It has finally happened 😮 

Friday I woke up and had to drive though slush and like a blizzard of snow coming down ❄️. 

Which means that probably 50% of the people in our city don't have snow tires or proper all weather tires and probably never will have them. Then 25% haven't got their snow tires on yet  Luckily I'm not in either group. Now I know that probably the vast majority of our readers are in places where snow is seen very occasionally if ever. So you probably never have known there is such things as different tires  Regular/Summer Tires, all Season Tires, all Weather Tires, and Snow Tires. That is from the lowest to highest safety on winter driving. As you go up, usually the price goes up too. So if you live in the Florida Keys, count yourself lucky you don't need 2 types of tires  

Now one of the other joys of the first good snowfall, is everyone has to relearn or even learn how to drive in snow. First instinct is to slow down, which is a good thing, especially if you have the wrong tires on 😮 But, would you say there are limits? I want you to picture yourself in a city during a snow storm. The expressways are plowed and sanded and in pretty darn good condition. The roads are basically wet only. The speed limit on the one I drive is 100 kph or 65 mph. So everyone is driving between 60-80 kph. I personally feel we can do a bit more, but I also know that all the above worked into the equation, a bit slower is probably better.

I started to merge with lots of distance from the left lane to the right lane so I can make my upcoming exit. Problem is everyone in the right lane is bailing out to the lane to the left and I find out the reason why. A car is doing 25 kph on a 100 kph road. I'm surprised nobody has rear ended them yet. So I slow down to 25 and then I look in a my rear view mirror and see someone changing into our lane and when he realizes he can't stop he hits the breaks and steers into the shoulder. No collision, no harm.

Put yourself in my position, even if you don't have snow, picture a steady rain fall or heavy winds maybe doing a soil exchange between neighbours  

Who is more dangerous on the road, the person driving 30 or the other cars doing 60-80? I will also mention that a kilometer to the west and east is parallel roads that run about the same distance as the express way north and south, just with traffic lights. 

Now onto the real question for the week, and I will have to limit everyone to only 3 things each ., What driving habits do other drivers do that drive you crazy? We don't want stereotypes used, so leave out all the gender, race and other distinguishing factors out of your post!! We are a family GA Blog here  Also, do you profess on your life that you are NEVER guilty of doing these same things ? Let's see how honest you are
