha seems to be working as diligently as he can. Really impressed with how Vincent handled both talking to Kaplan and his parents. I hope they can start to repair their relationship soon. Cyrus did the right thing; even if there are some in the pack that do not realize it yet.- 27 comments

I just can't tell you how well done this one was. I am so glad that Tyler was able to help and seems to be fitting in much better than he thought he would; having him around makes it easier on Elijah. Logan and Tyler were hot, and so glad they are going to be able to let off some steam with each other until everyone starts heading out on their missions. Sebastian talking about having to maybe put some of the pups down if they have gone feral really brought it home that they will probably lose some of the pups. Made me want to do something horrible to each and every person involved in this whole fiasco; death is simply too easy for anyone that did this, helped in this, or profited from this.

I know that a Ha Ha was probably not the right selection as most of the chapter was serious to scary; but the last scene was just to funny. I swear I saw sparkly rainbows dancing before my eyes as I read the last couple of lines. I am glad that Darius and Parker have each other; and now everyone close to them will know how important they are to each other. That said, I do hope they take their relationship slow and steady. Make sure they know each other and what they really want as they move forward, together as a couple but hopefully friends as well. I do think the Chief may be in more trouble then he realizes; and I would love for this to come back on Nettleman, but I would not even fully bet on Dan getting a long term suspension. Someone, Nettleman, is going to try to make this Parker's fault. Let's hope he can't do so. Am just so enjoying this story; can't wait for the next update.

Another wonderful addition to the Pern stories here on this site; I truly find them all amazing and a great tribute to the original series. This story was especially well done. The writing and pacing were just first rate all the way through this wonderful story. We went from a hold where the protagonist father did not believe the fall was coming to Pern again; to his son, albeit without his father's support impressing a dragon. There was many adventures and twist and turns in the story; but it came to a more than satisfactory conclusion. There are a few details that I hope we get to find out in additional stories about some of the issues at the hold before the boys flee. I believe there was at least one murder that no one really thought was a murder; and would like to see that fully resolved. While I do think a reader could read this book without going back and reading all the others; I would suggest at least reading " Gone Away, Gone Ahead ", this is the fourth book in the ninth pass of Pern. It would be very beneficial to anyone wanting to just drop in on this story to at least have read that one book previously. Bravo.

What a truly joyous chapter; but truly sad to see this story end. I can't wait for the next one to start but rest and gather yourself for the next great addition to this wonderful saga. I am glad that the ones that impressed did so; and even glad to see that Hortaimin did not but got to stay and try again. Away from his father and not getting selected the first time may actually make him a better person. There was such an excellent flow to all of the chapters in this story; and the writing was simply first rate. Can't wait for the next great adventure.

What a truly wonderful update; and can't wait for Monday. I am so glad that Will called and talked to Susannah and JJ; and he was right, always call a lady first; of course, is she a lady? I can't wait for Will and Darius to get to New York; I just hope that JJ doesn't get to hurt by anything. I am so proud of Will and how he handled the issue with Jeff. I am proud of Jeff that he finally realized after talking to Will that he truly isn't a Wolf but a Wolf-lite. I can't believe that Zach just took a phone from someone and is now shocked that the person that gave him the phone can track him... Even in the early 2000's this was fairly easy to do. Oh lord... The end of the chapter with Jeff was really nice as well. Will doesn't need to sleep with every person that he can; he and Jeff could just turn out to be great friends. Excellent as always Mark, just so well done.

Okay, the story, great chapter and we get a little peak into the dynamic of the coming stories. Loved the dinner; and Lila was just too adorable. Rosalie and Silas are just perfect. I have missed them. And what a perfect explanation. Tyler is handling this all so much better than I expected. And I guess teaming up with Elijah hunting down the missing would only be about 16 on a scale of 1 to 10 in the danger range. What a wonderful group to belong to and can't wait to see how Sebastian leads them forward. I do wonder if Cassiel might know something to help the geneticist, but we will just have to see. I so want Huntington to truly suffer...

Chapter 30: Tricky Tussle
centexhairysub commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 30: Tricky Tussle
Cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this chapter. The spar between Yakob and Cyrus was just fantastic and ended much differently then I would have thought it would have. Elaine is teaching Vincent so much; and she is right, the bracelet has begun to be a crutch. The scene between Ingle and Dirk was just too hot to handle. It isn't jus the sex; it is the true passion they have for each other. -
Truly loved this chapter. I am so glad that guys got to Montana without anything happening. I was worried that there might be an attempt to stop them. I am glad that Tyler went with Elijah. Glad all of the initial meetings went well; and loved that Tyler did so well when he actually got to watch some of them change into their wolves. And getting to see some prime flesh naked could not have hurt matters either. Had we established that Tyler was gay or bi? I don't really remember that ever being discussed, will have to go back and read a few chapters to see. So happy that they were able to get into the computer. Now it will simply be a matter of finding the information and seeing where it leads. Truly a great chapter.

