When I'm depressive I don't have the energy when I'm only cooking for myself, but give me a guest and a little extra cash, I cook up a feast. Got leftover roast, so I can eat some tomorrow too. 3

I applaud your avoidance of the commercial products. Since I haven't had mac and cheese since shortly before the first Christmas, I did a little browsing of what's available on your grocery shelf. I found a couple that deserve sharing: 8. Quinoa Mac & Cheese Cheesiness: 1 -- It doesn't even taste like cheese, it's more straight up pasta. It's as if the macaroni shampooed itself with cheese sauce and washed it off. All that's left is the smell. Artificial flavor: 5 -- The flavor had hints of paper and sterilizer, but was so neutral that it earned average marks. Pasta: 3 -- The sauce formed to the macaroni, giving it a rough texture that was pretty horrid. It didn't have an aftertaste; it had an aftertexture. Overall flavor: 2 -- This is an embarrassment and shouldn't even be called mac and cheese. Final score: 2.75 -- DON'T EAT THIS, EVER. 7. Mrs Leeper's Gluten-free Mac & Cheese Cheesiness: 4 -- Creamy and full of flavor up front, but with highly diminishing returns. Each bite tastes less cheesy. Artificial flavor: 6 -- Turmeric and paprika do a good job of masking the artificial flavors until the stainless steel aftertaste overpowers them. Pasta: 1 -- Definitely the worst. Their slogan "keeping the taste in and the gluten out" is only technically accurate. It didn't keep consistency at all. Damn you, rice flour! Overall flavor: 2 -- The fakeness of the pasta took center stage, detracting from a decent cheese flavor. Final score: 3.25 -- GLUTEN, LIKE GREED, IS GOOD. DON'T EAT THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE TO. There were none that measured up to Mom's, and I suspect she used Velveeta. 🤢 3 1
Brayon Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 Be back later. I've done all my schoolwork for the day, and not going to work on my story tonight. I have several things I need to critically think about to problem-solve... damn... @Mikiesboy and @Backwoods Boy have reinforced what I was learning this week in class with there advice. Off to Beta a chapter for BB for his off-site story. With a few minor tweaks, clean up some scenes some, I swear he can post it here on GA. It's really good. tim can vouch for me, that if I think something sucks you would know. Also, I'm going to have to start a new Skyrim game. The problem with pirated games... things can corrupt easily. But, I found another version that is more stable. 1 2

Amount of liquid varies. Fix Pasta as directed. In a large pot melt Velveeta with Heavy whipping cream. Sit constantly. Once the cheese mixture is melted, fold in pasta. Serve immediately... I've had that version a LOT of times. It was my ex-roomies favorite way. 2 1 1

I like making it in the skillet, because you don’t have to wait for the water to boil. It takes about 10 minutes. I wing it and add water as needed or drain it with a colander if there’s too much water. Sauce/butter is mixed in the skillet, too. Nice and easy clean up. 2 2
