Light Mode or Dark Mode?

So, are you a light mode or dark mode or both sort of person?  

Does it depend on device?

Personally, I use both.  I prefer dark mode when reading and light mode when I'm doing other stuff.  My operating systems are set to dark mode though.

Kidding. My default is light mode because the older I get, my ability to see in low light diminishes.

It depends on the app or site. I prefer dark mode if the light mode is too bright (think white instead of light grey) and light mode if the dark mode has too much contrast between the colours of the text and the background (think black instead of dark grey).

I find it depends, on my phone dark mode, but my laptops i still do light mode.

light mode on everything (iPad iPhone laptop)

- I simply adjust the contrast at night  

…and grope around for the claw hammer 🔨 when evil devices switch to dark mode without my permission

Light for me. Old dog and all that. I've tried dark mode a few times (had to rewrite that and insert 'mode'  ), but never got used to it.

I use dark mode to read stories, light mode when I'm causing chaos around the forums. Which basically means, my phone is dark mode, my laptop is light mode.

Dark mode helps with dyslexia. I always read in dark mode whenever it's available.

Dark mode. I cannot stand to read digitally for very long without switching.

I prefer dark-mode when reading the Boston Globe and the Washington Post (I may be leaving this one soon. I already skip the opinion pieces.) and Apple News. Otherwise, I use light-mode for everything else.

I’m like you.

My phone is set to dark mode because we had to live with years of not having the option, so I’m evening out the usage between the two.

When I’m reading for long periods of time I prefer dark mode if it’s available just because my eyes aren’t as good as they used to be.

My PC has a dark theme on it so it doesn’t blind me when I decide I need to do something on it at 2am but most of my apps are set to normal, except when I write.  The program I use to do that is set for more of a dark navy background and white text because it’s soothing to me.

All in all it’s a mix of both really.

Dark mode all the way, easier on the eyes especially late at night. Light mode feels blinding once you get used to dark
