So glad that Siku got such a warm welcome, he needed it. Glad that he told Gunnar what he had thought about. And glad that Gunnar agreed that was not something to even consider. Hope that Siku gets to spend a little time with this group; but not to much as we know his mate is not among them. This appears to be the start of a grand adventure. I do hope that both Gunnar and Axel stay on top of this issue with the new bears; this type of prejudice has to be stopped cold. The bear couples in the north need to be alerted to the issue as well.

So glad that Siku has decided to go off in search of his mate; that being said, the new bears should be given time to adjust, but if they cannot, then they should be removed from the group. They should not be allowed to change the dynamic of the group in a negative manner.

OMG, I am just rolling on the floor laughing way to hard after this chapter... Loved how Will handled the situation with both his father and Johnny; especially since he was under the weather, shall we say, while dealing with both of them. But I do think that Will is right, what is going on with Brad??? Will can see the attraction to Johnny, but I think he understands and appreciates the fact that Johnny probably does truly favor women sexually. This doesn't mean no men, but it means that most of the time when it is fully his choice, a woman will be his pick. JP is right that Will needs to figure out how he feels about Patrick. Will cares for him or he would not be going out of his way to try and help with the situation with Johnny, plus he does like Johnny as a friends as well. I can't see Will and Patrick ever being anything serious. But it is possible to really care for someone that you are only involved in a casual sexual relationship with; there can be other things besides sex that bind you together. JP and Will have so many traits in common. The thought of them going through the MOMA together got me giggling. The sight of this older short slight man being escorted around by this tall hunky young man just struck me as really funny; although probably not an unusual sight there. LOL. Chris Mendoza is just so freaking hot... I really can't see him giving in to Will. The thought of him taking Will to a leather bar was just too funny, especially because of the shirt that he is wearing under his black long sleeve shirt. What a great chapter, so well written and just filled with little gems. The chapter also flowed; and glad to see a couple of older characters making a comeback... Bravo...

What a wonderful additional epilogue to this story. I find myself truly liking Lady Laner. I hope that her relationship with Jihan and Andiya continue to grow and prosper. Duyi is a fool; but he may still cause issues; and Jihan is right to worry about his actions. I do hope that he is able to get the right person in place before his father can make a hash out of anything he does at Gamo. It seems that all of the young Princes are better off at Silver Shore. They can bond and hopefully; the Empire and family will both be stronger for it. Each update to this story is truly a delight. In some ways; I do hope they never truly end...

OMG, I so loved this chapter. Am traveling so can't get online as often as I want. This was truly excellent. The writing and flow was just spot on. I do think that Lewis has a unique perspective. He does understand what James's family is capable of; but also understands that others would do the same if they had the ability. I doubt that James ever thought about the fact that his family would go beyond the limits that most posses to stand by him, help him, or revenge anything that happened to him. While James may understand how powerful his family is; I am not sure that he has ever really considered all the consequences of that. I fully agree with James; Charlie will only come back if Charlie decides to do so. I just hope no one is seriously hurt in any attempt to force him back. Maybe the items James is sending with Lewis will help give him a touchstone...

We knew it was coming; but that did not make it any easier. The fortune teller knew; but just could not say. Just so sad... You understand D'gar thinking of staying between; but Herebeth held him steady and he finally responded. The loss is something you never really recover from fully.

Well, Mitch got a lot accomplished in a few short days; of course one can do a lot when your mind is clear and made up. I am glad that Mitch has decided to talk to Will and get everything out in the open. Mitch has already started the will process; but you never know, what might happen. That said, Boone and Coy will accept the land and help Mitch do what he wants to while he is there and honor his final wishes in the end. Boone and Coy were smart to check; a small fire can turn into a nightmare faster than turning around. A wildfire or a cooking fire that got out of control could be a disaster back then.

Really enjoyed this new book in the saga of the Werebears in America, writing and flow were good throughout the book. The enemy was very interesting in this one; and pulled on old legends with a new twist. We got to meet some old friends and find some new ones. A few surprises from the old friends, but then isn't that usually a good thing? I love how the author is able to blend in characters that we have glimpsed or met before but then give them new and interesting twist. Character development throughout this saga has been first rate. I really like how Rodney and Marcus developed and how they impacted the ending in this story.

What a delightful way to end this book in the saga. Can't wait to see what happens next. I am glad that Karhu and Bernie get to consummate their feeling for each other. Glad that Rodney got the wights; he won't do anything evil with them, except maybe some more tickly torture of Bill. Can't wait for the next book in the saga.

Truly wonderful chapter and story. The writing and flow of both this chapter and the story in general was excellent. Great character driven drama and adventure awaits those that enter this wonderful work you have created. Apollo and Susie made the right choice about the children. And truly loved the little interaction between Susie and Axel, with the delightful response by Adam. Can't wait to see how this is all tied up. OMG, I hope that neither D'gar or M'rell are responsible for anything that happens to any of the riders. Being the youngest of the wingseconds will just make anything that can be blamed on them seem so much worse. Well, I think I would prefer a birthday like D'gar versus S'brin; but to each their own. Really well written chapter, and the flow was excellent.

