    Chapter 26

Well, damn, a key to what? Is it something that Daventry already has; or is there something else in Cochrane's personal effects that the key will open? How the hell can Granger get the key to him; without risking the lives of all his men? Will Granger separate from the ship to accomplish this mission? OMG, this is madness. Loved the tryst with Weston, unexpected but rather sweet. Cochrane's actions are why in the early days so much of Britain's diplomacy was handled by the gentry or nobility; so many of them were raised with such honor that they went to their deaths to complete their missions. Can't wait to see what Granger will have to pull out of his ass now...

    Goodbye

I have to wonder if Ethan will be able to pull this off or not; a week is a long time to wait to find out... Excellent chapter; I think Levi has already over-played his hand, but we will see what happens on the final shakeout.

    Chapter 13

Color me very confused; how could someone make such a huge mistake about the Crown Prince having died?

    Chapter 25

It would be dangerous and foolhardy for Granger to even consider appearing before the Czar. Not only would it make it almost impossible for his ship to escape the area because of the build up of ice; but it also puts him and Daventry both in jeopardy, with Granger free, he could at least attempt something if Daventry was truly in danger. George has the ability to pull people to him; not just sexually; but in a way that true emotional resonance is developed and any parting seems to hard for him, but more so for the other individual. So truly rare... Wonderful chapter, flowed beautifully and the prose was excellent as well. Can't wait to see what happens next.

    Chapter 12

Well, glad it was not Eran that Adan had to kill. I do hope they find him alive, but would be surprised about that. They fact that Lord Arien did not seem more worried about the letter bothers me some. I am with Roku, I do not fully trust Lady Corin, although I have no concrete reason why I don't.
  6. Another good addition, flowed well but short. Not sure that I fully understand the logic of having Ronnie lie to his father. I mean if his dad was going to run off blabbing to everyone maybe; but as an ex cop, he would understand the need for discretion. The visit was sort of sweet; and glad they got the boyfriend thing settled, or at least acknowledged. Wonder if the thunder means that Taran's mom is giving his dad hell....

    Chapter 22

Excellent chapter, well written and very exciting. The fact that the so called Mr. Parker knows so much about the situation leads me to believe that they aliens were probably on Earth and destabilizing it for longer than anyone realized. Even though the members of Bravo team are in essence children, they are still members of the resistance and had to know that their deaths were something that could happen when they went out. While I think that Alex handled the communication as well as could be expected, he has to be able to act in the next few days without letting his emotions over-ride what needs to be done. Can't wait to see what happens next.

    Resolve

Why do I feel that Ethan and Aiden will be making an appearance in the next chapter??? WOW, this chapter just had so many twist and turns; can't wait to see what you do in the next one.

    Chapter 11

Lovely first chapter to book 2, picked up perfectly and flowed really well. I can't wait for them to get to Silver Shore Valley. While I am sure that Jihan will work diligently to make sure that he and Kas are wealthy and powerful; I am sure it will never be fully enough for the Emperor. I can tell you that Jihan should start spice production immediately, always a profitable business; but I would not touch any of the spices sent by the Empress. Wouldn't trust them at all. Can't wait to see what happens next.

    Chapter 11

An interesting turn of events; a full fledge fleeing to what was believed safe, now they know it isn't. Is someone trying to make him run again? So many twist and turns; can't wait to see what happens next.
  11. I have to wonder if Taran isn't going to regret going to help Avani; especially if something happens to her. Well, what can you say about fathers and sons, sounds like the older brother was the golden boy; hints of what happened to him but no full out explanation yet, while Taran never quite measured up in his father's eyes. I think that Maya helps to keep Taran grounded in a way that maybe neither realizes. Taran training Ronnie may end up causing issues that haven't surfaced yet; but have to wonder if Ronnie's ability with help from Maya won't be what proves the winning edge for the good guys in the end.

    Chapter 24

A wonderful chapter full of vim and vigor, I agree with Clausewitz, one would think at this point; Granger's reputation would be well established with those at a certain level of both society and the military regardless of region. At the time, the world that really counted was rather small. Granger has established himself as someone that doesn't bluff, and has the ability to not only think on his feet; but to put his remarkable insights into action. Have to believe that Granger's actions will cause some consternation in the Foreign Secretariat in London, but he will be able to explain his reasoning for the actions in a way that make them the right things to do at the moment. While Granger misses Daventry, I would doubt that with the situation developing in Russia, that we will see him again in this book; unless it is very lengthy and goes into or past March of 1801. Czar Paul I was assassinated in March of 1801. Can't wait to see what happens next with this story; truly wonderful.
  13. Good chapter, flowed well and the writing was good. Like to see that Ronnie didn't just get powers and then all the sudden knew how to function fully with them. Having to learn how to use them effectively and knowing that he will have to exercise them to get stronger is interesting, so against the traditional, power on and go format. Ronnie and Taran need to take it slow and easy, they need to get to know each other; it is obvious that both have issues to work through.

