A story idea or too outlandish?

I just got an idea last night about a story set in Hollywood California about a special agency that works for the big studios.

Sounds simple and easy enough, but here's the twist, they aren't the standard movie star agents, deal breakers, or Entourage-like groups that make people smile. These people are there to dig dirty secrets of the stars or even create them.

They would be the one's behind the curtain, filming sex tapes, getting movie stars into compromising situations, arranging drug deals to hook up famous stars with cocaine, and even murder if the studio needs certain secrets hidden for image like taking out a male prostitute for a closet case gay actor. They're not the mob or anything like that, just a group of people doing some extremely amoral activities in the name of fame, fortune, and power.

It would be a fan faction story gone wild with extreme stories, like giving Heath ledger a "hot dose", because he was about to reveal some secrets or filming a secret tape of Channing Tatum under the influence of ecstasy to keep them under the thumb of his agent.

After thinking about it though, it seems outlandish at second glance like poorly written porn.

Rework it into a comedy and it could be awesome, but I think it might be a bit hard to take it seriously. But that's just my opinion.
