Bill W Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 An interesting and very sad article I found. How many of you were aware of this? http://www.dailykos.com/story/2015/06/25/1396297/-Forty-Two-Years-Ago-Today-The-Worst-Mass-Murder-Of-Gay-People-In-US-History?detail=email 2
Site Administrator Valkyrie Posted June 25, 2015 Site Administrator Posted June 25, 2015 I read about this yesterday on Facebook. I cried when I read the article. So sad and senseless. The treatment of the victims by the police, the press, and even their own families is disgusting.
Drew Espinosa Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Gosh, I am actually crying right now. How could anyone show such callousness about a mass murder?
Carlos Hazday Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Thanks for sharing, Bill. We've come a long way. And yet, the road ahead is still long.
Daddydavek Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 The truly sad thing is that in 1973 it was not a shocking story and barely made it into the national news and the heartlessness was never mentioned....
LitLover Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Such a sad event in history. Even more heartbreaking is the reaction of the public at the time.
Site Moderator drpaladin Posted June 28, 2015 Site Moderator Posted June 28, 2015 I remember this and the cruel insensitive jokes based on it. Thanks for bringing it back to our attention.
Menace Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 yes, I've known about this for a while but it didn't resurface into my mind until you mentioned it. It was horrible. I forgot how i come about this information years ago. Hopefully people will know about this incident that happened many years ago.
