Duncan has treated us to another great chapter. Luc and Matt begin to bond a little. It's amazing what a cup of coffee in the morning can lead to. :P

A little light is beginning to get in, but others are still getting wounded.

Woohoo! It's nearly 2:30am but I'm still rushing off to read. No way can I wait till morning.

Comments might have to wait till tomorrow, though, as I'll need time to process.

Edit: Never mind, had to comment right away.

I was laughing hysterically at the coffee scene. Poor Matt. Hopeless in the kitchen. (I wonder if he knows how to turn on the television? :P ). For Luc's sake, I'm glad that happened. Seems comic relief really does diffuse a situation, and Luc will hopefully be able to relax around Matt a bit more, now that they've shared a good laugh.

But my favourite bit was this part:

One day at a time, kiddo, he told himself. That

I love this story like pie. The coffee scene was perfect. I had to stop for a second when I 'saw' Matt all dripping and frustrated. I like him a little more every chapter. Luc was really... very sweet. I like this living arrangement. I'd wondered how it was going to work (still kind of do) because they're both hurting and so clearly broken, but... I like the way they are together. And they've only just met. If nothing else, I think they'll definitely make good friends for each other.

I still worry for Scott and Josh.

Pop tarts. *snickers* That's kind of perfect. I think, about a year ago, pop tarts were breakfast, lunch, and dinner whenever life started to get to fast to keep up with.

I always have to prepare myself before I read this. Everyone is so broken, and it's very raw and painful. In the good way.

Laura. Gymnastics injuries really are hell to get over, and I really hope she does... gets over it. And, ugh, Nationals. All that hard work. And I don't think I've said before, but Bran's a sweetheart. It makes sense that he and Scott are friends. Teddy bears.

Oh, and I almost forgot, I really loved the beginning of the chapter. The way it starts, the day starts, and Luc's hopeful, and then the yesterdays come back and I really love that. I can definitely relate, and then later, when Matt's thinking about taking it one day at a time, and wonders if he should mention it. He should...obviously. It just...fits so well with Luc's mornings.

I need to know more about Matt. I can understand, after learning about Daniel, what's going on with Luc (and good God, I say this in the nicest possible way because I LOVE everyone, but they all need so much therapy) and I understand why he's so fixiated on Scott. I wonder how much of him genuinely cares about Scott and how much of that is just him thinking that Scott is who Daniel would have been if he'd lived, but with the similarities, I can't really blame the kid.

But with Josh... I don't understand what it is with him yet. From what I can tell, Josh didn't really do anything to encourage him. I'm all sorts of intrigued. It's obvious that Matt...got around (slut with a heart of gold) and it's hard for me to believe that he'd think a couple of blow jobs were anything more, especially with the cold way Josh behaved and... I just really wish I knew what else was going on at the time for Matt, or what he was thinking. There's just... a lot of jealousy there. His thoughts of Scott are so similar to Luc's of Josh - actually, I think they're a little...harsher. I think I remember him wondering what Scott...a couple years his junior, could possibly have to offer Josh. I forgave him that remark, because he doesn't know him, and there's obviously something going on with him, I just wish I knew what it was.

And, I wonder (the same way I do with Luc and how he feels about Scott) how much of what Matt feels is really about Josh - the Josh we know - and how much is about... something else, or the Josh he made in his head, because I think it's pretty clear Matt doesn't really know him.

I'm just so worried about everyone.

I'm done. Excellent chapter. Amazing story. I can't wait for more. Cheers.

B) ........Excellent story!! Great morning after chapter, by that I mean having a look into Luc's mindset as he slowly wakens. Leaving the physical pain last, is only an added reminder to his pain. Matt certainly needs no culinary skills in the kitchen, he can't even make coffee!! Great chapter, slowly evolving after the nights events is realistic and somewhat charming!

Thx everyone.

Cyn, the Rufus allusion was in tiny type, but for some reason the formatting didn't come through in this chapter. Oh well. I debated leaving it out...but it works so much better if you know that song...

Jordan, Matt is starting to open up. So stay tuned.

By the way, re: the coffee scene, I feel like an idiot because I just clicked through to read the latest chapter of Gabriel's story, and realised there's a nearly identical scene in the next-to-most-recent chapter there too where Evan forgets the filter. Duh. You guys planned this, didn't you? Evil scheming writers.

Might have known YOU"D be the one to notice this :P . Ok. I'll confess. Despite the fact that we actaully drink most of our coffee in cafes, we have one of those fancy coffee makers. It gets used mostly on weekend mornings when my partner makes coffee and we sit around and read newspapers and stuff. A couple of months ago, he did this...forgot the filter. It was hillarious. I told Gabriel, and, well, the scene worked its way into both our stories indepently. I saw his first, of course, but I'd already written the scene, and, well, we both kept it.

(And now my partner's klutziness is famous in a small circle of friends  )

I sympathize with your partner. While I've never forgotten the filter, I have forgot the actual coffee. The end result is a lovely pot of hot water.

Not to seem like an idiot or anything but, it's going on ONE year since the last post of this story. Is this story really going to get finished ? After this story now I don't like investiing time in new authors if there isn't a finished product. This story is the 2nd time i read a story and it got so far and then just stopped abruptly with no notice at all saying whether or not it was going to finish. I would be more understanding if there was a reason given for the ONE year delay, but since there's no reason then I just will keep the other comments what I was going to say.
