At last some info about Gonzo and his dad's P.I. in Florida. Still not much on the dirty cop and his dirty cohort . Nothing from Lisa or Joel. But slowly, there does seem to be a gathering climactic scene approaching....

...You Can’t Get it All Right All the Time
Daddydavek commented on Jwolf's story chapter in ...You Can’t Get it All Right All the Time
Most involved parents can read their kids like a book and often know what they will do, before the kids do. I too would have caved on the party. However, while Coop didn't anticipate his bratty daughter going home to an empty house after the party, I did, but then I have prior experience with a teenage daughter. For punishment, I would make the daughter call mama in the morning and try to 'splain! -
Chapter 39 is up and Tony kissed Will on the boat after visiting Alcatraz. Will was impressed, Tony about apologized for leading him on....and then Will was disappointed that Tony didn't take any more steps or kisses! Tony did talk about his past straight failures with girls. Tony is a bit of an enigma yet and I am not sure Mark has decided which way(s) that apple will fall. The past includes his one-time encounter with Gathan. So anything is possible. The heterosexual encounters between Gathan and Kristin appear to have been daily or more and the encounter on the hood of a car was described. The chapter indicated that Gathan's budget included visiting Kristin in Ohio every other weekend which appears somewhat unrealistic. Once school starts, there will be homework, papers, projects, activities, sports, etc and a long-distance relationship is going to be tough.

After the kiss, I thought Tony was going to get it on with Will, but he stayed aloof. I think his concern about the age thing is still in effect and he about apologized for leading Will on... Gathan and Kristin are really in to it--now. This chapter talks about him visiting every other week. Somehow, once school starts with activities, homework, projects, papers, etc., I don't see how that schedule can be maintained.

Agreed & agreed! The following quoted exchange is incisive! “Did your evidently unpleasant encounter with me diminish your feelings for him in any way?” Granger asked.“Sir…” Gatling objected, but caught Granger’s smile, and got that his captain was teasing him. “No, it didn’t.” “But you assume that if he does, it will,” Granger stated. “So you are a better man?” “It’s not that, sir. It’s just that, well, it’s just that with him, I don’t want to share.” Granger chuckled. “I suspect that when you are around, that won’t be a problem. In the mean time, when you are not, it may be unreasonable to expect otherwise.”

George's conquest of midshipmen continues and I must admit I find it all quite engaging! Well we are now into mid-January and February is on the horizon. I wonder how many more chapters Mark visualizes for St. Vincent?

Chapter 23 - The Morning After
Daddydavek commented on comicfan's story chapter in Chapter 23 - The Morning After
Life is a bumpy ride and Charlie has his share. Nice to see Rick Sr. finally getting that family is family. Still, you have us wondering what's up next? -
I just hate it when anyone goes into a sexual frenzy and then has remorse and cries rape! Sar isn't as smart as advertized and Glory is a combustible substance, mostly all hormones. It is almost pathetic how these two are ruled by chemistry and hormones. It seems they may actually flame-out or burn-out before they ever really get to make a sentient connection.

Star rating system for story chapters
Daddydavek replied to KYE's topic in Mark Arbour Fan Club's Topics
For many gay men, their worst nightmare is being caught in a sexually compromising position by the authorities, with a hot young 18-20 year, only to find out the kid was actually underage. The thought of extended jail time as a gay man convicted as a pedophile is enough to depress anyones' libido. -
Star rating system for story chapters

Mark has an interesting point about judgmentalism in that the gay community is as guilty of it as any other. I have seen dozens of stories denigrating non-mainstream or kinky gay sex involving bondage, fetishes, trannies, etc. Gay men getting nauseous at the description of straight sex is no more unlikely than heteros getting nauseous at gay sex. A percentage of gay bias against bisexuals is also apparent. I think Mark is more catholic (universal-not roman) in his tastes and sees sex on a spectrum from fully gay to bi-sexual to fully hetero with lots of gradients along the way. I note that bondage, fetishes etc. are also part of the heterosexual scene and the bi scene as well.... Having noted all that, I am glad that Mark indicates he tries to follow his own compass. As an author, I think he is interested in being read, but not necessarily in being agreed with 100 percent of the time by his readers. For that I say, bravo!. -
Finally, a chapter that actually had a beginning, a middle and a logical break. This chapter had pacing and moved along well. Now if the remaining chapters are like this one, we should get through this before Christmas 2011! As usual, I am full of questions, mostly the same ones I have had for the last 20 chapters!

Interesting info on how you perceive your creation. Somehow it fits though with Tony's conservative background, having been raised on the 'hill' in South St. Louis. Much different for Will than the expressive 'Berto.

