Five were added yesterday and the neighboring county announced the first two cases there. The county line is less than a mile away. We're limiting our excursions to groceries or take out. Mum usually stays home while I make the trip. She rode along yesterday when we dropped off the info to have her taxes done. She waited in the car while I made the dropoff. 5 1

He's hoping to come round this afternoon and fix the leaking gutter, and install lead flashing at the bottom of some of the roof slates to make sure the rainwater actually goes into the gutter. Hopefully that will stop the leaks that have been allowing water into the front of the house over the front door. He's also going to clean the forest that's growing out of the gutter at the rear of the house. I got some loft ladders delivered whilst I was away, so he has said he will install those for me as well if he has time. Once I have proper access to the attic space, I shall be able to arrange attic insulation, which should leave the house less expensive to keep warm. There should be a generous grant available to help pay for that job. I also want the builder to clear some weeds (which I think may include at least one sapling) from one of the chimneys, and to check the flashing and capping on both chimneys. That won't be done today though as the builder will have to arrange the hire of a cherry picker to make working at that height safer for him. I had half expected he may have put this work off until the panic concerning covid-19 had settled down, but he tells me work like this is just the sort of work he can do these days. Working at the top of a ladder means he won't be interacting with other people, so it will be basically the same as self-isolating. And when he is inside the house fitting the loft ladder, I intend to be outside doing some work in the back garden. Sounds awesome, Marty. You're making a lot of progress. Just remember the virus can live on surfaces for more than two weeks so disinfect what's been touched. 5 2

Popular Post Headstall Posted March 24, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 24, 2020 Morning/evening, all! I called my vet's office this morning and it is closed. They said to leave a message. I need Cookies flea/tick/heartworm pills for the year, like right away. I hope they can provide them... my daughter will pick them up for me. On another note, I weighed Cookie and she is now 43.9 pounds. I'm doing a terrible job of keeping the weight off her, but I really don't think I feed her too much. She's almost two, and is a lot stockier, but maybe that's what she should be. I took a lot of flack from my vet for Mallory's weight... 6

The cases in New York are increasing exponentially about every three days, although I expect the time frame to lessen as more are discovered. Over 25k at last count, and they're low on test kits. There aren't any test kits available here, although there are some supposedly on the way. So I imagine the number of infected people is much higher. 1 1 4
