Lost - Two Timer series - 5. Chapter 5

Adam comes home.

Adam arrived home satisfied. He parked the jeep grabbing the cupcakes he promised Patrick, off the passenger seat and headed for the door.

Once entering the house his nose filled with the aroma of beef stew and fresh baked rolls, reminding him of his childhood.

“Mom cooked before he left,” he said, to himself as he saw Patrick coming down the stairs, still wearing the same clothes from that morning. Adam hated the interruptions that happened when he and Patrick were in an embrace earlier that morning.

Adam placed the white box down on a nearby table. Before Patrick finished descending the stairs Adam swept him into his arms whirling him causing laughter.

“Adam, put me down, I’m getting dizzy.”

Adam lowered him but didn’t release him. Patrick’s laugh trickled off as he looked at his detective smiling down at him. Patrick tried to say something when Adam kissed him. Once their lips parted Adam watched Patrick’s dazed stare as he released a heavy sigh.

“You’re in a good mood,” Patrick coo.

“I’m always in a good mood when I come home to you.”

“Yes, but, you seem extra happy.”

“Oh, do I?”

“It wouldn’t have to do with the smell of cook food?”

“Well, it’s increased my temperament.”

“Good, because this morning…” Adam stopped him with another kiss.

“Never mind about this morning.” Adam’s lips ran down to Patrick’s neck as his hands unbuttoned his pants. Patrick grabbed his wrist stopping him.

“Adam, you must be famished I can make you a plate.”

But Adam wasn’t having it he held Patrick in place and kissed him again. Patrick knew when Adam wanted him he was not giving up without a fight. Patrick tried to calm Adam’s urges, but his caresses were too strong to ignore as he forgot why he was trying to stop him.

A person cleared their throat stopped Adam who turned to see his mother standing on his staircase.

“Mom?” Adam said, not sure, wearing his robe.

“Yes, it’s me. I hope you don’t mind I took a shower and forgot to pack my robe, so I borrowed yours? Patrick said it was okay.”

“Um, yeah.” Adam’s erection subsided as he released his mate.

“It got late, so I asked Anton to stay the night,” Patrick said, flustered.

“Oh, sure. You both must be beat. How much did you get done?”

“Everything’s unpacked?” Anton said.

“All of it? That’s shocking.” Adam said, wary.

“Why is it so shocking?” Anton said, walking down to stand in front of Adam.

“Well, there were a lot of boxes.”

“So, I managed a farm house with four boys, this was a walk in the park with Patrick’s help.”

“Right.” Was all Patrick’s input.

“So, are you hungry or do you want to put us under a heat lamp and interrogate us?”

“Sorry, I’m staring,” Adam said, glancing at Patrick.

“Good, Patrick will take you to your meal.”

Without a word Patrick took his hand and led Adam to the kitchen leaving Anton in the hall. Once he heard them moving about Anton went back upstairs retrieving his cell phone from his pocket.

“Are you still there, Molly?” Anton asked.

“Yes,” she said.

“Sorry, Adam came home.”

“Well then you should go.”

“No, I need you to tell me Devin’s address.”

“No, Anton.”

“Please Molly. I need another chance with him.”

“Do you want him to mace you or worst follow through with kicking your ass?”

“He won’t, this time I found someone to help. He’ll talk to Devin on my behalf.”

“I just need Devin to find serenity …”

“He will, once he hears the whole story. He’ll know he has a family and is not alone.”

Molly said nothing for a moment.

“Molly…”

“I’ll text his address to you.”

“Thank you, Molly, thank you. Now I should go.”

“Anton.”

“Yes?”

“Does Troy know?”

“No. I can’t tell him until I’m sure.”

“He’ll be furious with us when he finds out.”

“When I explain it to him, he’ll understand.”

“I hope you’re right. Goodbye.”

“Bye.” Anton disconnect returning his cell back to him pocket returning to his room. He looked through his bag finding a pair of flannel pants and a worn-out tee shirt he had since Adam was born, changing into them and grabbing his cardigan. He returned the robe to Adam’s bathroom hanging it on the door.

Anton wanted to join them in the kitchen but changed him mind feeling drained. He returned to the guest bedroom which reminded him of a cozy French cottage he and Troy stayed in on their honeymoon.

Anton missed Troy. He needed to hear his voice. As if on cue his cell rang. Like a breath of fresh air Troy was the caller. Anton took a breath releasing it before answering.

“Troy.”

“Hey beautiful. Did I wake you?”

“It wouldn’t have mattered if you did. I miss you.”

“I miss you too. Is the house locked up?”

“Yes.” Anton had asked Sheriff Chris Owen, a long-time family friend, to keep an on the place while they’re away. Chris asked Anton why he was leaving later than Troy? Anton told him he needed to wait for a phone call. Chris seem to buy his lie.

“I was thinking of coming home early.”

“Oh no, Troy you’ll miss the convention.”

“Are you sure? I don’t want you alone.”

“I’m fine. I took my sleeping pill, so I should sleep through the night.”

“Okay, then you should rest. There’s a conference I’d like to see, Paul, Mia, and Kyle are holding me a seat.”

“I can’t wait to hear about it.”

“I’ll clue you in when I get back. Love you.”

“Love you more.” Anton once again hung up first. His emotions surfaced as he laid on the bed and cried himself to sleep.

*************

Devin rolled onto his back panting after fucking Sergio, whom laid basking in the afterglow. Their skin cool from the perspiration. Sergio’s hair hung disarrange as he waited for his pounding heart to settle.

“That was amazing,” Sergio said, grinning.

“I have to admit I enjoyed fucking up your hair.”

Sergio turn his head to him with a shock expression before they both erupting into laughter. Sergio moved to Devin and placed his head on his chest.

“You can mess my hair all the time if we lived together.”

“Gio, I would make a lousy roommate.”

“True, I’ve seen your table manners.”

“But you like my bed manners.”

“That’s true. I can’t believe I mistook you for someone else.”

“Did he look like me that much?”

“His hair and eyes were a different color, but the rest reminded me of you.”

“Weird. Why was he here?”

Sergio sat up and climbed off the bed walking his necked fit body across the room to his bar. He sat on the leather stool and tapped on the bar’s surface waiting for a response his hair haloed his face. Devin tugged his underwear on before grabbing a Sergio’s silken robe and racing towards him. The bartender came into the room just as Devin draped the robe around Sergio’s shoulders.

Without a word the bartender mixed a drink and sat it in front of Sergio on a coaster.

He savored the drink and closed his eyes as the intoxicating brew slide down his throat. A sigh escaped him as his head fell back. Devin stood behind him feeling Sergio’s silken hair brush against his chest as he messaged his neck. Devin knew when Gio didn’t want to answer him he should drop the subject. Sergio opened his eyes and saw Devin looking at him.

“You’re so beautiful,” Devin said, combing his fingers through the long locks.

“Then come home with me.”

Devin sat beside him and stroked his face.

“I can’t Gio, not yet. I have too much to deal with.”

“Tell me what it is, and I’ll make it go away.”

“You’d do that for me?”

“I’d do anything for you.”

“Can we do it again?”

Sergio took Devin’s hand and walked him back to the bed.