    Full Circle

It wasn't just his mother; it was his stepfather, who he made a point earlier talking about how much he admired and how his interest was always for the welfare of the pack, other members of the leadership council, and many others both mentioned and implied. In addition, is Dorian really in charge? It seems that all the other leadership and important positions are held by either Levi or members of his family. Dorian has already stated that he did not have the knowledge or ability to handle many of these positions. If Dorian actually pulls his head out of his ass and figures out what Levi and his family has done; can he actually run the pack as it is now? Because of his actions over the several years, is there actually anyone that he can trust to help him; he has killed or alienated so many others with his actions. While he maybe the Alpha, I truly don't think he runs the pack at all, he is a violent figurehead. Honestly, the way this has been laid out; Dorian is sort of the sociopath that kills and mains and screams he is in charge; while Levi really runs everything and enjoys all the perks. One question, what is the time frame on this? I mean how long since Dorian became the Alpha until this chapter? When the story started, I thought we were going back and long way, but something about this made me think that in reality, Dorian has been Alpha for only six to ten years maybe?

    Full Circle

Considering the amount of time that Levi has had to poison Dorian and place his family and people in the positions that they hold; I wonder how easy it will be for Dorian to exert full control over the pack, even if he can ever get his head out of his ass and realize it is Levi... Honestly, can't believe anyone that could be this easily fooled by someone like Levi, his own mother tried to tell him, could have managed to build and grow and hold a pack the size of his together...

    Chapter 10

Lord, why do men never understand the feelings of those that love them...

    Chapter 23

And it took only a moment and I am hooked again, the writing and pacing of this chapter was par excellence. I truly believe that Granger is the type of man that cares about others and understands others on a level that few in his time would have ever chosen to do. He understands how to get to the heart of the matter and with a level of clarity that is just remarkable. Plus, he could find a man worthy of enjoyment in the middle of a nunnery; and that is truly a rare gift. Comstock is a fool, and I have no doubt that Granger will make him pay for his stupidity; plus his actions could have easily crippled the other captains if Granger wasn't the sort to take the time to find out what was really going on with them. Bravo Mark, Bravo...

    Respect

Honestly, the story is going to lose me if Dorian continues to be this stupid. Not even silver poisoning can explain this level of stupidity.

    Chapter 21

Excellent chapter, flowed wonderfully and writing was first rate. Did have a Red Dawn flashback, the first one not the horrible remake. Alex really shouldn't be out in the field as much as he is. Bold to steal the ship and smart not to take it back to their base until they know if it can be traced. Just standing up to the invaders is a real start. Can't wait to see what you come up with next.

    Chapter 9

Hated that we lost Eran like that, worse that Adan was the one who was forced to kill him. Still not sure that I fully trust Lady Corin, but we will see.

    Triumph

Sorry, but I think Dorian got played. Levi orchestrated all of that. I am convinced that the cookies are how he is being poisoned now. While I think that the two younger wolves were disrespectful to their Alpha's memory, Dorian was equally wrong in how he handled it. This is how he behaved when we first met him. So disappointed...
  22. WOW,, the latest chapter of Black Widow is up and it is just grand. Hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did.

    Chapter 75

Well, god knows that I hate to agree with Elizabeth Danfield about anything; but I do in this. Sabrina Granger is as trustworthy as the scorpion riding across the river on the alligator, and we all know how that worked out. I am honestly not sure who is more dangerous, Sabrina Granger or Elizabeth Danfield. I certainly would not want to be in Sabrina's brother's shoes. Don't doubt for a moment that she was capable of taking out her parents and would her brother for the flimsiest of reasons. I am glad that JJ and Brad ended up having the conversation. I know that JJ hurt Brad with a few of his comments but truly don't think he meant to at all. JJ is just very blunt. I could see therapy doing a lot of good for JJ; helping him to realize how his interactions with others effects him as well as them. JJ does care deeply for his family, but like many type A personalities, he doesn't always do a good job of showing it. I do hope that Brad and Jake are able to stay together. I think that Jake is the kind of person that needs his own space and career but could be really good for Brad. JJ was right about Brad just getting really intense really quickly when he gets involved with someone that he develops feelings for, he does better with casual flings sometimes. A good epilogue would be great. I do feel that we should hear from a few others in regards to this situation. Mark, as always, this story was wonderful. I can feel the emotions that are behind each of the characters and know the passion that you have put into not just this story but all of them in this saga. I recommend this saga as well as the Bridgemont one often. Bless you, for your gift to us all.
  24. A delightful surprise, chapter 22 is up and posted. It picked up from the last chapter beautifully and just flowed...

    Chapter 22

So excited to see a new chapter, hope this isn't tasking you too much, but so appreciated. Granger so understands what is going on and the nuances of how to play the game, not only on his home soil but in foreign soil just as much. Daventry is off on the rest of his mission; can only hope that he succeeds, and history tells us he does; but at what cost. I am sure that if anything happens that Granger will make sure that his wife and child are more than well taken care of in the future. Have to wonder no longer than Granger is planning to be in town, how involved with Von Beckendorff he will become; but a steamy night in the frigid north would not be amiss. Story picked up and flowed beautifully.
