Kyle wants to get his boyfriend something special, but the watch Freck likes is way out of Kyle’s price range. Maybe with help from friends and family, and with a lot of self-sacrifice, he can swing it, but they’ll both learn the greatest gift is one they already share - the love of family.

Unfortunately, he ends up sharing his house with two German exchange students visiting for the summer. If that wasn't bad enough, he also starts being haunted by the ghost of a woman who died after falling from a lighthouse decades ago. And he develops a crush on Loren, one of the exchange students, who starts to reciprocate his feelings.

Starting college can be difficult for a lot of people. For LGBTQ youth, it can be particularly difficult. Navigating a new environment and making new friends is a daunting prospect for Taylor, who finds college life isn't quite what they expected.

Francis (Freck), Kyle's boyfriend, will be going with them, but he has a history that includes drugs and a suicide attempt when he was only eleven. On top of that, Freck, a freckle-faced redhead who was raised Catholic, now has a Jewish boyfriend and has come to realize that he's one-quarter Jewish. Naturally, he's curious about what it all means. But what will happen when his life hits a minor bump in the road?
