GA Writing Prompts - 65. Poetry Prompt # 15 - Free Verse

Under the Blossomed Trees

We kissed under the blossomed trees
And we strolled through the fields of love
I saw the sun shine on your hair
And sensed your soft hand on my face
My heart, where are you now?
Why did you turn your back on me?
My heart, why did we fall from grace?
Tell me, why did you leave?

It's very lyric and lovely, with the main 8-syllable lines punctuated so beautifully with the 6-syllable ones.

It may be free verse, but I think you show a great control of lyricism here, and use it to paint a stunningly vivid scene and emotions.

Thanks for taking the poetry prompt challenge!

Thank you for the kind feedback! And thank you for the prompts. I always look forward to them. :)