...The More Things Change, the More They Stay the Same
Daddydavek commented on Jwolf's story chapter in ...The More Things Change, the More They Stay the Same
10 Chapters and Coop is finally getting his act together and acting mostly iike a responsible adult. Who'd of thunk it? Although, I guess you have to face some facts when your children are old enough to get caught in bed with a person of interest. Seems to have been somewhat of a life-altering event. Sebastion is a good friend and has provided some insight. Spence is another good friend, but not a relationship model. Now if Chase just turns out to make a real effort to get to know Coop's friends and accept them on Coop's terms, they may have shot after all. Chase's ex is still a concern and he admitted he'd rush back in a crisis. Makes you sort of wonder about that relationship and how accurately it was portrayed. There are always at least, two sides to every story! -
Chapter 3: Ex-Friends
Daddydavek commented on Andrew Q Gordon's story chapter in Chapter 3: Ex-Friends
Jurors only hear what the lawyers want them to unless they screw up and don't already know the answer to a question they pose. Unfortunately, our justice system is theatre based. Instead of a neutral presentation of fact, they get the lawyers all trying to "spin" the facts to present the case in the best possible light for their clients. People with enough money can get the "best" justice money can buy. Look at O.J. and a few others. Between prosecutorial misconduct, poor judgment and high powered attorneys pointing out that even "miracles" could be a reasonable doubt, it is amazing that justice is as well served as it. It's sort of like our national politics, albeit politics is dirtier! Good job of writing! This chapter completely held my interest. My only complaint is that it was too short! More please! Soon! -
Tony's family history is complicated and his father died when he was very young. That he has issues including some anger is to be expected. Hopefully, it doesn't come to dominate his life with all these feelings being opened up and examined again. He seems to be a genuinely nice guy, but uptight. Hopefully, Will and the others can get him to relax and enjoy his stay. Nice job, but whats up with Gathan et al?

I still say home-schooling is the answer. The ending of this chapter with the outrageous demand by the "bitch is back" is over the top like most of this story. I know I grew up in a much different time and place, but I could not put up with all this drama. I would tell daddy, my friends and anyone else I cared even a little about that it is time to get out of Dodge and do it. Life is too short for these kinds of machinations and sticking with them sounds like a prescription for an early death anyway.

Circumnavigation 89: A Deal with the Devil

Interesting speculation about Trevor's mom. Somehow, I think if she was in the area and knew of Trevor, the story would be different, she would have made an appearance and filled in some blanks, especially about December 17 and some application of the statute of limitations??? At any rate I figure by Halloween 2011, we may actually have gotten to December 17th story-wise. -
"Great point. They'd probably have their own personal cabanas/shower rooms on the beach." Well they have 2 houses joined together. In all the prior stories, nothing is ever described regarding a beach level cabanna or, an outdoor shower facility/hose off area. That leads me to believe it is nothing special. But every beach side house has some such facility. Beach life is pretty casual. Whether it is peeling out of a wet suit, changing on the beach under a towel or loosing your suit in the surf, occasional nudity is not uncommon nor commented on. These kids have spent their childhood at the beach. Even if the beach wasn't their complete thing like Will or Brad, I am sure they all spent a lot of time their just chilling out, it is too enticing and mesmerizing not to. Living on a beach, you just can't ignore the waves all the time.

Besides being multi-specie, Glory has a strong feminine side. No guy would get in between an alpha male correcting a lesser male who disrespected him like Glory did trying to get between Sar and Valentino. That Glory got hurt again as collateral damage would have been expected by any other male. Glory is supposed to be street smart, meaning he is supposed to have the pecking order figured out. He doesn't act like it.
-
I disagree. They live on a beach, probably with an outdoor shower which is mandatory to get rid of the sand. If it's at all secluded (and this is Malibu) I am sure they would have dropped suits and washed the sand out of their crotches. As the children of some pretty liberal parents, I can't imagine that a little casual nudity would be anything out of the ordinary!

Blossoms on our peach tree
Daddydavek commented on LJH's story chapter in Blossoms on our peach tree
A sad story, made all the worse by a permanent loss. A little too dark for me. I guess I am too much like Scarlet: "Tomorrow is another day!" My folks were raised during the depression and underwent great hardship, grandparents on both sides lost their farms. Like 'lil Orphan Annie, both of my parents were sure that tomorrow would be a better day. They instilled that in me and I always have hope. Here's hoping that you can find a ray of sunshine, or at least a moonbeam to hang on to! -

While the Aussie Coast Guard types really are trying to help, the dirty cop in Florida found out about the re-issued driver's license and the wicked witch quickly passed the info onto Sanchez. B'stoke will be in C and probably soon after receive confirmation that he guessed rightly. Our intrepid hero and his sidekick need to stay out of sight. The reporter and his counterpart with the garlic crusher are hell-bent on their story. Still no info on what Trevor's dad and his partner are doing; what their PI is doing; what the good Florida cop is doing; what Lisa and her fiancee are doing; and all the disparate elements do seem to becoming a little too much to keep track of. Slowly, slowly the plot thickens--concrete like! -
I hate to say it, but give 100 lawyers the same legal question and you will essentially get 100 legal opinions varying from no legal liability to complete legal liability. The latest chapter of PMS has Will being a little shit prying into Pat's private life. While he entertains himself acting this way, he isn't learning boundaries or respect for other people's privacy. Even though he is a young teenager, as the employer to the employee, he is engaging in sexual harrassment and that would be chargeable and could cost dad a lot of money if an employee decided enough was enough. Will indicated his motive was to help, but his motive doesn't mitigate the legal liability for harrassment.
-
I'm glad to see them all back in Cali but I'm missing the hockey players, Matt, Wade and the rest of that gang! Will is still a big (little) shit and Pat's private life seems to be fair game for him. Tony is a timely distraction! Gathan is starting to absorb some of the real facts of life. For most college kids however, their emergency fund is their parents, which Gathan is a little short of. NOT-in an adoptive sense! Monthly trips back to Ohio, on Stef's plane? Someone else raised a good point about the availability of general aviation at LAX and SoCal! Skype won't be around for another 4-5 years. I still say long distance relationships, particularly at their age will never work. Is he going to get back to Ohio to take her to prom and all the other dances?
-
Another turn in the story. I await the backfill details to sort out where everything is going. It seems there are lots of disparate element to come together.
