Kirk Cameron is probably older than you think. He will be 42 in October!
Per Wiki:
Kirk Thomas Cameron (born October 12, 1970) is an American actor best known for his role as Mike Seaver on the television situation comedy Growing Pains (1985–1992), as well as several other television and film appearances as a child actor. In the 1980s and 1990s, Cameron appeared in dozens of television shows and in the films Like Father Like Son and Listen to Me.
I'd be interested in hearing your suggestions for KC names.....
He says he has gay friends. However, I bet they are not a huge number and that he has caused them more than his share of anguish. As a veteran I firmly believe in the freedom of religion. The conservative christians can spread their moralistic condemnation of gays to their believers. When it comes to civil rights and trying to make their viewpoints stick in law, then I think we have the basic reason for separation of church and state (despite what Rick Santorum and others may state).
In the prior chapter, the evil witch Bridget escaped capture and in this chapter the assasin Basingstoke escapes for the moment as well.
How disappointing!
Here's hoping that when these two (and Sanchez as well) finally do meet their maker, it is after the most grueling and horrifying deaths that the devious CJ can imagine. (Wouldn't that be something!)
Kirk Cameron <-- Now that is just WRONG!!!
I wouldn't mind having a few of those, but I think Koolaide Caper is my favorite!
I was hoping you'd get a chuckle!
I to have often wondered what KC stood for and have a few guesses:

The implication is that it's the opposite of a shorthorn.
Actually it's the name of the college football team at the University of Texas.
Are you ready for some football? (American style?)

How you got tagged with arrogant prick makes me wonder. Someone must have a little green monster on their shoulder.
However, here's hoping you have an absolutely fabulous birthday!
This "homecoming" just gets worse for George. It's apparent his luck has shifted and if he didn't have bad luck he wouldn't have any at all.
Being bound and molested repeatedly by his scheming bitch of a sister-in-law (in what I suppose was her fertile time of the month) was demented. Freddy if complicit, does indeed deserve the worst.
The word of the muscle hunk that he would alert George's ship and have some marines dispatched was intriguing but will it be in time to catch Freddy and Davina? Somehow, I think not yet.
I am wondering if we are getting clues as to the direction of the next novel in the series?
An unexpected turn of events which left me perplexed. It certainly looks like Davina was trying to get pregnant with George's child. I don't recall whether his elder brother had any children but I expect not. But still, it is a harebrained scheme at best and sheer folly at worst and I expect the worst...
I'm surprised you did not mention D'Andre with his long tresses and his pout when he was sent back to the couch. In the singing for his life round, he did a good job singing "Georgia" and got a judge's save.
I thought it was interesting but the wife and son both seemed a little shallow. The emotions they did display looked staged. The role played by BD Wong was irksome while the other shrink was too cutesy. The best parts involved police work and how one reality seemed to impinge on the other in the way of insights and clues. The preview for next week seems to indicate even more of that with the son being taken hostage so I will definately watch.
You included illness/genetic defects, but didn't specify STD/HIV status which is always an important question when thinking of becoming romantically involved....
Remember too that George is still really young, dashing, sexy and well-connected. I think even in the 20th and 21st centuries it is pretty easy for good looking, sexy, succesful young people to fall in love--repeatedly.
Well now that you've earned the award 2 years in a row, next year you won't be eligible, so perhaps your pathetic whining about it can take a time out? PLEASE?
Trevor's hyper-alertness surely saved him in this chapter.
Bridget is now an underling and hopefully that fact will continue to grate on her psyche and cause her to make a fatal mistake with Sanchez....One can only hope!
Arbour is always full of surprises. I had no clue about Chartley's revelation until George put it together. Good job.

Reading this the second time, my thoughts were quite different. I had remembered that Chartley made the trip from India through Egypt to reach England on Bertie's behalf and so it seemed normal when Peter made his revelation even though I had forgot this particular event. I did remember them stopping by the abbey and I shall say nothing now about it. Unfortunately, Davina and Freddie are in Portsmouth and that encounter is not one I'm looking forward to.
Sending Caroline to the country estate was definitely the best idea. Dealing with his crew who have been so loyal will be top priority and I am intrigued as to where George plans to "stash" those that want that option. Chartley has been a friend and a comfort.
I seem to remember that there was supposed to be a party of some sort at the weekend which was mentioned in the prior chapter, and I wonder how that will be played out?
