GA Writing Prompts - 43. # 9 Oleander
Oleander
Â
Leander cast him a smile before he left the room. Crius looked after him and fidgeted. His heart was beating fast, he bit his lip and put down the cup of wine that he was holding in his hand. He let out a sigh and rose to his feet and then stepped out on the patio and looked down at the Greek Sea. It was midsummer and the sun was ardent. Crius clenched his hands and realized that his palms were covered with sweat. Leander had almost casually touched his hand when he had served him the wine. Crius looked at the plants on the patio that the gardener had carefully arranged in clay pots. Flowers, red like a rose and with the fragrance of intoxicating wine. Crius drew in a deep breath. Oleander, highly poisonous.
