Site Administrator wildone Posted November 4, 2008 Site Administrator Posted November 4, 2008 Chapter 12 of Changing Lanes, Departures is up!!!
W_L Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I love the ending, but there is so much more. I am making a bet here: SD Memory Card might be used later, with some sensitive info. Brandson said it was a minor issue, which he forgot. Other than that it was a good moderate cliffhanger, but there is so much more. Everyone was in character and the foreshadowing is both ominous and evil.

I'm sure even if Scar forfills his contract with the General, that the band is now in danger in the name of revenge. Cliffhanger, the General parachuted into rocky terrain in foggy conditions the goat has put the General in danger, but to move the story along, he will survive, but will he be tortured? To get info on the band? Likely to happen, even though I think the Scar will keep his word on rescuing the Generals son, as a contract is a contract and business is business. Once the rescue is played out, the General and his son will be in danger along with the wedding party.

Everyone was in character and the foreshadowing is both ominous and evil. Evil and ominous forshadowing? Well, it is called forshadowing, after all, and we all know that shadowy things are synonymous with evil. But, there is no cliffhanger!!! We know the General cleared the wing safely, so he will therefor, without a doubt, be alive and well when he lands on the island. He can't not land on the island: Gravity works, and so therefor, he will arrive on the island. He will also do so alive and well: even if his parachute does not open, (and he has no reserve chute) he'll be fine when he first touches the ground. So, therefor, no cliffhanger! ........I've got to agree on the memory chip with Eric's slackjaw picture in it, it is indeed a forewarning to danger to Eric and the band. I'm sure even if Scar forfills his contract with the General, that the band is now in danger in the name of revenge. Poor, misunderstood Scar...
jfalkon Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Great chapter! I love the constant competition between Eirc and Helen. I wonder how long before he changes his mind about the tequila. He's bound to fall of the wagon sometime. The General's upcoming agventures are sure to be interesting. Once again everyone's favoite mountain goat has led us to a cliff. Here we go again.
Site Moderator TalonRider Posted November 4, 2008 Site Moderator Posted November 4, 2008 I think Scar's first reaction will be to want to kill the General when he realizes they were on the plane together. I'm sure he will want to know why and where Eric is. Even tho he may want to try and kill him himself, he'll probably send someone after him. The General may get a little banged up during his landing, but he will survive it. Without him, we wouldn't have the second story plot.
Drewbie Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Great chapter action will be starting soon. I do think The scar would want some revenge. C James Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Great chapter! A cliff? What cliff? You know that a goat would never have anything to do with a cliff. Eric and Helen do indeed have a competition. There will be fun to come in that regard. I think Scar's first reaction will be to want to kill the General when he realizes they were on the plane together. I'm sure he will want to know why and where Eric is. Even tho he may want to try and kill him himself, he'll probably send someone after him. The General may get a little banged up during his landing, but he will survive it. Without him, we wouldn't have the second story plot. The General is at a disadvantage. He has no idea who The Scar is. The Scar is under no such limitation. Also, the General is counting on The Scar for the rescue mission. Great chapter action will be starting soon. I do think The scar would want some revenge. I can't say what's coming, or the Echidna will get me, but... hrmmm, I could possibly say there may possibly be future events that are not entirely on the dull side. (but Shhhh, don't let Graeme know I said that, ofr he might get me for leaking a spoiler!) Now, a question.... What did y'all think of the party location? Did I describe it ok, or should I post a photograph? Actually, I think I should post a photograph and see if y'all think I described it okay. I'll start digging through my photos.

Phantom Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Two things CJ.... amazing story... and PHOTO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bondwriter Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Here is part of the opinion I gave the Goat sending back chapter 12. I'll spare you the business details about Mr X., the middleman in the financial bargains. (...)Seriously, though, it doesn't seem the General Bradson/ Instinct plots blend in as well as the Instinct/ Scar ones in LTMP. I personally don't give a rat about the General's issues, especially since they seem to pop up only every now and then. I could perhaps follow the whole Bradson's rescue mission plot, but not with it going along with a wedding planning and gay guys trying to impress bikers. This being ruthlessly laid out, I think you should follow through even if you don't manage to make it as long as initially planned. In LTMP, the two plots coexisted and then merged, but here you've got two plots starting from the same point and then diverging (though I suspect you'll manage to get Instinct back into Bradson's rescue mission, but if so, I'm afraid this'll be too Iron Eagle-like to have me get into it.(...) I think this was a bit early for such a judgment, but it seemed to me that it took a long time for the plot to actually take off. This impression could be caused by reading episodes that have come in after long waits this time.

This impression could be caused by reading episodes that have come in after long waits this time. Bondwriter is quite right on some points; it is taking a while to get to the core of the plot. This was not intended. I originally envisioned CL as 12 chapters. I think it is fairly safe to say, due to me currently writing Ch 15, that it may exceed 12. In LTMP, it took until Ch 22 to discover who the Scar is, and how his plotline related to Instinct's. This time, we see Eric facilitating the General as he embarks on his mission ten chapters earlier. Also, the key to how the two plotlines eventually tie together is in chapter 12. It's a clue, and a fairly extensive one at that. The Iron Eagel reffered to above is a movie, with a supremely far-fetched plot. Trust me, no Iron-eagle in CL! (I've seen it; I consider it high comedy. Politics and feasibility aside, the technical aspects are hilarious! Firing a missile from a fighter that's on the ground, BUAHAHAHAHA!!! There's dozens of such howlers). I can't say what, exactly, but the plot I have is not like that. I think it's safe to say, don't expect things to happen as they might appear at the moment. Up to this point, I needed to show that Brandon and Chase's coming out had its drawbacks, and stresses. Nothing that major is ever without drawbacks, and I felt it was unreal to show otherwise. I also needed to set the stage in other ways, for other things. There's much that I can't say, due to it being spoilers, but yes, it took me longer to get to this point than I'd expected. Will things pick up from here on in? I think I can safely say that they do. And, OH CRAP!! I just checked chapter 12... Uhoh... um, no picture this week! What I was babbling about for the party location is in chapter 13, not 12! ERK, Umm, please forget that I said anything about a party location, okay? Oh, crap, if the Echidna finds out about this, I'm going to be bearing a striking resemblance to a sieve for sure!! Yipes!
C James Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 Txt's greame, bad goat very bad goat No, no! Don't tell Graeme! Those spines are SHARP! Couldn't we all reach a happy compromise, and, ummm, Blame Shadowgod?

Yeah CJ.......head over to Vegas I'm sure nobody will look for you there . Ahhh, errr, I think Vegas is not a good place to hide, for some reason... Ummmm, hmmm, I've got the walking pincushion and the raptor after me... Maybe the Grand Canyon would be a good hiding place.... Or, an old underground mine?
Site Administrator wildone Posted November 7, 2008 Author Site Administrator Posted November 7, 2008 So I am surprised that nobody has picked out that this chapter contains more cliffs in it than possibily any other chapter released by CJ. Both Santo Ant
