Okay, so let me start out with a possible apology. I wrote the update earlier on and thought I saved it as a post dated blog. If anything pops up in the future saying it is today's wrap up, I do apologize   I wonder if this is covered in the GA Users Manual   Anywho...... It was a busy week in the GA News Blog. We had an extra feature this week! Make sure you check out Myr's Tech Blog post from yesterday to see about what has happened but also what is coming   Monday: W

Weekly Wrap Up (June 17 - June 23)

First off, let's do a plug here at the beginning of the wrap up to recognize GA's original Hosted Author, on his 20 years of posting on the interwebs, Comicality. He is definitely one of our largest drawing authors to this day. So putting Tuesday in front of Monday, lets see what Myr and others had to say:   So back to Monday , Cia introduced us to a new Classic Author for June.   Actually this worked out good going from Monday to Wednesday, Cia followed up more with our Cl

Well this turned out to be a very interesting week here at the GA News Blog. Belated Winter Solstice for our friends down south and a Happy Summer Solstice for those of us in the North Except it is like the whole world is mixed up, we had snow an hour west of the city here, and so did multiple places across the states too! Some up to 2 feet, or 61cm Well no matter if it is snowing, raining, or sunny, you can always count on GA to be here with a ton of new reading and happenings going on. On Monday Cia brought us the Classic Author Feature of the Month who is

Well I'm a silly boy   I was enjoying a nice cool evening to fall asleep to , and was sawing a log or two, when I woke up in shock! Shock I say   You ever wake up and realize you were supposed to do something and you forgot to? Usually for me it is a work thing and then I think to myself that there isn't much I can do about it until the morning and roll over and fall asleep again .  Just note that happened tonight and to show my dedication to everyone and GA, I got up, jump in my

Another week, and another week of nice weather. I guess some of our US of A neighbours had a bit of extreme weather, so hoping you all are okay  Tonight, I actually sat at my computer and watched 3 completely separate thunderstorms move through the city. Great lightening shows, and thunder that shook the stuff in my place. Won't catch me going outside in anything like that again Oops, let me retract that! Watching the 11:30 local news and our major freeway going through the middle of the c

I'm glancing out my window and in my neck of the woods the saying it correct: June showers bring July flowers  Seriously, we are out of the periodic snow now and after a dry first bit of the month, we are getting some rain.   Can you believe we are nearly at the summer solstice in North America? Tonight, dusk was around 10:15. I always like to be camping at this time of year, so you can have a fire going late into the night after a long day of fun! Not sure how many of our members fall in t

Interesting way to start of the blog this week   Sooooooooo, I think I listen to this song at the beginning of each summer as my kick off song to the summer. I like the lyrics and the video. I always wanted to be a boy of summer for a boy . Add in the fact that the kid playing the drums is so intense, who couldn't like this video?  I'm not sure if putting links to videos takes up a lot of bandwidth or not, but why not post a link to your favourite kick off to summer song. I'm sure everyone

There is a lot to be said about being regular. Especially when you reach the age of 50, being regular is just more comfortable way of life  So what the heck am i talking about ? Well this week here at the GA Blog, we had a regular week  M-W-F posting of the ole standbys. I am not saying that a variety of new items and mixing things up is a bad thing, far from it. Change is the necessity of life. So it is always nice to be regular again   On Monday, Cia presented us with a new CSR Featu

Well a Happy Independence Day to my neighbours to the south  Hopefully you were able to celebrate your national birthday this year in a unique but safe kind of way And a belated Happy Canada Day and Happy Somalia Independence Day on July 1st   So I was driving down the road the other day, and I had a weird thought, and wondering if any of you have pondered the same thing, or if not? Howdy Ho! So this week has been very unusual for me  All week we here in western Canada have been hit by what the Western US has had as well. We've been in a heat dome Normally our average temp is 22 C (71.6F) and all week we were above the mid 30's (95F)  I was melting!!! Things could have been worse, one small village in British Columbia broke Canadian records by reaching 49.6 C (121.28). Then a  nearby fire happened and now over 80% of the entire town is gone  Downtown, houses, mostly ev

A belated happy birthday to all the folks up in Canada that had Canada Day on the 1st of July. And an early happy birthday to the folks down in the US of A that have Independence Day on Monday   Can't forget Burundi Independence Day on July 1st, Ghana Republic Day on July 1st, Territory Day in the British Virgin Islands also on the 1st, Philippine's Republic Day on the 4th, and Rwanda Liberation Day on the 4th. Now the question is, do you live in one of these countries other than Canada or

I've had enough rain in the past week to float an ark, or at least consider to build one So If did build my ark, who should I bring two of? Who would you bring on it if you could choose anyone? After all this is an open invitation to all of you, plus one, to come on the GA cruise of a lifetime Enough of this silliness Steve, get onto the wrap up 😠 Oh, you are so not invited onto my ark!!! Meanwhile..... On Monday, Cia had a really engaging set of questions and audience pa
