Chris is a nineteen-year-old community college student and part-time bartender who lives at home with his parents. Callan is a 23-year-old post-graduate student living on his own, 1,200 miles from where he grew up, who discovers while working on his Ph.D. that he has become an inspiration for the younger Chris. Both are aspiring musicians.

The story begins as Callan seats himself at the bar at the Saguaro Grill where Chris works, and before the evening ends Chris has offered to help him land a gig as the Grill’s musical entertainment a couple of nights a week, an arrangement that works out well for both of them.

Chance Watson, a gay, Caucasian free lance writer, moves from the drabs of NYC to just outside El Paso, TX, renting one half of a duplex. The day he moves in, he meets his neighbor, seventeen year-old Jonathan Cortez, (JC). The two males have an instant 'like' for each other, and quickly form a close friendship.

Patrick is a writer for a food magazine. Although Christmas is over it doesn't mean the work is. Cancelling out on his sister's dinner he asks for a raincheck. He gets it only to have it called in for that weekend. His niece has just graduated college. Now he will need to deal with snow storms, delayed flights, young adults, a crush, and a fall. Pat will have to deal it all, just maybe later.
