' Live-Poets Society ' – A Corner For Poetry

Recommended Posts

Any comment is better than nothing .. even a thumbs up means it meant something to you. It's hard to sit and write knowing full well than people will read it and just do or say nothing.  We get a lot of stuff for 'free' on GA .. but it costs the author something .. time, thought, feelings, and sometimes part of our soul.

We should at least support each other ... like each other's work, just say thanks i enjoyed this... how long does it take?  This isn't directed at anyone in particular, but northie's comment made me think.  I'm guilty of it too.

My new years resolution early ... if i read something I will say something. Even if it's just a few words.

tim has spoken well, and he speaks for me, too.

------

The Forever White Under the Phosphorescent Sky

------

~ For my future love

I stand still with him here

Upon this frozen shore

In ice chilled air so clear

Where cold fills every pore

We look out far across

The ice hardened water

To spot the Northern Cross,

Our guide through dark winter

We see that the sky shines

With prismatic echoes

Of lights in bands and lines

of bright greens and yellows

I giggle like a child

Filled high with giddy joy

To see a sight so wild

Feeling again that boy

I lost so long ago

My Love turns to face me

And takes hold of my hand

His smile shines with glee

Seeing my joy expand

To see his pure homeland

Where only truth can lie

In pure bliss our lips close

Upon the forever white snows

Under a phosphorescent sky

Nice, MrM! And it is frozen here...I need boots this morning!Ugh

God!!! I could be on snow like that. That's the vivid image you have given us here, both with the picture and your poem. Loved it, Mr. M

Thank you Emi!

You'll experience it again in prose in time. This is a coming attraction from my story Snowflake: A Love Story.

WARNING: This is pretty negative and angry.

Our Father?

Don’t tell me he works in mysterious ways

He’s a liar, a cheat—a false witness

Why would you want so young a boy?

Whose talent and humour—just maturing?

I will not and cannot believe in such blarney

He don’t give us more than can be handled—ha!

There’s no gods and no justice, no reason or rhyme

Life’s a crap shoot—a monstrous carnival game

We fight to live, to create and survive

While somewhere are our judges watching?

Give that one cancer, that other can starve

Take his job, her child and his mother

This world is an abomination—a horror

There’s none of us get through it unscathed

My heart is breaking for loss of a friend

And my nephew’s boyfriend’s mother

If you’re out there doing nothing, then damn you!

Damn you—come live in the hell you created,

No decent father would leave children like this

But maybe you’re rather like mine.

I cannot comfort you more than Mr. M. Anger comes out of the pain. I FELT it. Your pain. But just remember that, even the saddest things remain in our life and makes us humane...

Hold me

as you unleash

your just, impassioned rage

against cruel, unpardonable

sorrows;

for I

am not remotely strong enough

to bear such hurt alone,

so I rely

on you.

Thank you for giving voice to everyone who is hurting.

leaf litter – I think I want to write

a poem about leaf litter pressing

down the 'old,'

compacting it

making it dense and heavy

but do the sorrows

accumulating on top

give a care about the ones being

buried?

press

press

press

new on old, endlessly.

  Wonderful AC ... it's perfect