I swear Will could be a master chef. He knows just when to let something marinate for a while, and just when to turn the heat up. I love how he handled Cam. It amazes me that there are people in the entertainment world that understands the power of this family but somehow believe they are immune to the pressure that they could bring to bear. Cam thinks that because Will is so much younger that he doesn't understand how to play the game; but he has studied under masters of it his whole life. The fact that Taylor is friends with Will makes me just intensely dislike Zach all the more. If you are going to do something like this; then pick someone that Will and the rest of them don't know. I can't and won't blame Will for Zach cheating; as it is Zach's decision to use Taylor as a beard. But if it ever all blows up; the fact that Taylor really likes Will and obviously trust him, will make it just that much worse on everyone. I really do hate that Jeff got hurt; but still do not understand really why he took Cam's word over Will's to start with; I do understand that when you are in "love" you give that person the benefit of the doubt but really, this was Will we are talking about. I do think Will should have channeled JJ a little more and made Cody grovel some. I am not sure that Cody really did what he did with bad intent, but he did it without thinking about all of the consequences. Hmmm, I do wonder who the fashion show is for in Los Angeles; could we be about to get another blast from the past? I can't wait to see what trouble Will and Stef can stir up while they are in town together. A true banquet of delight; all delicious courses and so much more to come. Bravo, Mark, Bravo.

Lovely chapter; and you can feel the tension building. I am just so impressed with how D'gar is handling all of this; and how resolute Jevikel is, not only to not stand with Kadin but in truly not caring what color his dragon is going to be. I think it is great that he is going to honor T'rai by using some of his name to contract his own if chosen. I understand how important it was to Kadin that they stand together; but honestly, a little disappointed in him for not pushing Jevikel to stand without him. I don't think Jevikel ever would have but still. Hortaimin is standing; and I guess it is terrible but I hope he does get a green. We now know that part of his issues are how his father treated him, but finding out he risked the lives of others to try and make his father give him so notice or appreciation; doesn't exactly fill you with confidence about what he would be like as a dragon rider. Can't wait for the next update...

So Kage's employer was named after one of the seven Archangels, Cassiel, I believe the Angel of Saturn. Keeper of overlooked people or those in weakened states. Maybe that does fit him to some extent. You could clearly tell that he truly did care about Kage on a deeply personal level. Surprised that Huntington has some protection from one of Cassiel's bothers; have to wonder why??? I have a feeling that Trevor is going to truly regret crossing Cassiel and killing Kage; what happens to him might, just might, be horrible enough for what he has done. I am so glad that he told Elijah that while he and Kage had loved one another, they were not truly each others true mate. Maybe in time this will help Elijah stay open to finding the one he is destined to be with. Can't wait for Elijah and Tyler to get to Montana, hope nothing delays them. Have to wonder if they won't both find more there then they are expecting. We will see. Glorious chapter, and so glad the boys are on the way to Montana.

Another wonderful chapter; flowed so well and truly well written. I do love Myles, he is a real delight and love how open he is with those around him. Of course, they have known him for years, but still so freeing when you can be your authentic self. Darius's mother was really nice as well. Her reaction to not just Parker but Myles showed what a truly good woman she is. And what a delightful sense of humor she had. Parker and Darius finally got some along time and they did not waste it. They seemingly connect on so many levels including the physical. Do hope that whatever the Reverend needs is not something problematic. Well done.

Event of the Millennium
centexhairysub commented on Grumpy Bear's story chapter in Event of the Millennium
What a gathering. I am so glad that Matthias decided to come for something this truly monumental. Love how the first meeting between Matthias and Taylor went, just too funny. Bernie is feeling a little insecure. That is to be completely expected in this situation. I cannot believe that there are that many leaks in the headquarters of this organization. Curtis sounds like a greedy idiot. I hope if he lives through this that someone finds out what he has done and punishes him for it brutally. I want to know who these so called Benefactors are; nothing about their actions seem to be benefitting anyone or designed to keep the peace. -
Chapter 29: Mountain March
centexhairysub commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 29: Mountain March
What a real delight. Vincent is going to need to start upping his game; and having a few other shadow mages besides Yakob train him could not hurt at all. I am so happy for Tasha and Caleb, and Lowe is going to be a wonderful big brother. I swear even when he is not mentioned; you can just feel the oppressiveness of Stefano in each chapter. I am glad that Cyrus and Kaplan went to check up on Yakob and the monastery. I am equally sure that some of those mages would be excellent helping the EC with different projects. Can't wait for the next update, great job here.- 30 comments

Wonderful chapter, and another adherent and follower of Granger has been initiated. LOL. I do think that Anson is a delight, so young and for all of his position, rather innocent and shy. I have to admit that with his families connection; it could be anyone that he introduces Granger to; we need at least another hint. Pitcairn's funeral was as somber and boring as he was. But as Granger stated, his death saved him from further delay and will allow him to get his ship on the way home. Anson will find Daventry helpful about the delights of Oxford and Cambridge but not nearly as much fun as Granger; or perhaps even as much fun as Cavendish when he returns with Granger to England. Every chapter in this saga is a pure delight; we are blessed with getting each and every one.

