scotty94 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Dear all GA members I was having a chat with my mates the other day and they mentioned GA, I told then I was a member, then my mate jumped in and said that he wanted to become a member but after reading a few story on the site he noticed they were a all between gay males, he then said he wished there were a few lesbian themed stores on the site, So this got me thinking should there be a section where people who post lesbian themed stories be included on the site, it is in effect a gay relationship just with females instead of males. Please leave comments and feedback of what you think. yours, scotty94
K.C. Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 (edited) There are Lesbian themed stories here on GA. Check out the story tags: 42 stories https://www.gayauthors.org/stories/browse/list/?filtertype_2=tag&filtervalue_2=59 I think a majority of the stories are M/M since most of the authors are male and that is their experience but it's not limited to that. I wrote a lesbian story for the anthology earlier this year. View the tags and find a bunch of different reading themes. https://www.gayauthors.org/stories/browse/tag/ Edited July 30, 2013 by KC Grim 1
Slytherin Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I have read a few lesbian stories on this site - go to stories - "story tags" and then choose "lesbian". Not that many, about 40 stories or so / Little blue one
scotty94 Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 thanks for your replies but I didn't think there was any, someone on the site early this year said there wasn't any.
Bumblebee Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 There isn't many of them, and its a bit of a shame really since its really hard to find lesbian stories that are good quality and aren't aimed at men.
Zombie Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Your mate could always try Nifty - they're indexed by "gay" "lesbian" "bi" etc. I've no idea what the "L" stuff's like but it might just be your mate's cuppa tea
scotty94 Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 nifty is disgusting I spent time browsing through that until I discovered GA a perfect and cleaner website. thank you myr
joann414 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 KC has a great lesbian antho called, 'Let the Music Play'. It's a beautiful story
Former Member Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Carrington also dabbles in some lesbianism. From what I've read, it's not exactly the main focus of his stories, but it's certainly there.
Pete Bruno Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 nifty is disgusting I spent time browsing through that until I discovered GA a perfect and cleaner website. thank you myr While I'll admit that Nifty may not be as discriminating when it comes to posting stories as this site and others, I find it a little heavy-handed to call it disgusting. Considering that it has been archiving (for free) gay fiction for 21 years I think we should cut them some slack. There are many authors that post there as well as here and CRVboy and Tickie Stories (I among them) who are just trying to get the most exposure they can for their stories. The good news is, after the first paragraph you can always move on and continue to look for something worth reading; you just may be surprised. As for posting on GA, there is clearly a place for Lesbian writing; when posting a story there is a tag under Relationship titled Lesbian. I'm sure if your mate were to write a story it would welcomed here. .
iSimba Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Nifty's been around for 21 years? Wow. That's kind of crazy really.
Thorn Wilde Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 I have a lesbian short story in the works for the Hubris collection.
Pete Bruno Posted August 4, 2013 Posted August 4, 2013 Nifty's been around for 21 years? Wow. That's kind of crazy really. Not sure how you mean that. No worries though, when you're older than Zip Codes 21 years doesn't sound like such a long time!

It's a long time in Internet years, though. Very few websites that were around a decade ago are still around today, let alone 21 years.
iSimba Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 It's a long time in Internet years, though. Very few websites that were around a decade ago are still around today, let alone 21 years. That was more to my point. That's nearly the entire lifespan of the "modern" internet iirc.
Former Member Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I may find my way into a lesbian story sometime or another I'm sure. It is certainly not a very well represented genre XD always looking to stretch my writing, well see!

clumber Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 (edited) I remember for a while there was an attempt to filtier all lesbian content away from this site onto a sister site for Straight fic, but I assume the idea was dropped? (Also on a side-note... What's the big deal with Nifty? Yes, it's porn. That's all. Civilisation has calmly survived thousands upon thousands of years with highly-enthusistic porn. I'm sure we can struggle on a little longer. ) Edited August 7, 2013 by clumber
Thorn Wilde Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I remember for a while there was an attempt to filtier all lesbian content away from this site onto a sister site for Straight fic, but I assume the idea was dropped? That idea seems... really kind of dumb, to be honest. Last I checked, lesbians were also gay.
clumber Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 That idea seems... really kind of dumb, to be honest. Last I checked, lesbians were also gay. I think there was a push for Bi stuff to move there as well. Basically, it was a bit 'M/M for GA, everything else on the side-site'. Obviously it didn't really catch on. Probably a good thing - the best it could've really hoped to achieve was to split the community. (iirc it was seperate chat-rooms and everything.)
