Momma Rush be good, don't scare the boy off by gawking....tempting as it maybe. I don't see your post as being selfish Gaytron, you're encouraging your fellow man/woman to get into better shape. I'm going to start on something along the lines of you, cutting out as much soda as I can and stopping my fast food as much as possible (which in all honesty I don't do a lot of anyway) and trying to get to the gym more often. I've got a membership to a 24hour place in town but in the two months I've had it I've only been able to get there about 6 times...I've had a helluva run of colds recently these last few months. I wish you luck all luck on your fitness endevors.

One of my Sisters was in a similer situation to this not to long ago. She was with this one guy who kept dumping her and soon as she was over him would come back. After the last go around she was so devastated that one of her friends where she lived had to step in and get pretty physical with the guy. He was only doing it because he enjoyed seeing her get hurt but the threat of bodily harm * he was such a pretty boy* made him get the picture. I'm not saying that you have the guy injured but maybe getting to him and telling that your not gonna stand for him contuniuesly hurting her, some time a hollow threat works wonders.

I never went to high school so I never had the issue of having to deal with Prom and being gay, to be honest I wouldn't have gone anyway lol. Maybe its because I don't have that stigma but I can see both points being made here. I agree that a canceled Prom isn't the end of the world but you've got to step back and take a look at the broader implications. How can we solve harrasment and discrimination in the work place if we can't prevent it our schools? You can't fix the big issues without fixing the small ones first, it undermines the entire system. We learn hate and discrimination at a young age, from home, from tv, and from school. We can't change what kids learn at home, what their exposed to, but we can make a difference by changing the rules of the schools, making them a safer more fair minded place. I'm sure I'll get argument here *what good does changing the schools if we don't change the rules for society as a whole* You've go to think though, Rome wasn't built in a day. Build the foundation first, then the structure it supports. Older minds, older people don't change just because you repeal and pass laws. I'm not saying people don't change but the vast majority don't because they are still chalked full of the programing they recieved as kids. PUBLIC schools are a place where a real and tangible difference can be made, examples can be given that will carry over into the adult life. Do you think this girl or the other LGBT students will be better for this experiance or worse, will this make them champions for Civil Rights or make them hopeless jaded assholes who don't care about the world around them. People may not think so but this 'little' story could cause VAST changes in the people involved, positive and negative and affect anything they might do and any LGBT laws or movments in the future, ever heard of the Straw that broke the camels back? As for Don't ask don't tell. I don't have any strong feelings on the subject, I don't intend on joining the military but I do feel for the people it affects. I understand that it's not fair not to be able to be yourself in the defense of your country but you have to admit there is safty in silence and ambiguity. I can't honestly believe anyone would think repealing the Law would make military life for LGBT soilders any easier, sure they wont be discharged but they'll always have that stigma hanging over their heads, marked men/women, if you will. My final point, if I've even made one in this little ramble, is that does it really matter? Media coverage should be balanced between *large* and *small* issues but in the end it out of the common people's hands, its for the government and the courts to decide. best Wishes, NightOwl

I agree lol. I really liked the first season of the show, I've set up a recording for it on Scifi although I'm hoping they bring it to ONdemand as my shows have a tendacy to be erased...which IRKS me lol.

I think they should respect the families wishes and keep the video to themselves. Beside I see no reason why it needs to be released anyway. I think they should consider using as part of their training for other trainers but I see no purpose it would serve being shown to the general public. Just my opinion. Best Wishes, NightOwl

To me, and I could be completely wrong here, it means that by letting ourselves be controlled by fear we are not only demeaning ourselves but our brothers and sisters as well. Each of us has the power to be a strong postive force in the world, if only in a small way, but by abdoning that power because of fear we slip in to apathy, monotony and dissconnection. Instead of standing up for ourselves and others and the world itself we allow fear to brow beat us into a state of non-action as we watch the world and civilization slowly crumble into dust to be scattered by the winds of time and decay. As I said, i could be wrong, and this entry is subject to change....this is just what came to be off top of my head after reading. Best Wishes, Nightowl.

Please you had to be deaf dumb and blind to not know dude was gay. I have a terrible gaydar and I knew it lol. However good for him, its better to have a late life coming out then never to come out at all, like the guy from M.A.S.H David Ogden Stiers who played Charles Winchester.

Thanks for the comments Nephy, Smarties. You two have really given me some stuff to think in. I appreciate you taking the time to give me your thoughts.

