Chapter 22- Prompt 15- Free Verse- Waiting, and Your Voice

Waiting

You may not be here in addictive flesh

But you are with me nonetheless

Tendrils of memories and ghosts of slick touches

Envelope me and soothe the ache

I can hear those sounds you make

And they are keeping me sane

I am waiting

Trying to fill my time

While my need for you crescendos

But still, I am waiting, harnessing my woes

Because I know you will make me forget

That I was ever alone

Your Voice

The noise jolts me even though I wait for it

It’s a struggle not to revert to my inner child

And grab this wondrous implement

That carries your voice to me

Sweet anticipation battles with frantic desire

Breathless and powerless, I answer its trill

“Babe?”

Sighing, my world comes back into balance

“I miss you,” is all I need to hear

I woke up with these waiting to get out. I will follow the Prompt instructions eventually....

oh Gary, dude, I love these. They are amazing.. talk about speak to you, yes gloriously they did.
Waiting is gorgeous. There is so much want in it, desire. I know these feelings well, since my man is away. So full of feeling.. wonderful. I couldnt choose a fav line.. I tried but they all need each other.
Your Voice, something I understand well, too. As i know you do. When the phone rings at night and I hear his voice.. well my world is perfect again.
So well written Gary... loved em.

Thanks, tim. I thought these would resonate with you. Waiting is sometimes pure agony, but it's worth it. Meanwhile, just hearing that voice is enough to soothe, and comfort. I felt better after I wrote these... such is the power of words. Thanks for the wonderful validation. I liked that you said all the lines in 'Waiting' needed each other...such a great review... Cheers... Gary...

The poems are wonderful Gary.

I think Tim has said everything that needs or could be said, so I am not going to add any more commentary.

Thank you for sharing your words with us. :)

Thanks, Reader. Yeah, Tim's review was pretty great. I appreciate your echoing the sentiments... These were personal and I'm so pleased you liked them. I'll share my words as long as you're reading them... cheers, my friend...Gary...
