I have lost part of my spine... was born with one disc and one vertebrae missing. Lost parts of two vertbrae when I broke my back and missing four disks with another two on their way out. Fortunately, apart from pain they do not limit me too much in all the important ways.

I'm not really qualified to answer this question because I am not straight but for what it's worth the reason I came here was because I had been writing gay literature for some time and a gay friend of mine who was the first ever to read it suggested I take a look at the site as a means of getting others to do the same. So I came here just to post my stories and found and incredible community of interesting, accepting and 'real' people who made me feel, possibly for the first time ever that I could be completely and utterly myself and have not (yet) gone screaming to the hills when I do just that This place is unique and I find it hard to believe that anyone who finds their way here would not want to stick around.

I hate to do this but there was an epic line in 'The Wizzard of Waveryley Place@ I know, I know.. Disney eeew. But Alex said something like.... I just act like things are going to happen the way I want them to and most of the time they do. It's a new twist on an old psychology which I believe may be called mirroring... the world mirrors your mood... so if you approach something believing it is going to work out well it will... you smile at people; they smile back, you go in with attitude; you get it back, you frown; they back away... that kind of thing. As for watching what you say... well you are what you are and those who like you like you for who you are and those who don't like you don't count... so be yourself, always, for better or worse. It was the timing that killed me (sorry bad pun). I cried pretty much the whole way through and I doubt I will ever be able to read it again. I probably should have waited to read it but I was in a self destructive mood yesterday. It was an awesome chapter though and a fitting requiem. Thanks.
