  1. Oh yeah.... I loved Bedknobs and Broomsticks... still do. And I loved Chitty Chitty Bang Bang too. But my favourite childhood film of all and one that I infected my daughter with too... was Doris Day in Calamity Jane... *Once I had a secret love... who lived within the heart of me. All too soon my secret love became impatient to be free.*
  2. Pretty much straight away... certainly on the same day.
  3. In my area the vaccine has been offered to all those who work in the NHS, the staff at local nursing homes and the staff of local chemists. Everyone I have spoken to who have been offered it have declined. Having said that have only spoken to a couple of people. For myself, I am deeply suspicious of vaccines at the best of times and this one has not been tested anything like enough to make me trust it. Of the three friends I know who have had the vaccine, all three have become ill. One of them was more ill than the other friends I know who have had the flu. It is likely that my son and I will be offered the vaccine as we are both asthmatic but I will have to have a long and frank discussion with the doctor before I allow my son to have it and I doubt I will have it. All flu is dangerous. All flu is still fairly rare. For me, I'll take my chances
  4. You're just evil wherever you post Thats why we love you
  5. Cat psychology
  6. I'd guess at the massive conscious effort
  7. Stare at it a lot, growl and hiss when it does something wrong and whatever you do don't yawn.
  8. I love candles. I burn them all the time, almost every day and have a huge stock of all kinds. I use them sometimes in magic so I have all sorts of colours from black to white, especially red, orange, blue and green. I LOVE Yankee candles and anything vanilla or spiced scented.
  9. Sweet potatoes roasted are awesome I would eat them no matter what the colour if they tasted as good... although pretty colours might be nice with salads
  10. Thank you for opening out eyes to this conspiracy. Unfortunately I am too lowly to have been worth bribing but I will be happy to help in any way, if only to ensure that my fellow GAers are safe from the evil macinations of the dark goat. Of course.... I AM the Queen of Evil... so I habitually inhabit the dark side... so can you really trust me
  11. He's still a kitten, not a year old yet. He'll grow out of it but you're right, in the meantime he's dangerous. Is there no way you can temporarily re home him until he calms down? Otherwise the only option appears to be permanently re homing him. It just isn't safe to have your mother and the cat in the same home no matter how much she loves him and I would be very uneasy with suggesting drugging an animal.
  12. I call everyone 'dude'... I think dudette is just affected
  13. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DUDE
  14. There's no blood relationship and it isn't as if he was brought up by him... or that he hasn't had previous incestuous experience It was just a thought
  15. That's not like any orcestra I'VE ever seen before. Awesome.
  16. Of course... there is still the whole kidney thing left to come... perhaps Matt will meet a sexy doctor at the hospital or maybe *evil grin* no one ends up with Matt becuase he dies... or Robbie might die and Matt end up with Brad. Hehe ... yeah... I am kind of hung up on death... it's just so sexy

  20. Alhough it was a very long time ago... wayyyyy too long I do actually remember my first kiss. I was 14 and at a party and a boy danced with me all night and then, when it was time to go home he walked me to the door out into the cool moonligh. He took me into his arms and I had never been that close to a boy before. My whole body was tingling with anticipation... the sight of him, his beautiful brown eyes, the smell of him, the touch of his body. Our lips touched and it was the best sensation, sending ripples all through my body. I clung to him, afraid I was going to faint there and then because the pouding of my heart was making me light headed. And then he had to go and spoil it all by doing something stupid like sticking his tongue in my mouth... eeeewwww. What did he have to go and do that for. I slapped him and he laughed at me because I was 14 and knew nothing about kissing. I never saw him again but next time I was prepared
  21. These days I would tend to suggest that monogamy is a preferred state, if for no other reason than safety. However, I don't think that monogamy is any more a natural human state than heterosexuality. One of the main genetic drives in humanity is to procreate and than means for a man spreading your seed as widely as possible and for women to take your seed from as wide a gene pool as possible. Another basic drive is the need for companionship and closeness... a need to be cared for and loved. The idea of monogamy came, I believe with a desire to keep bloodlines 'pure', the whole social construct of heredity and legitimacy. Maybe it is a natural progression of society as it evolved but not a basic human drive I think.
  22. Hehe another Polyanna I am certainly being mauled ruthlessly by many things at the moment... but hapiness and good fortune is definately in there somewhere.
  23. I prefer to be on top myself
  24. I make everything into a sandwich... my favourite Chocolate digestive biscuit with cheese and sliced pickle onions.
