I have always loved bottoms. They suit me so nicely....

Being a curious and studious person, I *survey* many aspects in lives of bottoms....

LMAO! :funny::funny::funny:

Will turns 15 on Friday, September 14, 2001. Mark has to get in Will's 15th birthday in there somewhere- I know it was pretty traumatic for people who had their birthday on that day, but I suppose it was still traumatic for those who had their birthday that week as well.

I had mentioned to Mark that it was soon time to revisit Claremont...how about Robbie's mom being on top of the WTC, touring with other adult family/friend members also vacationing away from Ohio, leaving all their children in need of adoptive families? This way, there's bound to be some more gay members coming out and non-gay becoming much more tolerant due to the life trauma, and not only gay-male support, but gay-female as well with the mother of Brad's children being in Malibu. Now, finally, JP would be justified in adopting neices and nephews with the last name Hendrickson. How about it, Mark?

An intriguing idea.

my mother had no trauma at all that in her birthday, something went down in USA

Will is from the United States, though, and I remember the country being glum for a pretty long time afterwards, so I'm assuming the party mood is going to be a bit down for his birthday, though.

And we're talking about a 15-year old boy who watched something dramatic happen on TV (or in person) , not an older woman who's prolly seen a good amount of atrocities and disasters in her lifetime.

It is likely something like that could mean therapy for Will, but I think he'll be alright in any event.

On a side note, I was supposed to be born on the forty-first anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Hi Mark,

I think that it would be interesting to involve Ace somehow in the attacks, not having to kill him, maybe disabling him in some way. I think that it could really evoke something in JP, having lost Andre in Vietnam and then something happening to Ace during the attacks. It might be a good setup for a future storyline, especially with some of the rush judgements that were made by the US leading up to invading Iraq. I really enjoyed JP's interest in the Vietnam War and would be curious to see what he thought about everything that happened concerning the War on Terror.

I really like this series. Please keep up the great work on the stories! You're great.

Thank you Anthony! And I got another posting cherry, your first post. :2thumbs:

That's an interesting thought. When I started this poll and this topic, I was thinking that I'd have to knock someone off to have the appropriate dramatic effect, something worthy of 9/11. But since then I've gotten so many good ideas and such great feedback I may go in an entirely different direction. Right now, my big decision is whether to go straight to 2001 or to stop in another year first.

My vote is that you do a story set in 1999-2000 first.

That's a good era. Perhaps the story could stretch from late 1999 to early 2002. Is that too much of a time period?

Given the stretch of time in Be Rad, I don't think that would be out of line for Mark's writing ability. As an aside for Mark...when he reads this thread again, Rob had a cousin, one of a pair of twins (both gay), going to college in New York who came down with spinal meningitis just before the attacks...and was undergoing surgery the morning of the attacks. His mother, Rob's Aunt, had landed at JFK that morning literally minutes before the first crash. She had to walk to the hospital from the airport to be with her son in the intensive care area during his recovery. He was affected by the meningitis, he is now permanently and totally blind. This might give you an idea for a storyline...but, hopefully not any of our story's "heroes"...maybe the "financial advisor" who defected to the mexican drug lord?

Still, I think spanning 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002 is a bit much. Mark tends to have his stories be about a year, sometimes a year and a half.

I think it'd be better to have one story that focuses on 1999 and early 2000, and then another story that focuses on summer 2001 to winter 2002.

Another thought I had was 1997. I was hugely infatuated with the Princess of Wales and was struck pretty hard by her death.

"If it Fits" is winding down, with the last chapter due to be posted within the next twenty four hours. I'm already absorbed in "Master and Commander," the sequel to "The Wardroom." Somewhere in the future I'll be revisiting our CAP friends, and either the next story or the one after that will take us to 2001 and the horrible disaster that was 9/11. It seems to me that such a significant event would engulf their world, just as it engulfed ours, and it seems like one of the main characters of the story would be involved in the conflagration.

I wanted to give you all input into who should die, so vote and let me know.

I'm also in that crowd who don't want any of the CORE family dead. Jim and Rich Cramptons were added lately as I suspect but their death wouldn't have such effect but it wouldn't be reasonably justified and Mark, you've gone far in your writing to write any far-fetched twists. So hurt them anyhow you want but please, don't kill them.

I vote for the Lewinski blow in her job! B)0:) Impeachment is not very often in the U.S. and it could cover very nicely the background story like O.J. case did now.

I get the feeling most people would volunteer Brian Parnell for the job now, I think. I like that Mark is slowing down the pace of the stories and time jumps we take- I think it's good that he won't tackle a 9/11 story until at least later in the year, or early 2011, which would be 10th year anniversary. I feel like a lot of 9/11 stories kinda jumped the gun in being too soon. Enough time has passed that I think a reflective story on 9/11 would be great.

At first, because they were based in California, it seemed like they were going to be far removed, but adding in Wade Danfield of D.C. does put an interesting possibility that they'd have reason to be on the East Coast during September 11th. Stanford doesn't start school until late in September, right? So Wade Danfield would still be in Washington, D.C., and perhaps Matt Carrswold is visiting him...

Or they could be flying to New York because Darius goes to college in the area. Hmm. Ace went to Princeton, right? I could see Darius going there, and then wanting to spend the weekend in the City with his family.

Who would you want to be narrator? I think it would be interesting for Mark to experiment and have each chapter for the p.o.v. of the different character- 9/11 was such a watershed event, and the way people experienced it varies so greatly.

Mark, here's a link to a youtube video that talks about the way people experienced 9/11.

102 Minutes that Changed America

There are more parts linked to it. It's really fascinating- the college students videotaping it gripped me the most, I think. 9/11 was my generation's JFK, I think.

Why's that, Adam? JP and Stefan make an adorable old couple. I can't immagine why you'd be sick of them.

I'm not sick of them in the least. They seem to have aged gracefully, and they're wonderful men, especially Stefan.

Can I vote for JP and Stefan? I'm pretty much done with them. ;-)

I can't believe someone neg'ed adam for this. So I gave a pos to even things out - I happen to agree with him.

And I'd much rather see JP and Stef go out in heroic glory than anything drawn out