Hey yall, This is something that has been bugging me recently. I wonder if there is anyone out there that has ever missed anyone that they have enver met, and heres why I ask. My mothers dad died when she was just six or seven years old so it is pretty obvious that I have never met the man, but since I was I was a little boy I've missed him. As far back into my childhood as I can remember I've wanted to know him, and that was before I even knew anything about him or his life, I knew he had existed and I wanted him, pure and simple. That desire has grew steadily over the years into something of an obbsession. I have dug through my Grandmothers photo albums for pictures of him, talked to my Aunt and had hes druge up as much information about as she could remember about and have even made plans to go to Kentucky this Summer and see his grave and try to talk to his little Sister *the last living member of his family beside his off spring* and I'm told she's half crazy. The point I am trying to make here is that while I accept that I am missing him, desperatly, I don't understnad why. I mean my fathers father died when I just a baby, infact it was his dieing wish that I be babtized in the Catholic church but I don't have this insane to desire to know him so why my mother Father? I feel as if visiting his grave is something that I don't just want to do but something that I NEED to do, almost as if I there is something that is pulling me there. No in my family really understands me on this, most infact think its foolish to get this hung up by a man that I never met but they don't get it, (not that I do either). I'm not even sure my Grandfather would like me if he were alive today, I'm a lot different than the sons he raised, a lot different than what was considered 'acceptable' back in his day. I like to think though that we'd have some stuff in common, he was an English teacher for part of his life and loved being out doors and English and Ecology are some of my favorite topic's and I love to go hiking and being outside. I guess I'll never really know for sure though. I seem to have rambled a bit here but I made my general point. Is it wierd to miss some on you've never known, has it ever happened to you? Best Wishes, NightOwl

I don't think I know this one, though if you happen to have a name of one of the charecters it could be useful in finding it. -
Shells and cheese, grilled pork chops with cayenne, garlic and onion, and peas with mushrooms. YUM. THis is the first time in nearly two months when i've got to cook on my own.

Good point Nephylim, I hadn't considered...

This topic really raises some pretty deep questions for me, which is something I need to think about more often; I don't want to be one of those formless, shapeless, uninspired people who just float through life. The concept of passion isn't something I've really considered untill now, in either sense of the word to be honest. Like Cia I don't think I have a single all consuming 'Passion'. I'm passionette when it comes to a lot of things though, my writing, reading, my dedication to my family and friends, the preservation and conservation of nature, my nature photgraphy; when i have the time to pursue it. You would think that people who have a sinple passion would miss the flavor of life, the variety. Like Corvus said life is constatly changing, constantly challenging, I think being dedicated, being tied down to a single passion would be hindering to the evolution of the person. Perhaps I'm wrong, I dunno. Best Wishes, NightOwl

This is one of my favorites to be perfectly honest with you, I've gotten it a few times in the last couple of years, although I have no idea why.

For a bit of a bear cub like myself you would be surprised how many folks don't belive i'm gay because I DON'T exibit any of the so called *effeminate stereotypes* I'm not *stylish* give me jeans a t-shirt and some running shoes and I'm set I hate to shop and I listen to country and southern rock(that alst one REALLY messes with the heads for some reson). Its funny though how a lot of my good qualities do get tossed in with me being gay, when folks realize it. I've been able to cook, clean, maintain a household, sew, and do laundry like a pro since I was thirteen years old and while most folks seem to attribute that to me being gay its in reality due to have a lazy a$$ slave driver for a stepdad and old world grandma. I think that some stereotype are picked up as we grow and others are preseant from the time we're born (which then i don't think are stereotypes but a persons actually personality). My ex for example could be a poster child for many of the so called *gay stereotypes* He's got the effeminate voice, the *gay* style with his clothes, he knows more about fashion then most models, and he's been like that SINCE CHILDHOOD. For him its not a stereotype it is LITERALLY who he is. Stereotype do exist but I think you ahve to be careful as to how you apply them, for some its not stereo, for some its who they are. What really gets me though are the ones out there who actually TRY to ascribe to the *stereotypes* of being gay or lesbian becuase they think thats how it is supposed to be. Thats sad.

The Olympic's being done doesn't really bother me, I never watched them anyway; never do. TV really ain't a big part of my life either, I watch maybe a handful of seasonal shows, but I can take or leave any of them lol and deffinatly don't do reality or sitcoms.