Truly wonderful chapter, the writing and flow were both just first rate. So happy that Karhu and Bernie seemed destined to be together; but I see many adventures for both of them. Bill is truly the perfect mentor and trainer for Bernie, I see many adventures for them as well. So glad that Rodney and Marcus have decided to truly become mates, they truly seemed destined for this as well. I think Susie would make a wonderful parent; but with the times she has to give to her pack, the council, and her mate; might not leave a lot of time for full time parenting. Cannot wait to see what comes next...

I do think that Mitch will be back in a day or two; maybe a side trip to see the doctor; where no one was looking over his shoulder? Only Mitch and Will can decide when and where they are going to to cover what needs to be said and decide if what they fill is enough to try and make something work. Coy and Boone are good friends to both; and I do think even Coy has realized that Mitch and Will have to make their own way. Love the little things about this chapter. Turning the hay, weeding the garden, working with the younger animals; it is the small things that keep you going and moving and working toward something. Just so well written...

Great chapter, the battle was good; but did we have to bring Thor into it... I hope that Siku is able to fully heal I do hope that Karhu and Bernie are destined to stay together. Marcus and Rodney have realized they belong together, or at least one does. Wonderful chapter...

Wonderful chapter, flowed wonderfully and so descriptive. I do agree that everyone needed a tension break and to relax before the great battle. That said, they still don't realize that things have gotten more complicated at the village. The bear God that is inhabiting Rodney's body must be blocking the tracker, probably unintentionally since he probably doesn't even know it is there. I think we all know who will summon Odin or the one that will fight the serpent. A trip to Japan might be just the thing for more than just Siku.

Think it is hilarious that no one except Jonathan, that we are aware of; has actually done the math. If you are going to lie about something; then make sure that the basic math at least fits the timeline. Jonathan already had the idea, and was right that Connor is a no go. That much pretentiousness would wear on anyone even semi-aware. Great chapter, flowed beautifully and so well written.

Love the memory of the Christmas with Joe, Bill, and Gary. I also felt the time that Karhu got to spend with Bernie is very special, and so well written. Karhu would be truly blessed to have had Odin come to him and tell him how to save Bernie, even it if it just having Bernie say a special word and perhaps summon Odin himself, or a trusted ally. I am not sure that Rodney is acting. I am afraid that he truly is possessed by the spirit of the bear-god, but hope that @astone2292is right. I hope he can be saved and brought back to himself, as I don't know that Marcus could truly survive without him. Just a wonderful chapter...

Well, fighting thread in the true thunderstorm is not something that you could simulate; so not sure we should be so hard on the weyrling. Practicing and training while very important cannot actually simulate what it is like in the field. D'gar is more ready then he thinks. I can not imagine how hard this is going to be on everyone as they lose more and more going forward.

For him to be able to control the wights; I do think that Rodney is now one with the bear god. This is not good but perhaps he can be brought back. Loved that Rieka got taken down, just not far enough yet. Loved the interaction with Axel and Apollo and Susie. Can't wait to see what happens next.

OMFG, I can't believe a chapter that started with so much promise ended like this. I do think that Stefan knew this would enrage Vincent. And I do think his ally might be tied to Stuerm; but still don't understand who it is specifically. I do hope that Shaw's last message is noticed and understood by someone. HIs sacrifice should not be in vain.

This chapter just pissed me off. Not that it was not a good plot twist; but there is always someone around trying to twist the truth, felt like a political ad...

I want Mitch to get to the doctor, from the symptoms it could be something fatal, and at the time and place likely is; but it could also be a few things that would not be fatal, but perhaps just debilitating or curable. Either way, a better doctor might be able to give a more definitive answer. So Mitch also looked for Will, not surprising, but nice to have it confirmed. I actually understand Mitch more than some of the others; I think his big issue is that he already put Will through worrying about his dying and sitting there watching it and doesn't want to do it again, since he believes he is now. Wonderful chapter, flowed a lovely at that mountain stream...

Great update, wish Marcus could have asked Karhu how to combat the Tuath De, but that might have been too much. Rieka is going to move everything forward that she can, hope the others start toward the village quickly.

So disappointed that the initial rush to judgement about Rodney and Marcus's actions. Great idea having them ask to go and putting the tracker on them. Battle scene was so well done; and full of unexpected issues, who would have thought about preparing for locust... Apollo and his people can't be asking multiple times for these people to surrender, he could have eliminated one of the enemy but doesn't seem to realize these are extremists and you can't just ask them to surrender. Why would the fire place have not been secured; you know these creature travel through mist and that would easily travel down the chimney.