Great chapter, but this one made me a little sad. I hated that Jeff actually did not give Will a chance to explain before talking to Cam, and what the hell, why believe Cam more than Will. I know when you are into someone, you tend to want to believe them but still. The fact that it was Jeff knocking softly and late, probably means he either had time to think and realized that Will was who he should have trusted or he found out from someone else that Will should have been trusted. Will is going to need to have another conversation with him. Will needs to find someway to make Cam suffer without screwing Cody over, although still annoyed with his as well. Knew it was probably Darius that Will wanted to talk to, and glad to see they did it face to face. I have always like Darius and think that he is someone that Will can always talk to and ask for help from; not sure he fully embraces how much people need him, but he is truly a good guy. I just do NOT like Zach. I know and even understand why he has to stay hidden; but just don't ever see a time where he will make Will a priority in his life. Will needs to wean himself away from his feelings for Zach and figure out how to move on, of course, easier said than done. I do think they connect on the physical level oh so well; but in the end will that ever be enough? Glad that they are going to plan on talking, really talking, once a week; but how long before Zach blows that off for something else he considers more important. Truly excellent chapter, flowed so well and just beautifully written. Bravo, Mark, Bravo...

Wonderful chapter; and it was truly important for Tyler to get the graduation and party with his family before saying goodbye. Papi, Elena, and perhaps Carina know there is much more to the trip than they are letting on. Mama and Papi love them both and deserved to have some time with Tyler before he and Elijah left. I don't think Tyler has really thought about it; but if something goes horrible wrong, it could be the last time that either he or Elijah might ever see his family again. Families like Tyler's are a true blessing; yes, you might want to kill them at times but the love and affection are real and they would do anything for each other. Here is hoping that tomorrow goes smoothly, not sure that I can wait for Wednesday.

The Consequences of Violence
centexhairysub commented on Mawgrim's story chapter in The Consequences of Violence
D'gar knew indeed just how to handle the miscreants all the way around. I do think that perhaps he should not have given in and let Hortaimin stay; but perhaps a dose of reality will help him change. Plus, Jevikel is right, we don't know how bad it might have been if he was sent home. Jevikel knew to follow orders; he is more than steady, he understands how important it is to do the right thing in the right manner. This is the sign of a good leader. I think he and the ones that finally showed up for their punishment will find they got off easy compared to the other two. D'gar is a good weyrlingmaster; and will only get better. -
Not sure why; but someone this did not show up in my notifications last week and I did not realize it until the notification for this week's chapter hit. I liked this chapter a lot. I am glad that Jevikel stood up for his friend; even if he might be in some trouble now. Turmevon does not seem like someone that will just stand up for himself; but he stood up once Jevikel moved into help him. I do think he should have told D'gar when he had the chance; I know he sort of feels that they, the searched, should solve some of their own issues; but sometimes small issues not dealt with turn out to be bigger ones. After what happened in Southern, we know that sometimes a dragon will choose a rider that really is not fit to be one. Not allowing them on the sands when you know what kind of person they are is one way to head that off. I am glad that Kadin was about the join in with the musicians. It is something that he really cares about and enjoys and will be a way to relieve some stress. It also allows him to make friends that he might not otherwise associate with. Excellent flow and writing with this chapter; can't wait to see what happens next.

Finally, I am so glad that they found the laptop. Elijah needs to realize that even if they had the laptop, Kage's boss might still have ordered the hit on Huntington and Kage would still be dead. I am glad that Elijah is going to try and meet up with the boss. He needs to know that Trevor has betrayed him and that Kage is dead. Would not surprise me to know that Kage had made changes and that Elijah might be his beneficiary to any wealth that could be transferred. I sort of hope that Trevor is there and that the boss kills him; I suspect the boss is more dangerous that we understand. I am glad that Tyler is going to go with Elijah both to monitor the meeting with the boss and to Montana. I think he may need him in more than one way. Excellent chapter, can't wait for the next update.

What an ass; Kintu should be a donkey rather than a lion. There is always one group that seems to be more close minded and prejudiced. The horror of having any of the other were cats sitting at the same table filled them with horror and shame. Once again, what a bunch of asses for the most part. Loved the scene to start with; the idea of a best friend in that manner is so powerful. Bernie and Bill will always have each other's back. This can be very powerful and could be very important at some point in this story. Can't wait to see where you take this one.
