DomLuka Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 No thread for DOT??? That can't be a good sign, or maybe I'm a little more loopy than I thought tonight and I'm just not seeing it. So...*Dom taps foot impatiently * It's been like, A YEAR since you've updated. That really is evil.
dkstories Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 I was hoping no one would notice? Actually, that story is up next after DOR is completed. Once I complete Redux, I'll start re-reading DOT chapters and then make my decision on how to handle it. I think Act 3 is going to be handled like the Battle of Taiwan and seen through flashbacks from Act 4. Act 4 is much more interesting anyway.
DomLuka Posted April 30, 2005 Author Posted April 30, 2005 As long as you pack it full of all those agreeable military men I
Site Administrator Myr Posted April 30, 2005 Site Administrator Posted April 30, 2005 LOL! I still haven't started DoT. I hate being caught waiting on a story. **runs from the rotten tomotoes for causing people to wait for me **
Julian Alexander Posted April 30, 2005 Posted April 30, 2005 As long as you pack it full of all those agreeable military men. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hmm A pack of Military men at your will, imagine all the possibilities( ) Julian Alexander
dkstories Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 DoT gets started as soon as Do Over Redux is finished. You can always read Do Over and Do Over Redux if you're needing something to look at. To be honest, I like the Do Over series. It's the most fun I've had writing since I wrote Phone Call.
primewordsmith Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 For all fellow Danaholics who have been suffering delirium tremens due to lack of any recent Dawn of Tears injection, here it is from the Great Tease Himself:- Captain Kirk says: Pastor Jacobs ... killed a kid's parents and sold his sisters into slavery just so he could manipulate and own the kid. Oops, I think I just let out a big spoiler for DoT. I can't remember if we ever published that chapter yet...oh well. That should give DoT fans something to chew on until I get the story started up again (which does grow closer every day because I'm constantly writing small notes down while writing DOR. DoT gets started as soon as Do Over Redux is finished. You can always read Do Over and Do Over Redux if you're needing something to look at. To be honest, I like the Do Over series. It's the most fun I've had writing since I wrote Phone Call. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Influence? Influence?? INFLUENCE! YEAH! Thanks Dan!! Ya Bonza Beaut
Pyro Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Well I love DOT and I can't wait for it to continue when he finishes with his other stories. Pyro :-)
primewordsmith Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 Well I love DOT and I can't wait for it to continue when he finishes with his other stories. Pyro :-) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Bach wrote the Giant Fugue. It intertwines five themes all at the same time, and sounds really stunning. Bach was a really great music writer. dkstories is a really great scifi writer. I have full confidence he can intertwine five stories at once in his weekly timetable. Why should the danimals have to wait til He finishes His other stories before gettting back onto Dawn of Tears. Danimals of the world unite! Petition Vic to organise another DoT support march on the DK citadel. What do we want? DoT! When do we want it? Now! (repeat ad infinitum) You listening O Great One ? <grin> PWS
brax Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Yeah... i lost ALOT of sleep over reading this story. EVERY night for 4 nights straight, i'd get off work at 12:00am, and read until 6:30 am... so yeah... pretty much my entire free time, because i would get up at 3:00pm, get ready for work, and do it all over again...loved the story tho, cant wait for it to continue. dkstories Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 Don't worry Tim, I'll keep the door open for YOU...
Jacob Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 I just finished all the posted chapters of DoT today, and like DOR, it is AMAZING. I'm not sure how you do it, but you make sci-fi really interesting and entertaining. I really like all the political intrigue that you throw into your stories. Its right up my alley. As much as I want DOR to go on forever, I know that at least when it is done your time will be spent on another admirable work.
Tim the Traveller Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 ok you are down to 27 chapters. i'm pacing myself, but who knows how long that will last. I hope you had a very relaxing yet exciting birthday and weekend!!
