A short story about two boys who come together and become more than they are on their own.

This is a true story. The events described happened to me. Nothing has been changed or altered or embellished.

The Kombat Kids belong to Unit One. Unit One was Started by James and Matt Bateman to give the local boys an option to the mostly homophobic Church run youth groups and the scouting programs. The Unit is located near the Columbia river in the South East Corner of Washington State and is made up of mostly gay boys and men. Members learn to cope with their own fears and problems during the first year and a half of the Units existence.

Matt and Andy start Knots 5 in the summer before their senior year in high school. They’ve tied some pretty big knots in the last three years. Matt is still unsure about his sexuality and made some mistakes that jeopardize his future. Andy knows he’s gay and wishes Matt did too. It isn’t to be at least for now. Matt and Andy are in their twenties at the time of this writing and are telling us about the knots they tied in their lives during their senior year in high school.

This is the fourth in the series of stories called Knots. It's the story of Matt and Andy, who were fourteen when Knots was first published and are now sixteen and juniors in high school. This is the continuing story of the relationship between Matt and Andy and the knots they tie that change the course of their lives.

Matt and Andy are struggling with their sexuality along with the trials and tribulations that come with being a teenager. Decisions they make cause them to tie knots in their lives that have both good and bad consequences.

Matt and Andy are searching for who they are and have been willing to share the highs and lows of their four years in high school. Knots 2 covers their sophomore year and the knots they tie in their lives.

It documents the challenges their friendship faces as the boys move through their freshman year in high school. Each part of the series covers a year of the boys' high school life until they graduate from high school.
