After reading this story again many years later, I don't think it had the same impact on me as when it was first serialized on Nifty. The jokes still made me groan, but this time around it seemed the plot was a bit shop worn.

I think one moment of weakness in a 19 or 20 year old should not be fatal if their love is true. Hopefully, both will learn from this as a lesson learned....if Mike recovers.

Ok, so now I'm beginning to remember this story. But its been a long time ago. Like maybe when I still had a dial-up modem. The part about the guardianship and having to get a job for the summer did it.

I thought they were all ill-timed. -
I suspect Will meets JF and finds he needs money...and is as Steff said: Stunning. I also suspect that Mark will spin it out so it's not quite so crass. (I must be getting to be a grumpy old goat.) I did like the exchange between JP and Will. JP has treated Will like an adult for some time now, but one whom he favors and needs to provide some guidance and clarity.

That worked out well and made me hungry to boot! I especially liked the image of the judge going to kitchen to meet the chef!

Why am I hoping that the party coming up fills in the gap in JJ's love life with a new interest and that another Mr. RightNOW arrives for Will.

Philip's past could be a can of worms that is best left untouched. Philip will have to decide how much to divulge and assess how he wants to proceed. Somehow I have faith the young hero can be a hero to himself too!

I'm wondering if Chartley's rescue and confirmation of at least one prisoner who was not reported to the Tsar was the work of his brother....

Thank-you for sharing. I especially liked the part about your dad putting you up on his shoulders at the Calgary Stampede. That and other treasured memories that bring a smile to your face will help as you mourn him. May he rest in peace.

Wayne's story about Jonas is my favorite of his and one I've recommended in the past. Fantastical but relatable and through it all we see Jonas as the quiet unassuming guy just trying to do a good job. Wayne did a great job of crafting this story and the ending is very satisfying. -
That went better than I expected. The judge was a no nonsense type and moved everything right along.

Another cliffie? If my child called at 3 in the morning asking about a dream, I probably would tell them to get counselling or see a psychiatrist and hang up. I'm interested in what Ford was doing on his laptop which he closed so quickly. Ford does seem insatiable.
