Author Guess Who - Promo

Want to play a game? Wait, what? Ack! Someone get this weird puppet-looking thing and red tricycle out of here!

But how 'bout it, gang? I'm dusting off Author Guess Who and itching to get a few authors in the interview booth. For those of you not familiar with AGW, it's a lovely blog game where one of GA's authors answers some interesting (sometimes strange) questions, then you, the readers, have to guess who it is! For example:

  • If you step on the purple portal pad with the sign, "Free Teleportation," where are you going?
  • Favorite fictional character from any media.
  • What prompted you to write your first story?
  • You're making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Describe your ingredients. Type of bread? Crunchy or creamy peanut butter? Jelly, jam, or preserves?
  • And many others!

This little game has a few uses for our community. First and foremost, it's an absolute hoot! C'mon... The accusatory finger-pointing is the highlight of my day, personally. Second, it serves as a wonderful way to promote hard-working authors who want to put their names out there. No need to wait for an invitation, either! Just send me a personal message, saying you want to participate. As a thank you for being a guinea pig participant, you'll get to include three of your stories/collections in the reveal edition as promotion! How neat is that?

If y'all want to check out some of the previous AGW editions, click or tap HERE to view 'em!

So, let's recap. Any and all authors can nab a little bit of publicity, and we can have some fun and giggles in the process! I call that a win-win, folks! Don't hesitate, send me a PM and I'll send some questions your way!

Although not a GA author yet, I like reading these.  The one about the peanut butter and jelly sandwich struck a chord with me.  My spouse introduced me to peanut butter and pickle sandwiches.  I preferred PB and sweet pickle; spouse liked PB and dill pickle.  Since then I have heard of PB an banana, PB and crackers, and peanut butter and chili.

peanut butter and chili

A peanut butter sandwich with chili is absolutely the way to go. Firstly you must use two pieces of white sandwich bread and slather both sides with the butter of your choice — then you add the peanut butter (preferably sweet and creamy) to one piece of buttered bread and slap the other piece of bread on top. Eat with chili. 👍🏻

Peanut Butter, Chocolate Spread and Banana is my favorite.

I am of the mind that you can smack a pickle on a lot of things and improve it (mushrooms too, for that matter). Peanut butter sandwiches are not one of those things. Although, I've never tried. I think I'll let you continue to be the spokesperson for such a dish and I'll remain in the dark on that one... lol. All the rest of what you listed are good. I do prefer my pickles cold and my PB sandwiches toasted and warm, so that could also have a lot to do with me not being able to wrap my head around the idea. I am a crunchy peanut butter girl as well.

Since I am allergic to bananas, I cannot do that, but the rest sounds good.

On or in my chili, I like mild cheddar cheese, or mild Velveeta cheese, or American cheese.  Sometimes I will add some Louisiana-style Hot Sauce, hot or extra hot salsa, and onions.  I inherited my father's love of somewhat spicy foods (but I avoid the super-hot peppers).  Cornbread of good quality is also good in or with chili.

I wonder if there are any stories here on GA where food or foods form a very important part of the plot?

 peanut butter and chili.

My school district always had chili served with a peanut butter sandwich, all twelve years of my education. They were great for dipping, and I continue to enjoy this tradition still, fifty years after my graduation from high school.

Hmmm, homemade cornbread cooked in the oven in a cast iron skillet, then slathered with real butter just as it comes out of the oven, slice the cornbread in the skillet and allows the butter to melt into it.  So delicious, and goes with so many things...

OPPS!!!

I put my put my piece in a bowl and ladle my homemade ham and bean soup over it. I enjoyed both the cast iron skillet cornbread with soup, and the chili with peanut butter, during our recent and extended polar vortex! Warm food, warm memories, equal warm heart ❣️
