And no, as much as I would like to, I am not going to spay them all. Been there... done that... oh, and a strange orange cat was in the barn when my son got home last night.. I didn't see it this morning, but it will have found the food and moved in. Are there local organizations that could help defray the cost? 3 3
Site Administrator Popular Post Valkyrie Posted August 10, 2019 Site Administrator Popular Post Posted August 10, 2019 This is how I currently feel, but the house is guest-ready, laundry done (last load is in progress), food prepped and cooked for tomorrow's dinner, grocery shopping done, hair done (it looks awesome, if I do say so myself ) and now I just need some guests! I made the bbq sauce, dressing for the salad, cooked a pound of bacon, hard boiled eggs for the salad, and made butterscotch brownies. Now I need to try not to fall asleep waiting for their flight to arrive. 2 6

I already went grocery shopping this morning, so I'm all stocked up for my guests This morning, I'll do some cooking in preparation for the dinner I want to make tomorrow. Pulled pork with homemade bbq sauce, spinach salad with warm bacon dressing, roasted broccoli, and my famous butterscotch brownies for dessert. I also have a few odds and ends to do around the house. I'm getting my hair done this afternoon, then afterwards my mom will come over and help me with some things I can't do on my own. Then I try to relax for a bit before Cole and Randy arrive late tonight It's absolutely beautiful out this morning. Upper 50s and sunny So your plan is to be beautiful but exhausted when they arrive ... 7

The most fun was Jacob. He is an eleven-year-old that came in with his sister to browse while his parents were busy with friends gathered for a surprise marriage proposal. First though a bit of background. We have a friend who hand crochets a variety of whimsical hats such as various fruits and veggies, animals, viking helms with attached braided beards, dragons, etc. She also makes hoods with animal ears, horns, etc. Today we had a pair of red foxes, a black wolf, a gray wolf, a brown bear, a blue, green and purple sea dragon complete with two sets of curving horns and finally a unicorn with a rainbow mane and golden horn. Jacob is one of the most beautiful boys I have ever seen. The child had model quality features. He stood just under 5 foot tall. His medium brown hair cascaded in curls down his back, easily two foot long that also framed his face. I believe if not for the length he would have ringlets. His eyes are a soft muted aquamarine and a smattering of pale freckles covered both cheekbones and the bridge of his nose. While they waited he tried on each of the hoods and in each he was adorable. Eventually, their father arrived and Jacob again modeled the hoods and made puppy dog faces. It turns out the children get their hair and eyes from dad. Who wears his hair short because otherwise he has a mop of curls. He hung out and wasted time with the kids while they tried on various other things eventually they left but later in the afternoon were back and Jacob left wearing the gray wolf hood. 4 4

Site Administrator Popular Post Valkyrie Posted August 11, 2019 Site Administrator Popular Post Posted August 11, 2019 Well despite being exhausted and up until 1:00 am chatting, I'm up at my usual early time Hopefully I can go back to sleep for a little bit. Cole and Randy arrived safely and are snoring away in the guest room. I plan on making a nice breakfast when they get up. Eggs, bacon, sausage, and fruit salad. Plus toast, if they want it. 6 2
