Having recently lost his second parent, Huon Davenport meets a stranger from Europe, who has a story about their fathers, when they were students at Oxford University.

Meanwhile, Huon is discovered to have a singing talent, which his school friend, and his friends mother, the schools chaplain, try to encourage him to continue.

Nick and Dave are off to college, but sadly not the same one. While Nick is attending Sapswell with all their friends from secondary school, Dave is commuting every day to Dorcrest Independent College. Staying together when you have to work to see each other every day is hard, especially when a new activity takes over much of Nick's spare time, namely his new rock band.

In the West Midlands small town of Windfield Green, being gay is something of a rarity. For Nick Davis, the idea of coming out feels like a death sentence, and things only become more difficult when he falls in love with his best enemy, the popular and good looking Dave Thompson.

This story has been slightly reworked for quality and also consistency with the sequels.

Shunned since he came out, Zach finds a way to get even with the one behind his misery, helping the other gay freshmen of Carmel in the process. (October, 2009)
