Just kidding.    I think it's probably the baking soda.  Other than that, probably some hot sauce from Taco Bell or packaged ketchup.  They probably got transfered to the current fridge when the old fridge was sent away to the nice recyling people.

 

Or maybe it's that strange white tentacle thing in the deep end of the fridge....

Well the cleanout is done - and yes the baking soda was the oldest thing in there. Now its the newest.  There was one bottle of salad dressing that expired "last year" but only at the end of December.

Absorbs odors so the whole fridge and all the food doesn't end up smelling and tasting of last nights fish.

i never put eggs in the fridge because the shells are porous and absorb odours. which is fine, if everything in your fridge is hermetically sealed... my fridge, not so much...