Trebs Posted March 6, 2006 Posted March 6, 2006 I hope you had a very relaxing yet exciting birthday and weekend!! Relaxing... ummm - ya, you could say that in part... exciting? Uh, ya - that definately fits parts... Let's just say - when he does the blog on this weekend, you'll wonder how we fit it all in.... PS - poor maid - but we left a good tip
Tim the Traveller Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Ok Dan, you now have 23 chapters to go until the harassment starts. I have been pacing myself really well, but after that kiss in chapter 9, I may start reading faster if there's more of that coming up
dkstories Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 So what you're saying is I need to hurry up and end Do Over Redux so I can get Dawn of Tears going, right? Like maybe make DOR only 39 chapters instead of 40?
C James Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 So what you're saying is I need to hurry up and end Do Over Redux so I can get Dawn of Tears going, right? Like maybe make DOR only 39 chapters instead of 40? ACK! No, no, I think the answer is obvious: we need to clone Dan!
Tim the Traveller Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 So what you're saying is I need to hurry up and end Do Over Redux so I can get Dawn of Tears going, right? Like maybe make DOR only 39 chapters instead of 40? I will let you put evil thoughts into my head, I will let you change my perspective, However, I will not let you put words in my mouth. There are other things I might let you put there , but you need to give me lots of U before I let words get put in my mouth. As I have made clear before, Dom and yourself are trusted authors, and the best possible ending at the proper time is in more than capable hands. Does this mean that DOR is ending at 39 or 40? Come on, you can tell me. I'll keep it quiet Ok so chapter 10 was quite umm....yeah so ok
dkstories Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Because the boy's shower room was a favorite place of mine growing up, and I've never really left there? yes I know gay boys are supposed to be scared of the showers...but well I was always pretty tall for a kid my age and not too many people dared to piss me off. Those that did, well they didn't bother doing it again once they'd recovered from their injuries. One time while in school in Eureka, I had a bunch of seniors decide to give me a swirly (you know, sticking a kid's head in the toilet and flushing the toilet). They did succeed, but it took six of them to do it and three were lying on the floor in pain by the time they were done. After, the other three ended up on the floor. I was a freshman.

Note to self: if I'm going to piss off Dan, make sure I'm in a different time zone than he is. Seriously though, good for you! I can sort of identify with that, though sure as heck not taking on six guys! My first serious confrontation took place in the sixth grade. I was a dedicated chicken, who managed, despite all attempts to avoid it, to draw the attention of the school bully, an 8th grader. It was a religious school (Episcopalian) and the grades were K through 8. Basically, I'd made the mistake of having a funny accent (British, due to my family being from there) and the SOB (whose name I can't seen to even remember, now) decided to make my life hell. The School, of course, did nothing. Then one day he cornered me at recess, started hitting me, and I had no choice but to fight. I figured that if I was going to get hit, I might as well hit back. Much to the shock of everyone there (most especially my own) I won the fight. It wasn't even close, even though he was bigger than me. I had no further trouble of any kind with him, much to my delight. I learned an important lesson from that: Bullies are usually all bluff and little substance.
Tim the Traveller Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 Because the boy's shower room was a favorite place of mine growing up, and I've never really left there? Dan, is this legal?!?! yes I know gay boys are supposed to be scared of the showers...but well I was always pretty tall for a kid my age and not too many people dared to piss me off. Those that did, well they didn't bother doing it again once they'd recovered from their injuries. Luckily, I never had to raise my fists in HS. I weighed 300 lbs. and had a very menacing look and attitude about me that just kinda said "dont fu*k with me". Alright, I just finished chapter 16, and I just gotta say, TY dan!! You made me laugh today, and I havent had as much as a partial smile on my face for like 2 days now. "I've been working out a lot, and Hollings finally found himself a decent weight set." I said. "He's been working with me on it as well."The double meaning here just made me bust out laughing, and i had tears in my eyes by the time i calmed down.
C James Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Because the boy's shower room was a favorite place of mine growing up, and I've never really left there? Dan, is this legal?!?! Legal or not, surely Dan is getting water logged by now? Actually, I absolutely fully expected a chapter of DOR or VJ2 to appear today. The reason is simple: It's the one day I couldn't possibly read it! (I just had an eye exam, and can barely see thanks to the drops). Speaking of DOT, though... I am embarrassed to admit that I thought it was Mists of Fate, which I have read. So, what does this mean? It means I have an as-yet unread dkstories story waiting for me.
