Moggy's Mutterings - 33. Slipping

I closed my eyes for a moment.
You were there.
Reaching for you,
You danced away.
Calling for me to follow.
Eyes popped open,
You were gone.
Just the faint whisper remained.

Shadows and light trying to touch the living.
Life and time, unforgiving.
Shadows haunt the light.
Day haunts the night.
Feelings and thoughts slipping.

I like the edge of mystery in this poem. It invites in but does not share too much with the reader. It's fascinating.

Do these... memories... come unbidden? Or do we invite them? I know that feeling of opening my eyes to the feeling of someone having just left... evocative, moggy... cheers... Gary...
